We were shopping for costumes for our children when my 5 year old had to use the restroom. My husband asked one of the employees working the floor if they had a restroom. The employee asked if it was an emergency. The employee then escorted my husband and son to the front of the store to another employee. This particular employee was informed that my son had to go to the restroom. She then stares at my son and pauses as though she is thinking about the question asked. She then proceeds to tell my husband that they don't have a restroom. A third employee whispers to my husband that they have a restroom for employees only, but it has a lot of stuff in there. Are you implying that we are going to steal? My husband ended up walking our son to the nearby Marshall's to use the restroom. Once I was informed of the situation I quickly put back the costumes we intended to purchase and took my business elsewhere. A simple "no" without the run around would have sufficed. The situation seemed sketchy, but the part of the one employee looking (staring) at my black son with hesitancy to respond about having a public restroom or not took the cake for my family and I. We bought a doll for our kiddoâs birthday last night and within the hour she wanted to have another doll from another store instead. We tried to call the store to verify the return possibility but their automated menu says stores donât receive calls. So we had to turn around and drive all the way back across town to return the Halloween Doll immediately and even though it was only 30 minutes later, they wouldnât accept a return or give store credit or anything. Tags still on, barely made it to the other side of town, same cashier at the register. The manager who came to rush into our conversation and practically shout about the policy was so rude on top of the absurd policy.
