A five star review for a very special reason. On 12/24/2020 in the evening, one of the long-time female bakery coworkers (whose name I won't give out) was there to assist me in picking up my cake that I had already paid for. While she went to the back of the house to grab my cake, another coworker (a male) immediately asked/demanded for me to wear a mask. I wasn't wearing one since the CDC says that the masks are RECOMMENDED, and NOT REQUIRED. Since all restaurants are following the CDC guidelines (which are not laws), then I do not have to wear a mask - so there's that.
ANYWAY, I said no to the mask. The coworker then said that he was not going to serve me (not knowing that the female coworker was already helping me, and that I already paid for the order in the first place). I did tell him that I was being helped though. After getting my cake that looked absolutely gorgeous, I happily thanked the lady who helped me and soon left.
So why the five star rating? Because the lady coworker showed TRUE SERVITUTDE and LOVE. She didn't heckle me over a stupid mask, she went right to her assigned job duties (not a silly mandate designed to turn restaurant workers into knock-off police). The male coworker had no idea that my order was already preordered, and would have risked the trouble of causing either a refund or losing a customer completely all to flex his minuscule superiority.

Read moreI want to encourage you not to eat here. I want to remind myself never to eat here again. The days when this was a good restaurant are over. The days when friendly people worked here are over. I ordered the croque monsieur And it was edible. I also ordered the chicken LA Madeline Is a few broccoli florets and wild rice with a creamy mushroom sauce. I remember this dish used to be served with oven roasted chicken that was visually appealing. I have a second grade student who could make me a more visually appealing meal and it didn't taste much better than it appeared. The children had 2 cheese pizzas which are frozen pizzas that have been reheated with some seasoning added . The problem with the children's meal is the price $5.39 well above the industry standard $3.99. Considering that it comes with a small entree a juice or milk or soft drink and an Apple sauce a little bit higher quality is expected. Add to this review the fact that LA Madeleine no longer offers free bread and jelly because presumably covid 19 makes that untenable. This is the last strong. I will never come back. To the owner of the business do not bother responding to this review I promise that I will...
Read moreHadn't been in a couple of years... Was disappointed this time.....I was needing a quick lunch and I ordered the sample plate with half a chicken friend...salad...cup of soup....shouldn't be too hard......looked pretty on my plate However, my french onion soup was barely warm the cheese didn't even finish melting.....the friand half was mostly pastry i barely got any filling it was like a pop tart ...just a smear and also barely warm at all....the salad was cold and good ...but i didn't have time to go complain i had somewhere to be so had to eat fast....it was cold out and i wanted a warm meal....was also disappointed in the hot chocolate.... The whipped topping was great when it first arrived but in less than a couple of minutes it had melted into an oily something sitting on top of my hot chocolate so I was a little disappointed..... I would assume that they had real whipped cream not a whipped topping.... I've always had pretty good experiences there so this is the first time but I shouldn't have to get up and go ask for my food to be hot especially when I'm in a hurry, so I didn't.....makes me not want to go back to this location which is very...
