Where do we start... Upon arrival at 11:30pm the front desk was having issues with their card encoder that would assign us a card to access our room. Although Andreya (Front Desk) was amazing at juggling, not only getting no answer from their IT support and having about 4 families, including my own, waiting to be checked in, We did not get into a room until about 2:30am after the maintenance employee finally informed Andreya she has a key that would allow access to each room. When we finally got into our first room, the room was very humid and just smelt moldy. We also found a bug on the wall/ceiling and a large one on the bed. We went and talked to Andreya and she put us in a different room. In the second room, the bathroom tiles were cracked, the soap "shelf" was barely hanging on to the wall, which eventually on night two fell off and almost hit my wife's foot as she was using the shower. We also had a roach run across the bathroom floor on the third night. The room also had a faint unpleasant smell I cannot describe. On day two after brining up the changing of rooms and the shelf falling off of the shower we were told we would be comped one night stay. We were satisfied with that until the next night when we saw two roaches in the bathroom. The day after we checked out a manager called and said the only thing we can do now is an extra $50 due to us not bringing these issues to their attention immediately. We tried to explain to the manager MULTIPLE times that the only issue we did not report immediately was the soap shelf falling and that was due to it being about 3:30am and we reported it as soon as we woke up the next morning but everything else was told to the front desk as soon as it happened. Every day we stayed here which was for three nights it was just a new issue every night. We also were not the only family with issues we overheard another woman saying her room was so bad she was checking out early and going to different hotel. I attached all the pictures we took during our stay of all the issues. The pictures of the bug on the bed does not justify how big it was. Also Gregg who works the front desk was very unpleasant to deal with. It just seemed anyone who spoke to him was bothering him, like when we approached him with an issue or even if another family was just checking out. He visibly would roll his eyes as my wife would talk him or he would just walk away to do something as she was still talking to him. He would constantly interrupt other residence's as they were talking to him. He did not document any issues we had which is why it seemed to the manager that we waited until checkout to bring up all these issues. Another thing is Greg stated to his manager that we waited to report the shelf falling until we checked out and we told Greg not to worry about it and not to fix it, which is not true why would we tell him not to worry about it when we were checking out? Greg has no customer service skills at all and am shocked he is placed at the front desk (If he is even there and not walking around). When we would ask Greg to speak to a manager it was always met with "there is no manager available". We requested multiple times to speak to one but the only one that was available was the housekeeping manager. However, when another family was complaining about their freezer not working he said "Since there is no manager here I technically am the manager on duty" The only positive thing out of this stay was Andreya, her warming personality was very calming in a very stressful situation. She is the only reason I gave a two star for service or it would be a one. So if you stay here, which I suggest don't, if there are any issues, report them at all hours as soon as they happen even at 3:30am and MAKE SURE THE FRONT DESK MAKES A NOTE OF IT or else they will tell the manager you did not report it until checkout.

Most issues were resolved, and quickly and professionally, but will not stay here again... so..... now that all the mergers are all over, Marriott may need to focus attention on the condition of many of their hotels. I travel a lot and it seems there is less of an emphasis on the condition of many facilities, and more on saving money. My most recent stay here, was amongst the worse experience in all my years of travel staying in hotels. First, I will say the staff was great and very responsive. They seem to be doing their best, in most cases. This place is overall in well maintained shape. Pretty clean and spacious, food is good. Pool and jacuzzi worked, which isn't always the case. First, AC did not work, and they moved me and had to close that room. Second, roaches. Ewe. They happen, but I have never seen any in a Marriott. Killed 4 or 5. Second, black mold around caulk in tube. Tub is stained and drained slowly. Toilet seat was almost completely off. TV did not work. Now, they took care of all, not sure about roaches though...and no they were not palmetto bugs. Roaches. Coffee is available all day, but creamer is not. Guy at desk told me management is cheap when I asked why I had to ask for creamer. They used to keep creamer out. Computer in lobby is incredibly slow. Took forever to load, and then booted me out. Took over 30 min just to print boarding pass. Then I had to wait to get back in when booted to make sure my email was logged out, and it wasn't. Now I am picky, and very observant, but this is my first negative review of a Marriott, although the last few also had issues with being not too well kept and updated. I did write Marriott with all the details and made sure they knew staff was very responsive and professional. No beer or whine! 9/11 Update. Marriott gave me 10,000 points. Lame to me, given this was a terrible visit. Dover Residence Inn AMAZING! Night and day. Never, ever again. 9/17 Update. Marriott pretty much made me whole. And said they are addressing all issues.

Currently staying here and it is a trainwreck so far.! am a travel agent and so glad this was a personal trip and not for a client. We checked in around 4:30, gentleman at front desk was extremely nice. On first look room was fine. Typical of older residence inns. My husband used the bathroom, toilet wouldn’t flush. I called front desk , they said they’d send maintenance. Waited 15 min , never saw or heard from maintenance. We had two other rooms in our travel party so used one of them to finish getting ready as we were running late. When we left we stopped at desk to check status of maintenance and the desk clerk was a way with a sign stating so. So once we were in our car leaving I called in and again told of issue and told him we’d be out awhile but Maintenance was good to go in while we were gone. This was at 5:45pm.

We return back at 11:30pm, toilet still clogged , current desk clerk hadn’t received any communication about our issue. He tells us maintenance is gone and they are sold out except for a room that air is broken. He can not get manager or on call Maintenance to answer. He finally gets a maintenance guy not on call but told him where a plunger was. My husband used the plunger for 30 min and got it to go down some but still not operational. The desk clerk again was really nice and trying but was getting no support. He finally gave the option to use both rooms. So to sleep at least semi comfortable ( bed is another issue) we have to walk down the hall 3rooms to use the bathroom! Manager finally called him back , they will comp us tonight’s rate. Well that’s generous since we don’t have a complete working room! It’s a toilet full of poop or an a/c blowing hot air sounding like it’s gonna blow up! Husband went to new room and took a shower and tub was full of hair. Just totally done and would move now if we weren’t such a large party and it being 1 am. It’s now 2am my 8 year old had to go down the hall to the bathroom and we are finally going to bed. Someone in one of our other rooms called me and said their A/C isn’t working. Not even going to bother the young man at the desk at this point I know there is nothing else he can do. Will update with a hopeful solution in the morning and will probably be finding another hotel for the next 3 nights for our group. Oh no manager till noon tomorrow! Hopefully can get some kind of resolution before then from...

When I opened the door you could smell the musty Oder like it hasn't been cleaned for a long time. It just felt dirty. I emptied my cooler into the fridge and then checked the room. this was room 336 2 bedroom suite. The curtain was off the hooks and just dangling in the room the hooks were just laying on the floor. There were stains on the walls and the couch had white stuff on it. I checked the main bedroom and when I pulled the covers down there was a large stain under the sheet that you can see thru the top sheet. I went to the desk and asked if I can get the room changed and the girl was very helpful. She said room 226 was ready now and gave us new keys. She said that she will let the manager know as well. We went in the room and you can smell that the room was fresher then the last room. I looked at the bed and that was a lot cleaner but the wall in the main bedroom by the bathroom has a huge drip stain on it.The door to the closet was off the threads you couldn't open or close the door, the couch still had something on it that wasn't wiped down and when I went to the coffee table you can see the one leg had something that dripped down and dried on it. Then the kitchen the dishwasher was never wiped down because you can see the spots on the front door. There was a nasty dirty spoon in the disposal , I thought i was turning on a light and this loud noise started up from the disposal that's how I found the spoon.I called down to the desk and said they would send someone to fix it which they did. The maintenance guy fixed the doors but the room should of never been occupied till this was fixed. I had to take a washcloth and wipe the couch and table down. I threw the wash cloth and a hand towel in the corner bathroom floor so that they would give us new ones in the morning. I didn't say anything about this room which also was a 2 bedroom figuring they will all be like this. I was to tired from driving to deal with this. The next morning we went out to do things and I also bought Clorox wipes to wipe things down in the room. When we came back I thought that maybe the manager would try to reach out to me and that never happened not during the entire stay. I checked to see if they cleaned but the stain was still on the wall the dishwasher not wiped and the towels I put on the floor were hung back up. I seen the same spot so I know it was...
