The Don Cezar Beach House Suites has alwas been our favorite place to stay in Florida. We have been comming for over 15 years and stay either in June or July. When they did the room renovations 2 years ago I decided I did not want to come back any more because in my opion they destroyed the practicality of the rooms and especially the Kitchen. They used to have full size refriguators and a nice oven and stove which was replaced with a really cheep mini refrigerator and stove with no oven. The purpose of a beach house is to have a full size kitchen and rooms with closet space that accomidates both the wife and husbands clothing which was changed to 1 closet which is a big problem when you are staying for a week like we do every year and no closet space like they used to have. The hole room setup is totally impractical and it looks modern but that is not what I stay there. I want good service which they have, I want a nice beach which they have, I want a nice pool which they have. I want a full size kitchen which they did have and now do not have, I want a nice room with 2 closets which the did have and now do not have, I do not want to pay extra for parking which they did not charge for in the past, I want a refrigerator that works which they used to have and now its just these cheep mini refrigertors that don't work so I now have to ask for a second frig with a frezzer because the ones they supply you with do not have a frezzer that works. I eat at the Don all the time but a noon I like to sit on the balconey and have a ice cream at my convience from my own room or a drink of some kind. I did come back last year but I did have to ask for a second refrigerator because the one supplied in the room did not work at all. I also expect good glasses to drink out of and silver ware and bowls which used to be very nice and are not cheep plastic which I refuse to use. They also remove the cabinets in the kitchen so if you buy bread or ceral or chips there is not place to put them. I hope the new owners of the Don Cezar fix these problems because in my opion the last owners ruined the rooms and the practicality of basically every aspect. Any other Beach House in Florida come with a full size refrigerator, kithen cabenets, nice drinking glasses, dishes, silverware etc., and decent closet space. I love the motel but I really...
Read moreWe booked this place the day we arrived . We originally booked the Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach . while that hotel was beautiful (they even upgraded us to a gulf front room ) we HATED the area. Too crowded.. construction snd people everywhere .. the beach was across the street - you had to valet park your car. We stayed one night and checked out early the next morning . I checked to see if the Beach House Suites were avail as we left there -it was so I booked it . We went to a Yankee game that day and arrived at the hotel around 5:30. We checked in (which was very easy ) was offered some drinks .. and went to our room . We had the end unit on the same level as the lobby .. on the south side of the bldg. the room was ADA accessible and was a full handicap room. The shower just had a curtain instead of a door and a bench that we could put out shampoo and stuff on it, but it was fine -actually easy to use. We had a full washer and dryer which was nice - a kitchen so we could have breakfast and lunch . (The fridge was a bit loud sometimes ) The living rm area had a sofa bed and TV . The bedroom was a bit small but had A TV as well. The C/AC worked well . The beach was wonderful .that is the reason we came here for . Complimentary chairs and umbrellas on the beach. Alex and Fabian were great and got you all set up for a day at the beach . It was not overcrowded (unlike the hotel I originally booked ) and we had a nice relaxing stay. Some great restaurants nearby . One note though.. (we found out the hard way) if you go over the causeway at the Don Caesar Hotel towards St Pete downtown area, there is an unmanned cashless toll of $1 . If you don’t have some kind of pass (sunpass, easy pass,) you will get a surcharge from the car rental company ($20 in our case) on top of the $1 toll that we couldn’t pay. We didn’t go in the pool -it was kind of small, but we wanted to be on the beach. We didn’t utilize the Don Caesar hotel but we did walk down and checked it out . We would definitely come back here and would recommend...
Read moreOur stay at The Beach House Suites couldn’t have been more enjoyable. We walked in off the street and Amy the manager booked us in a 1 bedroom/2 bath suite overlooking the pool with ocean views. The room was huge, in great condition, and spotless. (I can’t imagine how long it must take to clean these rooms, they’re like an apartment) The room had a modern look and feel with an emphasis on comfort. The balcony was huge and the views just don’t get any better.
All the staff were super friendly and helpful. When we mentioned we have allergies, right away they sent up big fluffy cotton pillows to replace the down ones.
At the beach they give you three loungers and an umbrella to enjoy which work great, but on our last day we treated ourselves to the the Deluxe Cabana Day Bed and the experience was amazing!! Fabian was super friendly and helpful. He checked on us regularly to make sure everything was perfect and if the sun moved or if we got too hot he was right there to fix our shading. Porsche brought us tropical beverages from the pool bar and made sure we were well hydrated. She even brought our credit card up to the room when we forgot it at the bar… oops, it’s possible we may have been a little too hydrated.
We worked remotely and after checkout we had a few hours to burn before our flight took off so they let us use their conference room to get some work done. It was set to a perfect 70 degrees and it even had a window view which beats any office I’ve ever worked from before.
Side note: This was actually our second stay in a month. When we got home from our first trip we missed it so much we booked another flight two weeks later and returned. Since finding our little slice of paradise at The Beach House Suites we’ll definitely be returning again, and hopefully...
