The high light of my last visit was the table service. The young lady who served us was attentive and personable. I'm guessing that she was still a newbie. I couldn't figure out why we were her only table inside another waitress' station. Oh well, I'll get back to that later. After all, solving world hunger takes precedence.
Uhhh, the food at some restaurant chains can sometimes make a valiant attempt at being mediocre, that is, depending on which location you visit. Moving on...
My two biggest concerns with the Red Lobster brand is that the décor seems dated and dark, and the plated food presentation never ever looks like what's pictured on the menu. I know that the pics on the menu are probably photoshopped images of fake food, but it seems to me that they could try a little harder to make the food being served look closer to what's being advertised.
On this last visit, I was seated, along with my guests, near the waiter's drink refill station even though the restaurant was scarcely populated with customers. The teen-age looking hostess showed us to a hybrid half booth/half table. I told her that I didn't want to be seated so near to the kitchen. With a smile that was centered somewhere between tolerance and condescension, she said that it was not the kitchen (blah, blah, blah) and turned and walked away. That's all it took to take the wind right out of my sails. I guess I got distracted wondering if I'd ever acted like that to any elders when I was that age and wr ultimately ended up settling for the trottoir. I guess I have that look that implies that whenever visiting a Red Lobster restaurant that I want to be seated where 10 (fictitious number) different people are constantly whizzing by my table, stirring up the air and... (take a look at the carpets in some of these places).
I digress. So, I decided to try one of the relatively highly-priced high end special items. When I mentioned that the King crab legs were the smallest I've ever seen on a plate, the manager quickly bought out a small saucer with what looked to be another whole baby King crab leg cut into pieces--for which I was grateful. I guess it's true...the good die young.
I'm especially grateful that the lively conversation and special attention of our waitress made the dinner a memorable occasion.
Please don't take this post as a slam. Actually, it's more of an insight to who I am. After all, I'm the one who keeps on...
Read moreLet me start off by saying I didn't want to give no stars at all but this was the only way I can make posts. This was my first time ever in a Red lobster. And it was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life and I'm 55 years old and I'm a server for 40 years. I actually serve at BJ's brewhouse down the road. So once we were seated we waited at least 12 minutes just to be greeted and we were greeted by one server who told her she was off that she would get us our drinks until our server could get with us. It took us 21 minutes just to get a drink during this 21 minutes we never even met our server. The server that did get our drinks was too busy cleaning her dirty tables so she can go home instead of worrying about the guests. And then when they did finally bring our drinks my daughter had grass floating in hers, and didn't even have them right. One night took our drink order didn't ask if we would like to get some appetizers in so we can get something on the table we were starving at this point cuz now it's going on 30 minutes and we're just meeting our server. So then after she gets to start drinking she's going to tell us that she'll be right back she has to go greet another table. So my daughter says to her you know we are paying customers and we've already been here in 25 minutes we'd like to eat. So she told my daughter I don't have time for arguments with you ma'am and walked away with an attitude. Her name is Erica and I'm sorry she's the worst server I've ever met in my life and I've been through a lot of restaurants and met a lot of servers. I'm sorry but she really needs to be fired and I don't like to play with people's money like that but that was totally totally out of pocket. Oh and don't let me forget to say that they brought us some raw biscuits. Remember first time ever in Red lobster and guess what my last. So I took my $250 business down to outback. Cuz we were a party of eight. So yeah everybody stay away from Red lobster in...
Read moreI was writing because I have been wanting Red Lobster for a while even took a chance before the snow storm and while my daughter was in town from hours away. I placed an online order and my confirmation told me it would be ready at 3:57 after placing my order at 3:15. I get to the establishment and had to wait an additional 30 minutes for my food to come out .
I am a patient person but what is the point of placing an order if I still have to wait for it to be cooked to order what if I was at lunch on my break. After I get my food and check my bag all of my special instructions were missing, I asked for French dressing and didn't get it and after stating that I was brought out ceaser and ranch still no French. I asked about my side of garlic butter and was ignored. I received 3 dry burnt biscuits and when I asked where my fourth especially since one looked like it had been ate off of I get another burnt biscuit.
I then asked about my two orders of scampi and told two very small orders were in one little container. I will try to attach the photo of what two orders were to look like. Then I tried the new vinegar shrimp which are tasteless and I received four little shrimps . My salad had no croutons ,cheese, onions or anything on it. It was just leaves. I am so disappointed as red lobster used to be my favorite place but they have gone downhill and I am so tired of giving them chances. This is not a little five dollars that was spent and pretty expensive for what you get and I am left disappointed, dissatisfied and not full on what I received. I would like a full refund because it was not worth my hard working money and my daughter had to go to somewhere else to get something that was up to par while she was in town. I wish they take these thoughts into full consideration and revamp or they will one day...
