Iām literally shocked at the reviews this place has. I love a good sandwich and thought this would be a sure bet. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed.
I ordered a Greek salad and Mamas Italian sandwich. Perhaps I just chose poorly, but I honestly think they were a disgrace to the names - particularly the sandwich.
I love Italian sandwiches and this simply was not one. It was a ham sandwich. There was a single slice of salami (literally) and a mountain of ham (maybe honey?) - with no other cured meats - on a French roll. To my (unpleasant) surprise, it was not toasted. I know thatās a preference, and Iāll have them either way, but for the way this one was prepared, the only chance it could potentially have would be if it were toasted.
Also, there was nothing tangy or spicy about the sandwich. It was slippery, cold and nasty with fluffy bread (gross for an Italian sandwich probably fine when used correctly). I donāt know what the dressing was but it was not working for it.
Thereās nothing redeeming about the sandwich - unless you like cold ham sandwiches on fluffy bread. Itās like a child made it.
The salad had a weird lukewarm gritty Greek-like dressing and it was served with a spring mix, but it was pretty decent despite not tasting like a traditional Greek salad.
The service was very slow. My food took almost 30 minutes to arrive. They donāt check in or even say āthanks for your patienceā which tells me that they are not concerned in anyway about their patronsā time - despite it being lunchtime.
Not friendly staff - not rude - just completely indifferent and detached from customers.
Place looks clean for the most part. Bathroom has almost no lighting, was not very clean and one stall was out of toilet paper.
Again, maybe I chose poorly and some other items are amazing, but Iāll never know because there are way too many other great options nearby to ever waste my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet's start with the service. I had to give it- Just an okay. And it's not that it was bad service. It was just very professional straight to the bone service. It was lunch time and they were busy. And I saw them all running around back and forth so the service was prompt and definitely point. That said, an occasional smile goes a long way. So this friend and I got almost the same meal. Mine was the lunch special with half a sandwich and a cup of soup and my friend got a full sandwich and a bowl of soup, not on the special. And we each got a drink. Nothing major on the drink station. Soda choices (this is a coke house) and tea. That poblano soup is a major must. Trust me. It has a little bite but man, bite me! My friend got the tortilla soup and joked about the small mountain of tortilla strips "wow, is there soup in here?" Then when they found it they said it was great! It looked great. There was actually chicken in the soup. I know that's normal and expected but as you know it's not always the case at some places lol. As you can tell from the pics they have "fresh"...

The poblano soup is a MUST HAVE! It's creamy texture and subtle flavors are a great compliment to any meal here. I've had the ultimate, the orchard, the chicken salad and the Mediterranean vegetarian sandwiches. Of which, the first 3 were notable and I would have them again. My husband usually goes for the either the southwestern chicken sandwich or the chicken club - both served on a fluffy, slightly sweet fresh baked bun and both eat-every-last-bite delicious.
Their side salad is quite tasty and comes with cranberries and shaved almonds - not your run of the mill cherry tomatoes and cucumber normally found in a typical side salad. The sweet potato fries are served slightly overdone and with a mayo based dipping sauce that compliments the sweetness perfectly.
Overall, we've always enjoyed our meal and will continue to eat here for both...
