I lucked out big time with my room. I was first moved into room 223 but eventually moved to 221. The first room was just decent but the toilet was broken didn’t flush. Plus the seat was literally off the toilet not nailed down. So I filed a complaint and was moved to room 221. That room was extremely nice kept up very WELL and clean probably one of the best hotel rooms in the hotel. I say this because you get what you pay for with Ms Quality Inn she is one budget A$$ looking motel. The hallways are humid. There is a weird smell which permeates throughout the motel. Plus the motel gives you a budget sorta cheap hacienda vibe. I say this because I stayed years ago in the 1990’s in Mexico at a motel that looked felt like Ms Quality Inn here MERRILLVILLE INDIANA. There was always banging stomping yelling knocking slamming loudly on doors and walls my week staying at the motel. NOT GOOD. Housekeeper was nice available to assist in the guests needs while staying at the hotel. I was told when I checked in that there were no luggage carts. This was a lie. I ended up seeing two luggage carts at different times on my stay at the hotel. Which was extremely frustrating because I was forced to carry all my baggage’s things to the second floor. The young lady at Guest Services offered to help. I however turned down the invitation based on my suspicions I was being played and lied to about the luggage carts. So the way I checked into the hotel ended UP being the way ended up checking out of the hotel. NO LUGGAGE CART NEEDED OR USED. There was a gentleman who worked at Guests Services that had a serious attitude problem. The first time I was met with his attitude. It was when I was returning the ice bucket from room 223. When I told him I was returning the bucket I made the mistake of claiming it came from room 723. He snapped my head off and said, “WE DON’T HAVE A ROOM 723!!” My apologies I meant to say 223 and he was like “oh, okay. whatever” SMDH. Then when I left the motel to check out my hotel room key kept deactivating. It was frustrating going back and forth to guests services trying to move my things out of that room. I had a lot of things to move out of the room due to the fact no luggage carts were available. Nice price point for those budget friendly price conscience families and travelers but the vibe (EXTREMELY NEGATIVE VIBE) itself needs to...

To began with I received a call prior to my arrival asking for payment since they were completely slammed and wanted to assure we were coming. I paid due to not wanting to lose our room over the phone and proceeded our trip. We got there and ahead of us in line people were checking in with no reservations, but again on the phone she said be they were slammed and had no more availability. We finally got checked in and arrived into our room. The room was beyond disgusting and had blood and gross stuff on the sheets and comforter. I called down to request housekeeping bring us fresh linens so we could make our beds. Housekeeper comes up and kept stating "Its no problem". No this is a problem we kept stating. He left to get clean sheets, manager/reception came up and offered us a new room. Housekeeping just stated no more rooms were available. Well surprising enough a room wad available. The new room wasn't any better. The room was nasty. Hair in corners, black mold, dirty sheets and holes in the comforter. There is way more. My husbanded was told we could have the clean sheets the housekeeper brought to our previous room. We proceeded to get them and the housekeeper called my husband stupid in-front of my 6year old and tried taking the sheets out of my husbands hands. The pool and hot tub can you say disgusting. Take it for what it is but this was my experience and I will never book again. Oh I forgot about the random person trying to come into my room at 1:30am. Even through the other room due to them having combined doors they opened theirs and was trying to push our door open. Stay away. This is a very unsafe hotel. We left a day early due to the disgust. No refund...

Hotel Housekeeper Charged with Sexual Battery After Alleged Incident at Merrillville Quality Inn
A 67-year-old hotel housekeeper is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly groping and kissing a guest at a Merrillville hotel earlier this month.
According to court documents, Merrillville police were dispatched around 12:24 p.m. on July 10, 2025, to the Quality Inn in the 1300 block of East 83rd Avenue in response to a reported sex offense. While inside, he allegedly attempted to hug her, groped her left breast, and kissed her cheek near her lips.
The guest told officers she pushed the man out of the room and locked the door, only for him to return minutes later, knocking and apologizing. She reported feeling fearful and physically shaken after the incident.
The woman also told police that the front desk manager was made aware of the incident and “had stated that he would speak with the housekeeper and tell him not to go to the room anymore.” She further stated that she was also told, “this was not the first time the housekeeper has done something like this.”
Police later identified the housekeeper as Anilkumar Dahyabha Patel. After the victim confirmed his identity, Patel was taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail.
