Family went for dinner before a Christmas play and was disappointed. Hadn't been to this location for a few years. Ordered guacamole for eating with chips and it didn't come, had to ask for it several times before we got it and had eaten chips for 15+ minutes with salsa only. When my Kiwi margarita came, it was dark dark green and didn't have any taste like kiwi. I mentioned it to the waiter which got no response. Artificial colored flavors (and too much if it isn't a good thing as I have allergies to dyes and other suspect ingredients). So my combo plate comes, and I start eating and the rice and beans are spread so thinly on the plate, and none of it is hot. My beef enchilada had big hunks of meat stuck together not like the ones I've had at other locations. Again, not hot, barely warm. The chicken taco was ok, but when I tried eating the chili relleno, there was absolutely NO cheese stuffed in the middle, so it was a unpeeled poblano pepper with battered outside which when the sauce covered it turned into a big gluteous mess. I told and showed the waiter, so he said he'd bring me a new one. I took it home, did not even finish my lousy drink, ( other people at the table agreed it wasn't any good) and I had a bad headache all night afterwards as well as today from whatever artificial concoction was in my drink. Will not go back to this location. Lousy service and overpriced...
Read moreVERY HONEST REVIEW HERE: First of all, I am not someone who typically leaves reviews for places. My friend and I checked out this restaurant recently, we were both looking forward to good Mexican food, unfortunately we were quite disappointed. The chicken in my flautas was the same white meat shredded chicken you taste in chicken tenders from a fast-food restaurant and/or can purchase at the grocery store. There was no seasoning or flavor to the chicken, and it kept falling out of my flauta and onto my plate. The salsa and queso tasted as if they were from a jar. The chips were lacking a salt taste on them and did not seem homemade. The drinks were too strong, and I was disappointed that my margarita tasted spicy. My friend was also disappointed with her chicken quesadilla. And we have both tasted much better Mexican food at other Tex-Mex restaurants. I have also had homemade Latino flautas, salsa, and rice and beans that tasted much better than this restaurant. The only good thing was how friendly our server was. She was quite friendly despite having to be the server for majority of the tables in the area we were seated. She has to tend to several other tables, including ours. They were short staffed and despite this she seemed organized and did a good job. Lastly, if you are looking for authentic tasting & looking Mexicano/Latino food, this is NOT the...
Read moreMy friend and I went this evening. I thought it was going to be a typical restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised that it wasnt. The server was attentive and patient with our order/questions. The chips arrived warm...onsite made? They were the thin type....light, manageable. Our server brought out 2 small bowls of salsa...2..not one to share. That was nice. Once I started eating, I didnt want to stop (in fact I didnt. My friend had to step out so I ate both bowls and all the chips.. đ.) The salsa was so very tastey. It was mild and very very flavorful. Not over salted as some can be. My friend ordered the chicken salad (?) with poblano dressing. She enjoyed that, but not as much as the prickley pear margarita. She raved about it. I had a taste. I rarely drink alcohol, but that was really good....tangey with just enough alcohol to add the bite and relax in to. I got the enchilada combo (boring...yes). I opted for 2-steak and 1-pork. The steak was well worth the extra dollar. The strips were tender and seasoned just right! I, fortunately saved one steak...due to eating too much chips. Breakfast..... If Im ever in the Rosedale area, this will definitely be the new...
