Laker Inn — Hotel in Russell Springs

My teenage daughters and I stayed at Laker Inn for two nights recently. The lobby desk staff are very friendly, helpful, and there is ice cream offered if wanted in the lobby area for a cheap price! I was charged 89+10 for tax/fee per night for room #112 in the back area.

The room looked older, but it is an older motel. If anything were stained, didn’t appear Brand New, well, it isn’t a Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn after all! I have seen many people complaining, writing bad reviews, expecting refunds, and FREE nights at a motel. I can’t believe you! You try to persuade many people AWAY because you want FREE service!

I can see where the workers become frustrated, turning people away, taking a key card back, and stating: Goodbye! You are either serious about doing business with the motel or aren’t serious. If you want everything to perfection- go to Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn! You get the type of service you pay for!

Stained sheets, comforters, etc aren’t going to KILL ME! I’m sure everything is washed, but you can’t eliminate stains. If a motel replaced everything- comforters, sheets, chairs, old furniture, etc, they would definitely have to file bankruptcy! I’m also am NOT afraid of roaches, but I didn’t see any roaches. I’m definitely NOT complaining like the crybabies on here wanting FREE service! Grow up!

I was also given extra towels, since I had 4 guests- 3 teenagers, as well as myself. The 2nd night was just my two teenage daughters, but the 1st night my daughter’s boyfriend stayed the first night with us. They did provide two towels; however, they only provide 2 because there may be 2 guests in a room with 2 beds. I requested more towels, which the man (don’t know his name) provided me. He also provided me shampoo, soap, and a trash bag upon my request. If you don’t have everything you need, you go to the front desk, and ask for anything you may need (within reason)! Duh! Where is the common sense of some people? I doubt they have any! They’re just outright people with stupidity. I usually ignore people like them, use my own judgment, and know I get what I paid for.

The room was clean, (the fridge was cold), trash can had a trash bag provided, but I needed an extra bag because we are a family. Families tend to have more trash than a single person alone!

The light above the sink outside the bathroom worked, lamp light above the end table between the two beds worked, the remote worked fine, the tv had many channels, my teenagers loved the cartoon channel, and volume worked fine. The chair provided was a bit older; however, as I stated above (stains won’t kill me), and you get what you pay for! :)

The tub was clean, we used a washcloth to keep the water in the tub, and water pressure was fine. Cold, warm, and hot water all worked fine. A health department isn’t needed to investigate! I didn’t see any roaches, snakes, or mold at this motel! If a health department were to investigate- they would probably be as stupid as the people complaining wanting FREE nights!

I had an enjoyable experience overall. If I ever need a room in the future, I know which motel I will be coming back to!

The environment was very quiet. If it wasn’t quiet, well, you can’t expect perfection as ANY, as well as ALL motels/hotels have thin walls!

I enjoyed doing business at this motel! Thank you for being professional, friendly, and helpful!

Stayed here for 2 months due to a less-than-fortunate housing situation, $80/night cash or $88/night with card (because they claim processing fees are that high...yeah right). Wouldn't offer any kind of discount other than a nightly cash discount, they don't offer free breakfast as advertised, gym is not open and is crammed full of storage junk, laundry room is out of order and has been the 2-2 1/2 months we stayed, rooms are may as well be trap houses, dirty and have holes and mold everywhere, we managed to get the only decent room. House keeping is a joke, the house keeping lady seemed high most of the time and was even reported by other house keepers as doing meth in some of the rooms and stealing customer items. Housekeeping would rarely come by or even ask if we needed anything, brought blood stained sheets once. Don't get me started about the service at the front desk, it was primarily ran by what seemed like teenage or early 20's kids and children of the owner that never really seemed what to do or what was going on, always had a hateful attitude but boy they sure would take your money. Even though your receipt said check out was 11 AM they called at 9:30 AM every morning to let you know check out was at 10 AM. They are not very understsnding at all either. The owner is always gone as well. Then, to top it off, the kids that worked the office just disappeared one weekend and lt the crackhead housekeeper work one night and messed up a card we had on file from a family member and couldnt get it to process, got her card locked up for fraud, then, the very next day another toothless clerk that seemed high out of her mind charged the wrong card on file for over $300 from a person who had helped us previously and kept their card on file and got the police called on us and this lady thinking we had stolen her card when they charged the wrong card! They almost cost us a lot more than just money. They refunded the lady whom they chraged the wrong card which they should have, but then made us pay for the 4 nights they screwed up to begin with! I wouldnt stay here again if my life depndeded on it. They should have given us the 4 nights free for their mess up. False advertising, misleading services, lies and...

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I have NO IDEA how this hotel has a 3.9 or 5/5 stars! This place is the MOST DISGUSTING hotel I have ever seen in my entire life. Only my daughter and I were planning on staying one night and had prepaid for the room online. We arrived very tired from a long day. There were men hanging out all over the balconies watching us and one followed us to our room and sat on the curb by our door. I did NOT feel safe and went to the office to tell him I did not feel safe and our door didnt lock. He said 'sorry I cant refund your money'. There was literally poop on the ceiling in one corner of the room. One bed had pee stains on the boxspring. The room smelled AWFUL and there was absolutely no way we were sleeping on the crumpled up very dirty comforters. We didnt even make it to the bathroom before walking out. I cant comment on that but from the looks of the rest of the room I dont want to even imagine what it looked like. I was not given a refund ($100.00) but it didnt even matter for our safety and peace of mind. We did NOT stay there. We drove down the road to Cumberland Condos and it was a complete 180.
