Myself and friend went for a moms get away and stayed here based on reviews. We have both previously stayed at different bed and breakfast places and have never had this experience. Before I start the 1 star review I will say check in instructions were clear, no issues getting in and the location was great. Now onto the reason I’m giving 1 star. First, the smell. I do understand this is a very old house as are other ones I have stayed at, but the moldy mildew smell here was just about unbearable especially on second floor and the dampness in room 7 was horrible. Upon entering our room we noticed mold/mildew/extremely dirty ventilation and mold on the back of a chair. As well as no fire alarm. I did text the number that sent the check in instructions and asked if we could change to a different room but there was no other room available and I asked about the fire alarm which they said they had fire alarms and left it at that, no further responses. Keep in mind this is a non refundable stay. My friend and I chose to try and make the best of things and stay. The linens did not match on the twin beds and the sheets were so wrinkled like they had been in a ball before putting on. Let’s move on to breakfast. If anyone has stayed at a nice bed and breakfast one of the best things is the BREAKFAST and per reviews it was said breakfast was amazing here. It’s usually prepared by a chef or actual cook and is more gourmet. I’m not sure who has been writing the reviews for this place but the breakfast was far from gourmet. It was frozen waffles, microwaved bacon, store bought Walmart mini donuts/muffins and meat/cheese on a plate. They did offer eggs. At this point my friend and I are pretty shocked. The inn keeper there during breakfast and the day wasn’t the warmest and even vacuumed right under my feet and wiped off in front of the microwave as I was using it. No I wasn’t making a mess or even warming food it was a cloth to warm for my neck, the two twin beds in room 7 were pretty hard. Now some of the other rooms were left open our second day there because they were being cleaned and those room did appear significantly better than room 7. However the external bathrooms to rooms 3 and 4 did not. I will post pictures with my review and just want to give a heads up for future visitors and for anyone who is looking to try a bed and breakfast for the first time. This was not necessarily a cheap stay we paid over $400 for two nights so we did expect a decent B&B and experience. I wish I had taken more pictures of the other ventilation but like I said we were trying to make the best of things and...

Let me start with the positives: ||* Very clean which is a huge advantage ||Nice presentation for breakfast including personalized ordering options (eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, pancakes etc.,) in addition to typical continental breakfast choices such as muffins, bagels, fruit and toast. ||Location seems to be a win for proximity to other attractions. It is located right next door to an elementary school so early weekdays may not be a day to sleep in due to loud vehicles and or staff/students/parents entering or exiting. ||Our experience was: ||No one on staff when we arrived. Posted paper on front door stating to call them “for a room”. We were confused since we had an actual confirmation but called anyway. Spoke with “someone “ who was pleasant but didn’t identify themselves. She gave us door entry, parking and room assignment instructions. We found our room on the second floor and were greeted with a tidy and comfortable looking room. A small refrigerator and coffee service was provided which we appreciated. Our room also had a private en-suite bathroom. We had dinner reservations so our initial time in the room was fairly short. Quiet time for all rooms was posted as being from 10 pm until 8am. After we returned from dinner, around 9pm, we noticed from the room next to ours that we could hear their conversation as well as the constant coughing for about a half hour. I found a throw blanket and stuffed it under a doorway that may or may not have made it adjoining. ||The bed was a “marshmallow” style bed that you sink into which was too soft for the two of us. The king bed could have used full sized pillows as well. Much too small for any real comfort. ||Lastly, the bathroom while fancy with s jacuzzi style tub does not have an actual shower but does have a hand held contraption to make do. The hot water faucet was only cold water in the sink so washing your face (or hands) had to be done from the tub. I brought this up to whomever was on the other end of the text and they said a repair person would be there by next week to fix. Hopefully, it’s not rented out again beforehand. ||**Tissues, a fan of some sort, and better bath towels would be a welcome improvement if the owners...
