Walgreens — Local services in Saint Pete Beach

Very disappointed in Walgreens this evening on St Pete Beach I have lived here for over 20 years and I was actually doing an order for doordash and they decided to close 15 minutes early this evening Saturday March 9.... They would not even open the door to come tell us why they were closing early or answer the phone so now I have a very disappointed VIP client that I cannot bring them the medication they so desperately need after spending a long day on the beach since they do not live in Florida they were enjoying too much sun and fun.... Very unprofessional of Walgreens I understand things happen and computers go down and whatnot however at least have the common decency to come speak to us and let us know what the deal is or God heaven forbid pick up the phone... When you cater to the tourist like we do and our beautiful little town of St Pete Beach. We have been a regular customer of Gigi's pizza across the street from this Walgreens. The parking lot at Gigis is very small and many times not a parking spot is available, so we park at Walgreens which has plenty of parking spaces. They let Gigis customers and employees park and in return Gigis gives them free or discounted food. Now a new manager comes along, Valerie Ware, and decides that Gigis employees and customers can no longer park in Walgreens parking lot, which always has more than enough parking. She sent a letter to Gigis and threatens to tow customers and employees vehicles if they park in Walgreens lot. Corporate arrogance, greed, and plain not a good neighbor. There are now several loyal Gigis customers who will boycott any and all Walgreens stores. Shame on you...

The store is always clean, well organized and well stocked. When there is a line at the check-out, they try and call for backup from the back of the store. This Walgreens does carry a good selection of cold beers and wine; they do not have hard liquor at this location. Writing this review to specially give the fantastic pharmacy staff a giant shout-out. When they get busy, there will be a wait, and they quite often need to take time to deal with issues caused by insurance providers - this is a common challenge faced by every pharmacy across this great country.
