My mom and I met here for lunch earlier today. It was a “cheat meal” for me, as I normally don’t eat carbs. First off, the staff here is very friendly. I got there before my mom and one of the servers (blonde, older woman) got the door for me as I was walking up and greeted me. When I sat down, it wasn’t long before our server greeted me and poured my water. But, even though I was waiting on another person, it took a while for him to ask if I wanted to order something. I finally ordered their small Mista salad, but forgot to tell him that I didn’t want croutons and wanted the dressing on the side. I kept trying to make eye contact with him to make the correction, but wasn’t having any luck. But then another gentleman, who I assume was the manager, saw me and told the kitchen about the adjustments to my salad.
My salad arrived quickly and shortly thereafter, my mom joined me. She ordered their seasonal salad with watermelon, cucumbers and mint and it also arrived quickly. But, once again, our server was a little MIA. We were nearly done with our salads and had to flag him down to put in our pizza order. We ordered their Prosciutto Crudo pizza and it, like our salads, arrived quickly. However, our pizza was unevenly cut. Most of the slices were pretty wide, but there was one weird, skinny slice. So I’m not sure how something like that happens… Anyways, I also ordered a glass of their prosecco rosé. It was too effervescent for me, though. Between my salad and the two slices of pizza I had, I could only have half of it before I was completely full. I’m not a big drinker, but I hate to leave wine behind. We were offered dessert, but passed and asked for the check and a box for the rest of the pizza.
All in all, I would certainly come back for another “cheat meal.” The staff is friendly, the kitchen is efficient and the food is delicious. And yes, it’s cool that they flew in their oven from Italy. But, as someone who has been all over Italy, there’s nothing like...
Read moreI could rave about this place for hours, but to put it simply, this restaurant is the perfect representation of AUTHENTIC ITALIAN CUISINE!!!!
First off, there service is great from the minute you walk in to the moment you walk out! These sweet people held the door open for us and welcomed us in like we had been friends with them for a while! When we were seated, our waiter Jamar went through the whole menu with us explaining how each dish was made and which were his favorites! Once we received our food, anytime there was a bit of crumb build up on our table from our party of 11, Jamar carefully cleaned it up without us even asking! He was very friendly and I could tell he enjoyed his job! Jamar was so helpful and ready to accommodate us with anything we needed! If his boss is reading this, please give Jamar the raise he deserves!
Second, the fooood!!!!! Oh my goodness the food was absolutely delicious!!!! They import ALL of their ingredients straight from Italy!!!! We ordered two antipasti(appetizers). One was the ANTIPASTO MISTO, and the other was the BURRATA TRE COLORE! Both were the absolute best combination of Italian flavors! And DOUGH home-makes their mozzarella!!!! Mmmmmmm! For the main course, I ordered the FONTINA SALSICCIA which was featured on FOOD Network! The way the cheese, balsamic vinaigrette and homemade sausage came together into the perfect bite was unbelievable! It was absolutely incredible! You’d have to try it yourself to understand how tasty it is!!!! I also ordered the SAINT & SIN Cocktail which was a pleasant sugary complement to my meal! To finish, we ordered the TIRAMISU and some GELATO to top it off!
Overall, the atmosphere, the cuisine and the welcoming staff, made our visit here feel like a visit back to Italy! I am highly impressed with DOUGH and will be a...
Read moreI have recommended Dough so many times but Sunday missed the mark. Thankfully we had a superb server and she kept us laughing. We didn't mention the issue with the food because we were with a guest and didn't want to make things awkward. Sunday I ordered two of the items on the "specials of the day" menu. The crab bruschetta sounded amazing but my husband and I both instantly noticed that it smelled very fishy. The crab was past its prime and shouldn't have been allowed out of the kitchen. This appetizer was a major turn-off but we pretended to eat it because of our guest. I ordered the pizza of the day because it had butternut squash on it and that sounded good. I discarded half my pizza and forced the pieces I did eat by picking off the dry meat. I love the crust at Dough and appreciate the gluten-free ingredients. The pizza was perfectly cooked but the combination of toppings and dry meat made me feel like it was the special of the day because they were possibly getting rid of older ingredients rather than providing a unique option from the standard menu. I will not be ordering off the specials of the day menu anymore. We treated our guest so it was not an inexpensive meal so considering on this visit I did not enjoy anything I ordered (and I'm not even picky) it was just a downer. My recommendation is to stick to the regular menu only and avoid anything with crab. Wish I had better news to report but hopefully that will help someone not...
