It is an honor to be the first to review this location of Stone Pho in Roseville on Yelp!
My first impression of this place was, "Whoa, finally a Pho place in Roseville! And it looks awesome!" This location was plagued by a series of turnovers of unsuccessful restaurants, ranging from Pan Asian to an American Bar. Tucked in Perimeter Drive, yet clearly visible by shoppers at Patina, Turn Style, and Blaze Credit Union, next to Karta Thai. I was excited to learn that this is a second location of Stone Pho of Blaine.
Walking up to the place, it was brightly lit, and very inviting. Walking in you are immediately greeted by the incredible aroma of Pho bone broth that has been simmering for hours. Along with the very diverse clientele, it was reminiscent of the old Saigon in Frogtown when they were in the former Long John Silver building: bustling, with full tables of families filled with food, sharing memories and insane food.
The bright black and white dining room was as inviting as the outside, with trendy decor and get this: no boxes of takeout containers visible anywhere! There aren't cases of Sriracha and Hoisin lining the hallway to the bathrooms! Someone finally figured it out.
I was greeted by a nice hostess and was seated right away. The menu was on point. This is a full on Vietnamese establishment: Pho, Bahn Mi sandwiches, Broken Rice Plates, Vermicilli Salads, along with the obligatory Pad Thai, stir fry dishes, and fried rice. They also have specialty Pho like oxtail, Bun Bo Hue, and even Lobster! Of course there is also bubble tea, and even Fried Sesame Balls and Vietnamese desserts.
I saw a menu item I have never seen anywhere else (including places on Eat Street or Frogtown.) Banh Canh Gió Heo is a pork broth dish with thick noodles, quail eggs, pork hock, mushrooms, steamed pork rolls, and fried fish ball.
To say that I was impressed is an understatement. I eat a lot of pho, and at one point I did a pho tour review around the city. The best broth hands down was this place at the Hmong Village called Three Ladies, where they made a 16 hr broth. (They're closed.) I'm glad to report that the pork broth here is on par with Three Ladies, and even surpasses MT Noodle and Mandarin (Brooklyn Center), iPho (Frogtown), and the OG's Pho Tau Bay and Quang (Eat Street.) They performed the long simmer and the finishing of the broth perfectly, resulting in a deep long broth that is also popping in fresh flavor. The pork itself was so flavorful that I didn't even ever have to dip it in Hoisin/Sriracha. The quail eggs were perfectly "œuf mollet" to quote the French lol.
Well, we have been languishing in NE Minneapolis and Roseville for a proper Pho restaurant. (Sorry, for us purists Hai Hai does not count.) Now we have a gem and a destination! Next time we'll be sure to try the Bun Bo Hue and the...
Read moreI’ve been to this restaurant around 10 times, so this isn’t a one-time rant or a bad-day complaint. In fact, my first two visits were great—the service was attentive, the staff seemed to care. But then something changed. And it wasn’t just one person—it’s the entire staff, consistently, every single time since.
What I’ve Experienced • Ignored While They Socialize: On multiple visits, the staff was literally standing around, drinking what looked like mango slushies or bubble teas, laughing with each other, and ignoring customers. They clearly saw me sitting there waiting for basic service, yet nobody approached me. • No Acknowledgement: Finished eating? Be prepared to sit there awkwardly until you finally give up and walk to the counter yourself. There’s no checking in, no “Are you ready to pay?”, no basic courtesy. • It’s Clearly a Pattern: This isn’t just one bad server—it’s all of them. And from what I’ve read in other Google reviews, this is happening to plenty of other people. Couples, solo diners, different races—everyone has the same complaints.
Why This Matters
Customer service this consistently bad isn’t an accident—it’s an attitude. And it feels like management doesn’t care either. If they did, they’d be correcting this immediately instead of letting the staff hang out like it’s a social club.
The food? It’s fine. But no meal is worth feeling invisible or disrespected. There are too many good Vietnamese restaurants in the area to waste your time or money here.
If this place doesn’t drastically change how they treat paying customers, I hope people stop coming here entirely—because they don’t deserve...
Read moreI’ve given this place way too many chances—25 visits total. The first time? Fine. After that? It’s been nothing but disrespect and laziness every single time.
The staff doesn’t even pretend to care anymore. They hang around drinking slushies, laughing, and chatting with each other while paying customers sit there being ignored. They look right at you and keep walking like you’re invisible. I’ve had servers literally grab sauce off my table, see my empty plate, and still say nothing. Not even a “Ready to pay?” or “How was everything?”—just nothing.
And it’s not one bad apple. It’s every single server. Which tells you everything you need to know: • This behavior is allowed—maybe even approved—by management. • The staff has zero respect for the customers keeping this place open.
This isn’t “busy restaurant chaos” either. Sometimes there’s barely anyone inside, and they still don’t care. That’s how you know this isn’t about being overwhelmed—it’s about attitude.
The worst part? Read the other reviews. People of all backgrounds—Asians, whites, couples, solo diners—are saying the same thing. So it’s not just me. This place simply does not care about service.
The food? Average at best, definitely not good enough to make up for being treated like you don’t matter.
I don’t care how much you like pho—don’t waste your time or money on a place that clearly doesn’t value you. If they keep this up, they deserve to go out of business, because no paying customer should tolerate this...
