Hideaway Sands Resort — Hotel in Saint Pete Beach

I am an owner here and I won’t stay here again. Rooms and property are filthy. No housekeeping or maintenance workers on site regularly. Housekeeping is only Saturdays and Wednesdays for towel changes that come tied in plastic garbage bags. I never did see a maintenance person. Interior furnishings are super cheap, “Sauder-like”some drawers didn’t close. Rust and peeling paint on stairs, handrails. Vents, ceiling fans, bathrooms just gross. There was hair on the ceiling in the bathroom and on the extra blankets in the closet. All the linens and pillows are old and terribly worn. Smokers and full butt collectors sit out everywhere. Unless you love the smell of cigarette smoke all day, everywhere, this place is not for you. Loungers by the pool and cheap plastic chairs on the beach deck are dirty and stained. The cabanas are barely usable because they’re buried in sand. I’ve been going to Hideaway since I was 8 and this is the worse it’s ever been. The office staff can be rude, socially awkward, and have an excuse for everything. They stand outside the office and smoke many times a day. The only good things were that the pool water was clear, there were a few nice pieces of resin furniture on the deck and the beach is beautiful!! Go elsewhere until management and the board gets their act together and uses rental and owner fees to make REAL improvements!!!! Until...

This resort wedsite is very deceptive. We stayed in a town house and it is very small. But let me back up a minute. There is very limited parking. One slot per unit. So if you have family or friends coming to visit forget about them having a place to park anywhere near the resort. There is absolutely no overnight parking anywhere for your family. To get to any unit you must climb a flight of stairs (no elevator). Once inside everything is close and crowded. The bedrooms are up yet another flight of stairs. When you go into the master bedroom, you better be ready to go to bed because there is room for nothing else. Oh there is a "small" balcony out from this bedroom but dont get to excited, the ac unit is out there with the table and 2 chairs. It's loud, noisy and the ac unit blew out hot air so you couldn't tolerate being out there. The only good thing I have to say about this place is the staff is over the top friendly and helpful. Needless to say I will not be staying here again and will not reccomend...

From the moment we arrived we noticed that this would be a different experience. We had a two bedroom townhouse suite but the stairs are an issue for one that has significant difficulty with stairs. The manager offered an efficiency but warned us that it "would be small". The unit they offered was very adequate for our needs and provided the best location we could imagine. The staff were always on the ball with property maintenance each morning and the office staff were always helpful, pleasant, humorous, and gracious. This is a facility that provides the small items needed at no cost and has a sufficient supply of any items needed from pool towels to dish soap! The pool is small but more than adequate. The beach is beautiful and the sunsets are amazing. We certainly plan to return and will try to make this one of our regular timeshare stops.
