We were allocated apartment 511 on arrival. Smelt musty when we walked in & in need of a renovation!!! Twin beds were a sofa type wicker sofa & a trundle bed that pulled out from underneath in a very small room!! ||Rang the office & a lady did come straight away to see us. Explained that we weren't happy with what we had been allocated (she told us it is the most complained about apartment!!!) ||We moved to apartment 505 which was much better but same beds in spare room!! Really not suitabe for 2 adults. Very squeaky & not very stable!! ||Sofa bed mattress was terrible & could feel every spring. Blinds broken in the lounge.. Asked for these to be fixed & was done a couple of days later. ||Our friends were in 307 & it was a lovely. No complaints on that one. ||Allocated 2 parking spaces but as we were in a van we couldn't fit in them as they were under the building. One of the spaces was being used all week by someone from the office anyway. Not a problem but didn't appreciate having a notice put on our van saying we needed to move it as we were parked in a reserved space!! We only parked there as the trees were being cut as there was no where else for us to park!!! ||Maybe the office shouldn't park in a guests reserved space either!! ( they didn't know we would be in a van & were already parked there when we arrived)||All things considered we had a lovely time & the views from the apartment were lovely & pool area were kept spotless & office were very helpful. ||I do think the twin bed description is very misleading on Booking.com & would book direct if I...
Read moreDear Vistas on the Gulf,
I almost never send letters of this type. However, our stay was the single most unpleasant that I have ever had in St Petersburg Beach. While the accommodations were very nice the stench of mold and mildew in the room was so bad that it caused serious problems with my allergies, I had the pleasure of taking my two granddaughters on spring break as well as visiting my mother who lives in the Beau Monde Condos. When we arrived home my wife made me unload my suitcase in the garage and put my clothes in a garbage bag before bringing them into the laundry room. It took three washings to get the smell out. This condo is badly in need of fumigation. My wife and I are blue water sailors and I can tell you that our boat never smelled at all. I do not recommend that you rent it out again until you take care of this. Part of the problem is that you left the air conditioner blower on all the time. Condensed water in the cooling unit collects mildew and mold. When the blower stays on after the compressor turns off that moldy water is re-evaporated and blows through the condo. I do not believe that we will ever stay there again. Sorry. Thank Heaven for the Beach...
Read moreGood building, units are hit or miss. The building is clean , in a safe area, and well maintained. You will enjoy a pool, grill, jacuzzi, and plenty of seating. All floors have a balcony that overlooks the gulf on the entry side and a private balcony where views vary. The unit we usually rent wasn't available, so we chose until 511. I wouldn't stay in this unit again unless it was refurbished. The positives of the unit are that, since it is a front unit, you get extra windows. The master bedroom seems to be recently redone and has a new carpet. The paint is pretty and fresh, and there are lots of beachy touches. The con is that almost everything else needs to be replaced. Most of the appliances are outdated, and the kitchen items are old and not great. Cheap silverware, mismatched dishes, not a lot of variety to use. Not a lot of essentials (no cutting board or colander). The beds are in good condition, but all of the other furniture needs to be replaced. The hard furniture is painted white but chipping. The upholstery is stained. There are no beach towels and the beach chairs have seen better days. We will stay at Vistas again, but...
