This review is a recent experience of how much this place is deteriorating. We’ve been coming to this place annually for over 25 years.
This is a serious call to action for the property owners and manager - the importance of quality and service matter. Icy and militant treatment of guests is not helpful.
Our kitchenette room had a cockroach problem. As a frequent traveler, one cockroach doesn’t always mean an infestation but our room was infested. It became hard to relax and we felt horrible about witnessing this because we have been coming for so long and have built relationships with the staff.
However, how we were treated by the manager progressively declined and it became more obvious that this review needed to happen.
Each day, the roach sightings increased and we then asked the staff to spray. They did. No improvement. We were offered to switch to another room after initial complaints. We declined. The occupants, of the room offered to us, noticed cockroaches in their room too. They shared this with us once they were checking out.
We noticed ultrasonic pest repellers and bait traps in our room (which also adjoins another guest room) which was an indication that they had awareness of their infestation.
An apology from the manager was only offered once I apologized for having to give bad news. I tried to share feedback on how cockroaches move inside facilities and how spraying pushes them to hide and travel via plumbing holes. Since “our room was the only problem” because “no one else was complaining,” it was starting to become clear that defensiveness was more important than leadership or customer service.
There were active roaches all day (of course worse at night) and all sizes from nymphs to dime size which let us know that breeding has happened. We had roaches on the back of our toilet. We had to wash dishes repeatedly because they would crawl all over them in the cabinet and the silverware drawer along with our coffee pot. We placed everything we could inside our refrigerator.
Nothing else was offered to make this right other than saying an exterminator was called and that we had to vacate the room for an appt for them to spray. We then followed up on why the exterminator still hadn’t showed after 2 hours and the response was “sorry, that’s just the way it is.” It was our final day so we left for our flight home with ill feelings and disappointment of the manager’s behavior. Don’t know if the room was addressed.
This is a serious health issue for not just us but the staff who works there - the bandaid repairs are not sufficient. Take action and get this once amazing and special place...
Read moreI had left a negative review here to receive emergency help when my toilet broke. I am a nurse & i was booked here to take care of a disabled boy nearby, a few weeks later my coworker went as i now have long-term school obligations & couldn’t go. When the company saw the boys parents book the room they refused the stay because of my review. Fortunately they let my coworker stay there obv they must’ve realized that my review had nothing to do with him or the family.
The negative review was to be utilized as a last resort since I couldn’t reach anyone about my toilet (planned to take it down within 24 hours). The next day i was able to speak to someone & the situation was fixed the same day. When i was leaving my stay i tried to small talk with the manager so that i can bring up the review & reassure her i would remove it (i also wanted to mention some hygienic things like black dirt all over the bed that looked like it might’ve came out of the AC) & she didn’t want to give me the time or day to ask a few Qs which was very weird & rude. I decided i wasn’t going to rush to take down the review (i would have then & there if we could’ve just talked a bit). After careful consideration i can not remove my negative review because of how rude the manager is. I decided to call today this morning 3 weeks after trip (just learned now about the hard time they parents had booking) in order to explain that i didn’t mean to leave the review up more than 24 hours. I only called out of kindness as it’s not something i need to do for myself since i can not travel for a while . She asked me “why didn’t you talk to me”. i told her that i did try but you walked away from me then she wanted to hang up. I called to give her another opportunity to treat me with respect but she failed again. Even if she was a little upset but had some level of empathy about my situation i told her i had a very high fever & was very sick when i needed help with the toilet that was beginning to smell bad maybe we couldn’t came to a mutual understanding. If she doesn’t care neither do I. was trying to look out for her sake only as i don’t need to reconcile for myself but she couldn’t have any level of...
Read moreThis is the kind of hotel that feels like home and never want to leave. They have rooms for every kind of visitors. Lareger room with separate bedrooms and pull out bed couch. Kitchen to make your own family meal or for your own. Publix supermarket just across the street has plenty of pre- made food that is incredibly cheap but taste like a fancy restaurant food. Many folks loves to buy burger meat , steaks, lobsters or even fish you caught nearby and cook them on their large Bar- b- Q stand right out by the pool. I personally love the scenery and the peaceful tranquility of the Gulf Beaches right at your door step....well practically. The pool also is relaxing and love sitting by the pool during the fool moon. If you are a partier there are a big liquor store nearby, but stick to the Publix supermarket where you can't beat the price. I had lived on St.Pete Beach on Vina Del Mar and wish I knew about this place so I could have taken my family from up North . here. I won't go anywhere else. This is like MY home. Next visit will be with my 2 daughters. After coming here several times, I met a lot of locals during off season which is the best time to go. There are rooms for one visitors & still provide you with a small fridge and the room is so cozy. If you are on your own a one room is just as 👍. I love it and love St.Pete Beach. The sunsets is exquisite as well as the Sunrises. The house keepers are very helpful and respect your privacy. The grounds keeper is a hard worker but all filled with a gracious smile. I came here to just get a place that would help my thinking while writing a book. Now I have lots to write about so I may have to come here again.. Three wonderful ladies who runs the place are very pleasant and will do the best to meet your needs. If you have a favorite room make sure to reserve way in advance. Though all the rooms are great, some have favorites. People are friendly and come from all over the world. Try it here and will keep coming back. Many are regulars who wouldn't go...
