When my dad and I first got there I thought it was a very cozy place looking from outside. We booked a double room. Check in was OK, welcomed with a plastic smile, process was smooth. Disclaimer: We got the last room available on the 2nd floor. I found out later that that floor was for smoking. Reception said at check in that there was no other rooms available. Room 273. Nothing could prepare me for such an atrocious, pungent, stink odor. Entering the floor, I could appreciate smoke smells through out, but that room had an undertone smell that fell nothing short of something dead. It was stifling, sophicating and I could not breathe. I went down to reception and asked for a change but there was none, so I asked them to disinfect, use an air filter or something but was offered a cinnamon airfreshner which settled the odor part somewhat but compounded the smell. Mattress and bedding had cigarette burns, stains at the side, carpet needs changing, AC: circulate that pungent odor and the filter needed changing... Vents filled with dust, cigarette butts, hair... I did not sleep that night. Most places were booked out, so we had no options coming from Jamaica where hospitality is the best, this paled in comparison. I settled to by some fabric freshener. We left the room smelling better than we came and left the freshener as a present. Room: 0 stars Breakfast: 2.5 stars Continental?? Donuts, Bread, butter, cream cheese, coffee, yogurt, juice, apples... All buffet style. Where's the eggs, pancake, bacon? Health hazards: (-4 stars from average) My father developed sinus related breathing problems in that room, I was congested, If I hadn't walk with my antihistamines and nasal sprays... I asked the cleaning crew to change the blankets only to see it was changed with old cigarette burned ones 🙈 Amenities: 4 stars Microwave, WiFi, fridge, hot water all worked Staff: 3 stars. Overall helpful and tried to accomodate my request. Overall comment. Warning! Health hazards ⚠, lack or maintenance to infrastructure, and failure to comply with health regulations. P. S. Not because its a smoking room means you have to leave it mal-odorous or pungent with old burnt linen and carpets and walls that absorb smoke.

DO NOT GO HERE! This is the worst hotel on the planet and I wish I could get my $165 back! Almost every single thing in this place is broken. Plus, if it's not broken then its damaged. If it's not damaged then it's dirty. If it's not dirty then it's outdated. If it's not outdated then it's scary looking. If it's not scary looking it's STILL not even comfortable. I brought my child here and my husband and I had to figure out a somewhat PG way of explaining what a crack den is. I have never wasted my money so badly, I almost cried. I have stayed in a hotel in a nearby city for $44 after taxes that wasn't nearly as bad as this AND had a better selection and quality of continental breakfast. Half of their parking lot was underwater. They tell you to use the elevator buttons in a certain way to make it run. No, sir, that is when most reputable companies slap an OUT OF ORDER sign on it and get the d@#n thing fixed! Cigarette burns on the counter in bathroom, holes from cigarettes in the mattress and curtain, spray paint on the wall because they couldn't bother matching paint colors to cover scratch marks on the walls, and random stickers stuck on things. It's not even safe. I saw a smashed lightbulb and a needle tip in the rock landscaping outside!!! I REPEAT, DO NOT GO HERE! P.S. Dear Norwood Inn and Suites (Owner) Please, do not bother responding to this review unless it is to say one of the next options: 1.We are closing down because of our poor quality. We will make updates and then reopen. 2. We are changing our prices to fit a more suitable clientele and to help the homeless escape the desperate cold of Minnesota. All of our rooms will be offered at $30 a night or lower. We're sorry we made you overpay for our product and services. SHAME ON YOU! THAT IS NO WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS. And sorry but I think anyone that owns or runs that dump deserves it. (I'm part Canadian, we always feel bad) Good day to you.

1 Star is pushing it. this is the nastiest place i have ever stayed at. starting right when i got there. It started with a girl wandering around talking to herself, then on the way to our room it was like walking into big clouds of pot smoke. the guy who checked me in was rude not only to me but to other guests. Once in our room I always do an inspection, i found flaky stuff on the desk and the night stand, when i opened the dresser drawers i found them filled with sticky yellow stuff and crumbs. the air conditioner hasn't been cleaned in a very long time, the dust on it was black and thick.the fridge was full of crumbs and sticky stuff. Lets now talk about the bathroom OMG mold so thick, the tub had not been scrubbed down possibly ever, the shower head sprayed water everywhere, there is no plastic shower liner only one made out of thin cloth (water everywhere!), the pool had a pair of pants in it along with a stuffed animal and some odd milky stuff, the hot tub was sectioned off with pool chairs so you couldn't go in it (this was noticed on Sunday, on Monday my friend brought her son to go swimming and was told the pool is closed Mondays for weekly maintenance which is a lie as i stayed over a week and this past Monday i saw all kinds of people in there). The breakfast you are promised is terrible, a few donuts that are stale, some bagels with warm cream cheese. a questionable juice machine and a toaster that barely works. I also found it very odd that room 251 always had their door popped opened for anyone to walk into it day or night (yep someone was in there). Pay the extra money and get a nicer room somewhere else. this place is a dumb! with bad managers & Housekeeping, my room was cleaner when we left than when we got there.

We got here, and the rooms aren't awful, though the halls reek or cigarette smoke. Came with my mom to stay a night with my aunt before my birthday.

The rooms at a glance are nice enough. Dusty and dingy, but it's a cheap hotel, so what do you expect. But it was far, far worse than we had imagined.

The pool was fine. Swam for a while, no complaints, except the hot tub was out of commission.

But when we came back to the room and we were hanging out, there was a bed bug on the pillow right next to me. We all stood up and checked, and sure enough, TONS of dead bed bugs behind the bed. We had room 155 on the bottom floor. Other notable things about the room were trash and wrappers underneath the bed. Filth on the curtains. The sheets felt soft and clean enough, but after learning of bed bugs, clearly that changes things. The shower had a layer of filth on it, initially thought it was mold, but it washed down the drain and felt chalky. Ants all over the bathroom! Dust everywhere.

We called the front desk and they agreed to move us to a different room. It was just down the hall, and the beds in this room did not appear to be infested with bed bugs. No bites when we woke up, so that's good. My mom and I did not sleep under the covers or on their pillows, keeping our heads on the foot end of the bed away from the bed board. Wasn't a good night's sleep, to say the least. The room is still dusty and just as dirty as the last. There is also a broken toilet seat in this room, so be careful not to fall off! Walls are painted yellow, but they painted around the furniture, which has been moved since, so there are patches of white on parts of the walls too.

Read the reviews. Very unclean, bed bugs almost everywhere, food is stale and moldy supposedly, cockroaches? We didn't see any, but there are multiple reports of them here, appliances not working in some cases. It would not be putting it mildly to say there is a bed bug infestation. Based on the reviews, anyway.

All of us are from out of state, so we were unaware of the state of this place. Wished we had looked at reviews sooner. DO NOT MAKE OUR MISTAKE. DO NOT ROLL THE DICE AND TAKE A...

If you are looking for a hotel Just A step above the Motel 6 this would be the place. I had stayed there about 4 days I came under unfortunate circumstances and left under even more unfortunate circumstances, however, I won't but that hinder my review.

The front desk staff is the very best part of this hotel, they are all quite friendly and efficient but there was one front desk agent who really stood out in terms of guest relations and I unfortunately didn't catch his name but he is a younger college age guy who I've seen working the overnight shift... This young man in particular has natural/unforced customer service skills making him a rare gem in his role.

Things I learned during my stay- 1. Make sure you pay for another night not a minute past the 11am check out or a woman, who I imagine to be the head of housekeeping, becomes very aggressive and you will go from being a guest to being inmate 256 and she is your personal guard. Make sure you let housekeeping in to your room every so often, although they won't insist. I hadn't been letting them in and on day 4 was asked to leave due to the fact I hadn't let them in... I will admit I did have a lot of items for my online business in my room that I had to drop at my storage locker 1.5 blocks down from the hotel but there was no explaining this to the overly aggressive housekeeper woman who was the same woman who had been very rude from the start. And while I understand her position (and I mean understand as I worked in the hospitality industry for the better of 17 years) as a manager I've had to play her role and a little tact goes a long way.

I think a rule of thumb for housekeeping would be to get in to occupied rooms every 3 days and make sure to post the info where the guest can see it as I was never told any information in regards to their need to enter.

The owner of the property goes above and beyond for his guests and besides the unpleasant experience I had with housekeeping I WOULD recommend...
