Ocean Blue Asian Fusion — Restaurant in Safety Harbor

Stopped by after 10 pm 3 days ago... And saw the sushi chefs cleaning...told to return tomorrow night as they are open late nights on weekend, I listened and when friends opted for a late night burger, I found my way back... It took awhile for service to appear but aBen' s concoctions were par on. The chefs talkative. Tonight, I returned and tried Joy's handiwork. The place is attractive and the owner savvy in her choice of sushi chefs. It is not a zen like experience but in my short time in SH, I ve come to realize late night supper is hard to come by. Of note, after 10 there is a reduced menu.. And I have discovered a happy hour exists from 430 to six or so... Attractive as rolls are 4 dollars along with drink specials. Unfortunately no one shares this info! Must admit they are a quick study- had let it be known I was dismayed at the "only you" reception the first night. Tonight, it was pleasant. 2 suggestions to the savvy proprietor- a wall behind the seats at the sushi bar. Uncomfortable to have door behind... And ability to have chefs take orders directly for those of s who will only do sushi! this is a hip Asian joint with tasty sushi and friendly chefs. A smile is worth a lot-. A smile invites us in and makes us come back. A smile recognizes and welcomes...

I moved here from San Francisco and lived in Portland before that. If you know anything about those two cities, then you know I'm probably a food snob haha. I LOVE ramen and I'm used to having a zillion ramen eateries at my fingertips. Well since I moved to Tampa bay, I've been driving over an hour for a good ramen (I'm a foodie, I'd walk a marathon barefoot and on my knees for good food 😂🤣). I stumbled upon this little gem on a food delivery app on a random late-night; I had zero expectations but I was starving. I don't eat meat so I ordered the soy broth ramen sans the pork. Ladies and gentlemen I was not disappointed! It was soooo yummy! I may or may not have licked the bowl clean🙊🙈 I've gone back three times now! Happy to only have to drive less than ten minutes for my ramen runs :) Looks like they have a bar area too; I will have to drag the girls over for a sit-in! Thanks guys for accommodating a non-meat eater 🤗

tl;dr: If you love ramen, try these guys. They make yummy ramen 😋 And their drinks...

The food was not particularly good, though the portions were adequate. Our waiter seemed quite unsure of himself.

And now comes the most important part: our bill was around 90 dollars, but the waiter simply charged 20 dollars more when one of my family members gave him the card in trust. He took the liberty of adding extra money even though we trusted him with the card. On top of that, since we didn’t know about it right away, we also left a 5 dollar tip in cash separately, outside of the card payment.

This is absolutely unacceptable. My family member is a student, and that amount of money is a lot for her. In the end, he took over 30 dollars more from us, even though we had already spent 90 dollars as a group.

This place is definitely not recommendable. For me, honesty is a top priority, and here it was completely missing. Taste-wise, it wasn’t anything special either — never again. I would absolutely not recommend this restaurant if you value honesty and...
