Let me start by sharing that I’m a long time Elite Bonvoy member, not to tout status but to back up my experience when I say that this has been the roughest experience I’ve had at any Marriott hotel in years after hundreds of stays across 40+ hotels, especially with the fact that I brought my pregnant wife (37 weeks) on this trip. I usually choose ALOFT because it’s consistent, reliable, and you truly know what to expect. At this location the only consistency was in the issues that arose. To start— the maintenance, cleanliness, and workmanship of this location at its foundation is terrible. There’s chunky white caulking, sloppy electrical, silicone, paint, grime in every single nook and cranny imaginable. The first chain of woes was the fact that our fire alarm went off in our room several times. The first time came around 3:30 AM. It startled us awake with its piercing cry, this triggered several Braxton Hicks contractions for my wife and we were worried that the adrenaline might’ve caused a premature push. After about 5 minutes the alarm went off by itself, we figured it was a false alarm— it took almost an hour to get my wife resettled. But, at 5:30 AM, just after she was asleep again it went off a second time. I ran out of the room to see if it was anywhere else, a lady across the hall happened to be leaving her room and we found that it was just our alarm going off, nowhere else, by the time I got back into the room it turned off again. My ultra pregnant wife who’s been struggling to sleep finally got back to rest with our morning being derailed only for our alarm to pull a 3rd wondrous screeching chime around 6:30 AM. We were now up for good and walked downstairs to change rooms. The front desk lady and what seemed like a manager were helpful but ultimately not oozing customer confidence because when they switched our room they locked us out of our current one (they said this wouldn’t happen after I asked about this specifically), which had all our stuff in it, which we discovered after my precious barrel bustin’ pregnant lady and I went all the way back up to the room. I left her at the bench by the elevator and walked back downstairs, the manager came back up and manually unlocked our door. We packed up and headed to a new room……… we unpacked, my wife is exhausted and desperately needing to sleep. She grabbed a shower in the new room before she laid down to rest. With the shower door “closed” we learned that water actively leaks all the way across the floor into the carpet of the room. When she stepped out onto the shower mat it was soaked, it slipped straight out from underneath her 37 week pregnant body and she fell hard. We have tried with every conceivable ounce to show grace and understanding to this place, but they have failed in the most ultimate way and I will never write a more angry review of a hotel the rest of my life. When a place is so disconnected that safety is neglected in so many ways it’s hard to muster an ounce of sympathy for anyone other than my wife and our little baby on the way. Makes me sad to have talked up how wonderful Marriott and Aloft are as the managerial staff offers us free muffins or breakfast for our troubles, my child and wife could’ve truly been harmed and they offer “stuff” as a consolation completely disconnected from being humans who care. We will be headed to the doctor back in Houston first thing tomorrow to check on baby and mama. For now we rest in our lap swim pool of a room and hope that this evening is uneventful and that my wife gets to sleep. Do better -or- tear this place down and rebuild. We came back in during a lobby staff meeting and if it were not for us trying to be understanding and show grace in some way I would’ve yelled at every single employee sitting in that circle as my wife limped by. Sorry we came here, can’t wait to check out. We should not come to a hotel and fear for our safety or well being. Period.

Our stay was exceptionally poor, our check-in went smooth but after that everything fell apart. We get to our room tired and our sheets have bodily fluid stains all over them, we call front desk ask for new blankets ,we have to make our own bed, shower had hair from prior guests. Looks like housekeeping just gives the room a lick and a promise they also took our Clorox wipes, we were there for Airforce duties. My wife and I we were there three nights, were consistently having to change our blankets because housekeeping put same nasty blankets on twice with bodily fluids on them and the third day we asked them not to enter our room putting our off the clock sign on the door before we left, so that the sheets and blankets we did get From makadia at the Front desk Isabel sent up to our room the night before with clean blankets would be the blankets we use the rest of our stay we thought problem solved but nope. We thought that the second time we found nasty blankets that the clean blankets that were brought up to us we would put the sign in the door so that we knew our blankets we use the night before we were clean, when we got back from the base but that didn’t happen housekeeping disregarded the sign on the door! still put nasty blankets on our bed this time had dirty sock in it with hair lots of hair everywhere in the blankets! Mind you we had been documenting all this through video pictures not to mention the nice girl that would come up every night and hear our complaints named makadia, said she would notate how many times she had to come up for these issues. We wanted to wash laundry on our last night before we left which are amenities you pay for and laundry facility was trashed, washing machine had out of order sign washer and dryer look like they’re from 1908, you have to pay for it which we didn’t mind but they didn’t work! another amenity promised and not fulfilled! So now we have to pack all our dirty laundry in our suitcases for our flight back the next morning. Now we are at our final day check out day,we get down to check out and gal by the name of Rebecca says we already checked out! huh 🤔 which was odd because it’s only my wife and myself ,we only have two key cards and I still have them! Rebecca went on to say that it happens often that people slip the the colored envelope the key cards came in the box and that means they checked out found that strange, there system at aloft is not very smooth! we explain to the gal Rebecca everything that happened and she said she would notate it and let a upper management know. We have not heard anything from upper management or anyone! We would not recommend this place to a homeless person if it was for free! We believe house keeping is very deceitful maybe housekeeping took the envelope that our two key cards came in that we threw in the trash the first night and put it in the box, so they didn’t have to clean the room, on the final day housekeeping seen us leave the very day we told them not to enter our room my wife spoke with housekeeping personally day before checkout with our bags, because we didn’t trust leavening our belongings in our room, after they stole our container of Clorox wipes and the consistent dirty blankets as well as leaving our tv on! Not Sure so we believe housekeeping thought we left because we had all our luggage they went in room anyway with sign on door ,we definitely didn’t get any sleep we didn’t get to use any of the amenities like the swimming pool the gym ,laundry we would definitely want a refund on our total stay! Couldn’t even use the...

Skipping hygienic cleaning hotel standards when cleaning is city health codes violation which a GM has approved to open the hotel. QHR administration believes they are "above" the law because they are headquarters in Dallas mainly an all anglo hotel management company simply the owner of the hotel doesn't care. Plenty of other options in San Antonio Airport. Staying at this hotel can be a nightmare Marriott pretty much sees Aloft brand "second class" sad oringally designed by middle eastern woman. W brand was ambitious most of the original designers manage apartment corporations now. Orginial designer have no control of the hotels.

Theme of the Aloft brand orginially under Starwood hotels resorts "Champion of true personality". This hotel would pressure staff to break deals with a non member of lower rank over higher ranking Marriott members. Aloft lost it's kindness under Marriott.

The upper management treat employees like second class one of the most toxic hotels near the airport.

The GM loves to lies she been called out numerous times by people that caught her. She will get her staff to lie for her. Her best friend is the area manager. Simple her and her crew are mean girls. So many Hispanic staff have worked here brought the exciting resilience of being Hispanic in south Texas and the growth of the west coast but QHR will make the work environment toxic eventually people quit. The GM would allow an employee to show up hours late on a regular basis when changing shifts she made it mandatory even though this employee had excessive tardiness because this person was a good liar for the hotel. One of her Hispanic female assistant manager made it point to escalate a situation with an African American female temp worker. GM made it seem asking for a lunch break was bothering her. GM would be last person to arrive first person to leave. Never once did the owner of the hotel check up on the operations. Allowing pets to stay at a hotel takes a lot of cleaning and fluid operations absolutely no cutting corners in cleaniness. Really unfortunate coming to a hotel to check in and the rooms smells like pets and has pet hair from a previous guest.

Hotels cost a lot of money to maintain the owner of the hotel is lazy. Why "disciplined" hotels make a point for staff to look for lipstick stains on cups before and after a dishwasher service exactly 💯 hotel is looks great but inside their can be a list of maintenance issues. This hotel was like a W hotel San Diego poor management ruined a good location and hotel. QHR hotels have their staff perform without any break. Car thieves frequent airport hotels this hotel could care less .

Plenty of hotels at the airport area mainly Hilton hotels match Starwood hotels and resorts.

FYI upper management approves of deleting emails for receipts upon automatic checkout. So hotel guest won't leave feedback to Marriott corporate.

Hotel company very aggressive the hotel management been accused by employees of writing fake good google reviews. Beware toxic and hostile work...
