Longhorn has always been me & my friends. restaurant of choice for steak & we go to Salisbury once a month when we travel from Virginia. Until the last two visits they have been stellar. Two visits ago we ordered what we always get - the 6 Oz Flo’s Filet, the sweet potato, creamed spinach & a cup of the best ever onion soup. Always order the steak medium rare. When the soup arrived it was awesome, as usual. Same with the veggies. The steak was half the size it normally was n when I cut into the meat there was no signs of pink let alone red. I couldn’t eat the steak - simply because Steak cook too well done to me taste like liver - UCK!! I waited until the bill arrived then asked to speak with the manager. When he came, I prefaced the complaint with the fact I was not looking for a discount nor refund (having a business myself n know everything will not be perfect all the time). I explained that exactly to him n told him I welcome customer feedback at my business in order to improve issues that we may become ‘blind’ to happening. He was very concerned and after five minutes of haggling about discounts insisted that he himself cook another steak for me to take home. He did agree the steak was not the normal 6 Oz filet & definitely not medium rare. I took the steak home had it the next day and it was delicious. Fast forward to yesterday a month later. Everything a repeat on the order, after placing the order I asked to speak with so- n- so, the manager. He came over I refreshed him on the previous incident n thanked him telling him how wonderful the filet was even a second day after being prepared. Then the French onion soup arrived. Kid you not - jet black on top burned horribly. The waitress set it down in front of us n walked away. My friend started pushing the burnt bread n cheese to side n started eating her soup. I eventually took the whole smelly burnt to a crisp, carcinogenic layer off n put on my bread saucer. The waitress bubbly came to our table “ Is everything OK?” I said no it is not Look how burnt both of these soups are. You should have never even brought these to our table. She walked away n come later came back to ask if we wanted more wine. Then and only then she asked if I wanted to speak with the manager. I told her no that it would be reflected in the tip. Mind you it is not uncommon for us to tip 20 - 25% depending upon the quality of service, personality, etc. I know how hard servers work. I might add we arrived at 11:15 & there was only one other table there, so lunch rush - NO! Moral of this story - why cannot food be consistent at chain restaurants when all the cooks must do is read how to make the dish n monitor the preparation ? Needless to say,, we’re taking a break from Longhorn for six months. Maybe they can get their act...
Read moreIs great customer service a thing of the past???? I know it has been five years since I punched a time clock but every job I have ever had has been dealing with customer satisfaction. During that time I worked hard to make sure my customers left happy and wanted to return. Obviously that isn't the case for LongHorn Steak house. A few weeks ago I placed a curbside order and had a terrible experience. From being left waiting outside 15 minutes after checking in to having to go inside to pick up the food and then getting home to find our trays weren't properly closed and food spilling everywhere. To say it was a bad experience is an understatement. I'm usually not one to complain because having worked in the industry I understand short staff, training issues etc but when given the opportunity to give feedback on my order I took advantage of the opportunity. I didn't expect a response, but hoped that my feedback would be used to improve service. I received an apology email and a promise that a separate email from this location would contain a gift card for my trouble. Even though I had to send another email because the separate email never came, yesterday I decided to give LongHorn another chance. I placed my order for 4pm knowing it would be a slower time and there would be less chance of an issue. Boy was I wrong. Again my husband was left sitting in his vehicle waiting until he called the store to ask what was taking so long. While on the phone waiting for someone to tell him when his order would be ready he went inside and asked to speak with a manager. The manager comes out from the back and hands him our bag. No apology, no introduction, just stands there extending his arm with the bag dangling from his fingers. Disappointed and disgusted my husband grabbed our order and headed for home. Once home we realized our trays were correctly sealed this time (thank God) but all of our steaks were over cooked as we ordered them medium rare. Needless to say we won't spend another dollar at LongHorn or any Darden restaurant again until the customer...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked into LongHorn Steakhouse, the warm, inviting atmosphere set the stage for a truly enjoyable evening. The aroma of perfectly grilled steaks filled the air, instantly making our mouths water.
Our server was incredibly attentive and friendly, offering helpful recommendations and ensuring our drinks were always topped up.
For my main course, I opted for the lamb chops, cooked medium-rare, and I chose the asparagus with mac n cheese on the side. Lamb chops were cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, and seasoned just right.
The mac n cheese was also a highlight, packed with all the fixings and incredibly satisfying.
The sides were equally impressive. The fresh steamed asparagus was vibrant and perfectly cooked, and the seasoned fries were crispy and plentiful.
We also appreciated the complimentary warm honey wheat bread, which was a delightful start to the meal.
Throughout our dinner, the server checked on us regularly, making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive.
The service was prompt, and the entire staff seemed genuinely happy to be there.
The overall ambiance was comfortable and relaxed, perfect for a casual dinner with friends or a special occasion. Even though the restaurant was busy, we never felt rushed.
The portion sizes were generous, offering excellent value for the price.
Overall, LongHorn Steakhouse delivered a consistently high-quality dining experience. The delicious food, attentive service, and welcoming atmosphere made for a memorable evening.
