I was excited to visit the hotel because I had read all of the previous reviews and knew this was the hotel for my family and I. Sadly to stay the hotel did not live up to its expectations. Our 1 bedroom was nice, kind of small but doable for a family of 3. Upon our late arrival Michael at the front desk greeted us and was helpful about accommodating us on our late arrival. Day 2 the service went downhill from there. No one at the front desk said Hello or greeted us as we entered and left hotel. I had to speak with Tony the mgr about my room charges and he was very unprofessional, rude and even stated that he was quite irritated with my concerns. I was surprised that Staybridge would have a leader who was this inconsiderate leading their team. Not only was he rude but he also spoke negatively about his team mates making them appear incompetent. I asked Tony to have my room full serviced while I was away and he assured me that he would put my room number on the list. I came back to my room to find the bathroom and kitchen not cleaned, no counters wiped, the sitting area was untouched, no linen changed. Tub and toilet still dirty. I did check with front desk and my room had been reported full serviced by housekeeping. If taking away towels and leaving new ones is full service-they have a long way to go!! Michael at front desk apologized and stated that he would f/u with mgr about poor housekeeping service. Housekeepers came to room next day and attempted to remake beds with same linen, empty trash and leave. I had to stay with them to make sure that they actually changed linen, cleaned toilet and tub, wipe counters, change linen for sleeper and vacuum!! They served the same food items for breakfast which was mediocre, but Jessica in food service was nice. Tony and housekeeping made this that worst experience for IHG that I have had since becoming a member. I plan to look at other options when I travel. I use to make IHG the 1st-Never again!! Can someone please teach the staff here that saying Hello, greeting their customer is the right thing to do instead of being consumed in their own personal conversations!! The housekeepers need cleaning 101. Beware check your sheets, you may be sleeping on the previous family...
Read moreMy husband and I spent a month here while I covered at a nearby hospital. We had a King bedroom suite - bedroom with separate living space, desk and kitchenette. The hotel seems older, dated and a bit worn. The floors creak and the carpet is worn - although it seems relatively clean. Also, animals are permitted. Cleaning during an extended stay was once a week - daily you put your garbage out in the morning and towels if you wanted them exchanged for clean ones. The kitchenette had a full sized fridge (nice), a 2-burner cooktop, microwave and dishwasher. I don't quite understand the dishwasher because there were only 3 of any item (3 dinner plates, 3 cups, 3 forks, 3 knives etc) two people can't get through the day without washing dishes and running a dishwasher is inefficient (and noisy). Having an eating counter is nice but the stools were uncomfortably tall and cumbersome. Likewise the couch was the most uncomfortable horrid thing we have ever encountered - you tolerate such things when you are only staying for a night or two but it was just awful for a whole month. Bed was comfortable, thank goodness. The bathroom sink/mirror is open in between the shower/toilet area and the bedroom - which can be annoying when one of you is an early riser and the other isn't. Shower had good flow (yay).
Because of Covid, there is (was) no warm breakfast or social hour. They provide a to go bag - yogurt, boiled eggs, breakfast bar, muffin and apple. Free washer/dryers -- although beware - I ended up with several pieces of clothing with multiple small tears/holes - probably from rough/broken interior metal parts.
Also in terms of COVID - The staff would not even suggest to guests that they should put on a mask and many guests just wandered in and about without them. Staff did not always set the example by wearing masks. There were inconspicuous signs off to the side of the front doors and posted on elevator doors suggesting social distancing - they did not indicate masking. As the entrance is narrow and cramped, it was uncomfortable to walk through when other guests were present. Overall, we did not feel precautions were taken seriously and did not feel safe outside...
Read moreMy wife and I had a little staycation here yesterday and it was great upon checking in and checking out. I did stay here for the great review, but it did turn sour quickly.
We did have a not so great experience in the middle of night at around 12:30am, due to a fire alarm going off as someone was cooking and set it off. Immediately my wife and I sprang up and got out of the building. I was shoeless (due to not being able to find my shoes in the midst of the sirens) and we did forget to grab our room key which made us have to come back to the front of the building.
We did see that the front door was locked and the front desk receptionist was seated in the front - which we then knocked. We were met with a disgusting attitude where the receptionist shouted “GO AROUND TO THE SIDE”. That could’ve worked if we had a key, but we were left ignored for few minutes until the patrons inside were asking her if they could open the door for us.
She came to us mumbling with an attitude and opened the door, then reiterated and scolded us again that this door is to be locked (like we were children). I was barefoot and we were left embarrassed with the entire experience.
I have stayed in many hotels for business and international travel. I have never been met with such a disgusting and dismissive attitude of an employee. I don’t mind that the fire alarm startled us as that was out of everyone’s control but it was the way that I alongside other patrons were being dismissed and treated. There were no extended apologies for the trouble but “nothing is wrong, go back to sleep” in a very dismissive tone with not even looking at everyone in their face.
Horrible and...
