Famous Greek Salads — Restaurant in Clearwater

This is a very rare bad review o my part. I would have given them one star, but I appreciate that they are a locally owned business, and the employee was pleasant and friendly.

I take issue with a restaurant willing to serve old food just because they still have it, and they may not be doing well. It’s a health risk, one that none of us are willing to take.

I ordered three gyros and one bowl of soup to go, the only soup is the only soup the restaurant makes so it should be a specialty. I know what gyros and soup should taste like, and that may have been how this food tasted - before it went bad. But it was bad. It smelled bad and tasted bad. The soup was foul, I had to spray my bowls and sink with Lysol to try to get rid of the smell. I had to wash my face and brush my teeth to get the smell off of me. So, how did it smell in the restaurant? Probably very bad. Did they know how old it was? How could they not?

The gyro meat. Not as bad as the soup, but gamey and off. The meat was cut into thick slices, about 5 thick slices to a gyro, not shaved. Thick slices of onion, sauce served on the side. And it tasted like it was starting to go bad. We know from the soup that it will be served until it is gone, it’s just a matter of time until the gyro matches the soup in how bad food can be.

The entire order went into the trash after a bite and some other tastes and opinions to make sure it wasn’t just me.

Again, I really shy away from bad reviews, but I seriously feel that my health and the health of my family was at risk. It’s not just inconvenience, a waste of money or boring food....

We ordered from here via the bite squad app couple of days ago and it was AMAZING! Generous portions and just great food, especially for the price! We not only had a good dinner but enough for left overs for lunch the next day and still had enough salad to go with dinner the following night! Though everything was super yummy the highlight of the night was the hummus...I am so glad we ordered the trio with traditional, red pepper and spinach & feta yet it still wasn’t enough, it was just that good! Of course the Greek salads and gyros were grand, we have to note the tzatziki was perfect...sadly through out the years you always stumble across places that miss the mark on what should be a fundamental with Greek food but NOT here, hands down the best tzatziki sauce! We all ordered different meals and we all shared and nibbled to try what each of us had but I ordered the Chicken Caprese salad for myself, the marinated chicken was nothing short of heavenly! The only thing that we were disappointed with was the mojo pork our oldest daughter ordered it was very dry. It could have been because we ordered later in the evening but there was so much food between all of us with such generous portions we all had plenty to share and delight in :) and we loved everything else I wouldn’t even take a half star away because everything else was wonderful, especially after a long and busy day! Most certainly will be ordering from here again or heck maybe dine in on a weekend! So happy we...

This place is Amazing. We have been customers since we moved here four (4) years ago. The only thing that was bad was the salmon. It was over cooked. I like mine RARE. Other than that, l just don't order the salmon because EVERYTHING ELSE IS OFF THE OPTIMUM CHART. I MEAN OPTIMUM !!!! Check me out as a food critic. I am one of the Top critics in the U.S.A. and l am telling you that the Famous Greek on Enterprise Road is totally Awesome. Prices are very reasonable. So reasonable that l don't even ask what the bill is. I eventually receive my debit card statement and that is soon enough. L0L. Save room for desert. The owner makes these coconut chocolate chip Macaroon cookies from scratch daily that are to die for. I take them home for my wife, who is the most difficult, fussy person who knows her deserts - - - She sez they are to die for !! I buy extra and stick them in my freezer. They freeze and thaw nicely. There is nothing you'll buy at the Famous Greek that you will NOT be satisified with. You have my word. Just the salmon and that is just a matter of personal preference. My wife orders the salmon all the time. Remember we have been going there over four years now. And again the prices are very reasonable. And the portion sizes are like any Greek Restaurant.
