I have been a loyal patron of Spinners for many years, especially when it came to celebrating Christmas dinner. The restaurant had always been a symbol of extravagance and holiday cheer. However, my recent experience at Spinners was far from what I had come to expect from this once-magnificent establishment.
Let's start with the food – it was, as always, exquisite. The culinary team at Spinners continues to deliver on the promise of exceptional cuisine. Each dish was meticulously crafted, showcasing the skill and creativity of the kitchen. I must applaud the chef for maintaining the high standard of food quality that Spinners is renowned for.
However, the same cannot be said for the service we received during our visit. In the past, the service at Spinners was top-notch, but this time, it was a stark departure from what we were accustomed to. The service was slow, bordering on neglectful, and at times, downright rude. It's disheartening to see such a decline in service quality at a restaurant that prides itself on excellence.
One of the reasons we chose Spinners for our Christmas dinner was the enchanting holiday ambiance they used to provide. In previous years, the restaurant was beautifully adorned with festive decorations, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. This year, however, I was left disappointed. The only decorations we found were five small, cheap-looking wreaths scattered throughout the dining room.
To make matters worse, when we ventured into the hotel lobby in search of some holiday spirit, we found a small, poorly decorated tree hidden away in the far back corner. It felt as though the management had completely disregarded the tradition of creating a magical holiday atmosphere.
Additionally, the absence of a special Christmas Day menu, which had been a highlight in previous years, was a letdown. It seemed as though Spinners had lost its commitment to providing a truly festive experience for its...
Read moreIf you take a reservation for 5 deliver on it or let the customer know what will really happen. Especially when asking for a card to hold the spot.
First off we take the elevator and get let out by the kitchen due to the other elevator being down. No big deal but the hostess with glasses and blonde hair just looked at us instead of waving us over and pretend to be bored or something I have no idea. After a few minutes behind a curtain a waiter told us where to go. We had to tell others the same thing when we left who were lost leaving the elevator dodging waiters with trays of food coming and going.
What blows my mind is the host stand moves and they are just lazy. MOVE THE THING TO WHERE GUESTS COME IN!
Once at the host stand I had a reservation for 5 via OpenTable, and they sat us as a 4 top. I asked what happeend to the 5 and she goes “ill have to pull up a chair”. I asked what happenend to 5 and can we pull up another table? She just stared at me and walked away then slid a chair at the corner then said have a good night.
We come from the hospitality industry and people like this are cringe!
I came close to leaving right there if my family didn't stop me. The waitress said we are small and we try to fit everyone in. Though, on our way out there were two tables together with 5 people at it and much more comfortable. So they can do it but just didn't want to (”an eight top was coming” but never showed up too)
Will never go back and I hope the hostess and manger who is the root of the problem take classes in hospitality soon.
Good to see the place sucks as much as it did 5 years ago!
Food: sysco truck food, octopus was not grilled and just boiled with a horrible skin on it, the rib eye was done in a pan and was maybe 1/2 inch thick (Publix has better steaks).
Overall if you like bland food and bad management you hit the spot!
Waitress did what she could knowing the rest and could do better at another...
Read moreLet me start by saying the view is absolutely spectacular. The drinks are limited but the bartender was talented and made delicious cocktails. So, my fiancé and I came to dine in after spontaneously changing our plans for the evening. We arrived and caught the beautiful sunset while we waited for a host to finally attend to us. Once she acknowledged us, she apologized for not having a table ready and said we could sit at the bar, which was no problem to us at all. Before we could sit down at the bar, she came back over and said she had a table ready, great. Before she could give us our menus, she stated that she didn’t want to turn us away but that they have a strict dress code for dining in. My fiancé had on a designer t-shirt similar to majority of the men in the restaurant. Yes I had on shorts, a blouse and designer sandals but was confused when I looked around and saw other tables near us dressed as if they just came from the beach. At that point I had to convince my fiancé to stay because he didn’t feel that we were treated fairly or the host telling us this once we were seated in front of other guests was appropriate or professional. If there’s a strict dress code, enforce it. If not, don’t say a thing, or seat us outside.
We dine very regularly at higher priced, fine dining restaurants but the price of the menu, the quality of the food and so called dress code which majority of the restaurant didn’t follow doesn’t add up. We were more than happy to spend over $200 on a bill, because of the beautiful view and our server Matthew was great. Going forward after hearing so many great things about this place, I don’t think we’ll be back. We only recommend coming for the view. Make sure you make other...
