Actually, we went to two different Popeyes Chicken restaurants because the first one was so rude! First, to begin, we drove to the one located in Hammond, IN; there wasn't much of a greeting, all we received was an unfriendly tone, "can I take your order", then, everything we asked for the young lady kept responding with they "we're all out"! And when I say everything we asked for, I mean just that! It was the middle of the day and the restaurant wasn't crowded, in fact, only one car behind me...not even any customers on the inside! With customer service like this, the employees themselves will run Popeyes out of business! Corporate/Management needs to either retrain their employees or replace them with individuals that really want to be there to work! To continue, we drove away from that restaurant and traveled to the other Popeyes Chicken in Merrillville, IN...the young man that took our order was nice but we started hearing the similar phrases there too! We wanted to order 4 cinnamon apple pies, he responded that they only had one left, then I asked for 3 bengiets, he responded with they "were all out", then I asked for 2 flounder fish sandwiches but they weren't selling that at this particular store, so we ordered 2 mild blackened Chicken sandwiches and he responded with they "were all out"...by this time, I get a little irritated and asked what do they have available because this is the second Popeyes I've traveled to and they're repetively stating "we're all out" of almost everything that we asked for! To prevent from being frustrated, I joked around and asked, do you have any Chicken here because everything else I've asked for I keep getting the same answer? The young man finally said that there would be a 5 minute wait on the blackened Chicken sandwiches, we told him that we would pull up and wait for it. Like I said, out of two restaurants, He was the only one that was actually nice! When we pulled up to the window, we saw a bunch of customers waiting in line on the inside and, except for the young man that took our order, the rest of the staff, (and a guess that included the shift manager too) was just standing around, clustered up and just carrying on in conversation! Not working at all, just talking! By the way, the young man that took our order was The Only One that left his post at the register, came outside and personally brought our order to us, he even apologized for the inconvenience! Was he the only one in that restaurant really taking his job seriously?!? Maybe he needs to be the Manager and the rest of them be either retrained or replaced! If it wasn't for the courtesy of this "one young man" (I wished I could give you his name) that was working on December 30, 2022 at the Merrillville location, around 4ish PM, I wouldn't have rated this with a second star and we would've decided not to go to any Popeyes Chicken and I'm confident in thinking that I wouldn't be the only one that feel...

First of all, if you have the Tmobile Tuesdays app and get the Popeye's offer DON'T use it here!
We got to the drive thru and stated we wanted to use the offer. The offer was "Get a Free Chicken Sandwich with any $5 Purchase"
Took awhile before they even recognized the offer (come on this isn't a new thing, TMobile has given out these offers before). The lady at the window got the manager, and the manager said "You have to spend $10 if you want to use the offer in the drive thru. If you order in the app then it's $5".
Where does it state that in ANY of the terms and conditions?! It clearly states with a $5 purchase NOT $10, regardless of how you order and pay.
So after that fight, we decided to get a gift card to use on the app (I don't like to connect my card to any app, I usually use gift cards)
For future reference you CAN'T pay with a gift card in the app, only a debit/credit card.
We ended up having to pay $10 to get the free sandwich but however, that lead to problem #2.
We stated there were 2 separate orders because 2 of us had the offers. Two SEPERATE paying customers. They refused to acknowledge the concept of carpooling. After a long fight, the manager then asked "Do you have 2 different phones with the offers?" to which we said yes. (It doesn't take a smart person to figure out 2 SEPERATE orders means 2 DIFFERENT phones 🤦♀️)
After that battle we get to the window. First order of food was fine, everything was there. Second order they thought we wanted 12 biscuits when we clearly stated we wanted 12 biegnet desserts. That had to be corrected (which btw we found were undercooked when we got home; put them in the toaster to cook them longer). Also 3 of the 5 sandwiches we bought were slightly soggy. Thankfully nobody got sick.
In summary, the offer was not worth the headache. Who knows what the truth is. The manager probably just wanted that extra $5 sale, so we were probably scammed.
I'll try Valpo next time. This location is a joke and a scam.
In fact, skip using that offer and skip Popeye's altogether. Go to Chick-fil-A. Their chicken sandwich tastes better...
Read moreThe line to the drive thru was around the building. No big deal so I went into the store to order. There was a sign on the door that stated "No more than 5 people in the lobby at a time". Again not a big deal there where 2 people eating and one sitting waiting on his order. I placed a small order and took a seat. During this time more people enter the store. Now at this time there is probably 9 people in the store. The manager starts yelling NO one can read, they can't READ my sign. NO NO NO NO. She starts raising her voice at her front cashier. He was super kind and polite you can tell he just wanted to do his job. 20 mins later he looks at me and said what is your order number again. I said 112 he apologized for my wait and said he would put my order together. Now the manager is on her cellphone stomping through the store on the phone with someone "Explaining that THESE PEOPLE DONT KNOW HOW TO READ A SIGN I AM OVER IT" and she pulls the signs off the door and locks them at 8pm at night. Okay cool 25mins later I still do not have food. She looks at me and says "What are you waiting for". Well ma'ma the food I paid for almost 30mins ago now. That sweet kid was bagging my order, and I went to the counter top again he says "I am so sorry ma'ma I hope you have a great night". The whole time she is talking down to her staff. I know companies need people to work but the way she handled her staff, and customers is probably the reason they are always hiring. So I got the food great I will leave have a good night. Mashed potatoes and gravy dry, Red beans and rice dry, fries cold, wrong chicken. DO I wait in the drive thru now for another 30-40 mins? Nope I will just count it as a loss and go home. I really wish they could get it together POPEYES food is wonderful, but the customer service level & freshness of food is not there!! Sad It's always a fight just to get what...
