If you’re thinking about booking this hotel, don’t risk it. I booked through Expedia for three nights, prepaid in full, received a confirmation email, and even got a welcome message. Yet when I arrived, the hotel had no record of my booking and left my family and me stranded in freezing rain.
Instead of taking responsibility, they dismissed my concerns, wasted my time, and acted like it wasn’t a big deal. Their attitude was so bad, and even after I finally got a room, the stay was miserable—paper-thin walls, no sleep, and a parking nightmare.
I’ve booked through Expedia dozens of times, and check-in has always been smooth and easy. This was the first time I’ve ever had such a terrible experience. To make matters worse, this hotel doesn’t even have an official website, so you have to book through third-party agents. That means my problem today could be yours tomorrow. If anything goes wrong, you’ll be stuck dealing with a mess the hotel won’t take responsibility for.
When I arrived, it was pouring rain, but that was the least of my problems. The hotel had no record of my reservation. I had prepaid in full and had proof, but there were no instructions, no keys, no staff—nothing. My family and I stood outside in the freezing rain, trying to figure out what to do. After multiple frustrating phone calls, they finally gave me a temporary key—but only for one night.
The next day, instead of fixing their mistake, I had to waste even more time dealing with them, completely throwing off my plans and ruining my mood. Even after showing all my proof of reservation, they still insisted they had no room for me and told me I needed to vacate my unit because they were full. I had to go through yet another frustrating round of conversations with different agents, repeating my situation over and over.
And after all that? After contacting their manager, their final response was just, “OK, you can stay.” No apology, no explanation—just an indifferent response, as if leaving a guest stranded in the rain was completely normal. They acted like it wasn’t a big deal, as if the customer was the issue, which was incredibly frustrating.
The man in the office was pretty nice, which I appreciate. But unfortunately, his kindness couldn’t make up for the overall terrible experience.
Finally getting my room should have been the end of it, but nope. The walls were paper-thin—I could hear everything from my upstairs neighbor, who walked, talked, and dropped things at 4 or 5 AM every morning. Forget about sleeping.
Parking was another nightmare. They don’t have any reserved parking—only street parking. On weekends and holidays, finding a spot was nearly impossible. We returned one day in the afternoon, spent forever searching, and in the end, had to give up and leave.
No location or view is worth this stress and frustration. I strongly recommend choosing a more reliable...
Read moreSuch a beautiful and homey place to stay! Right across the street from the ocean- you can even hear the waves at night 🌊. The front desk staff were kind and accommodating and let me check in early. The rooms were clean and had everything you needed, including pots, pans and cutlery if you wanted to make something to eat yourself. The walls are quite thin and it’s easy to hear people walking around outside or opening their doors, but everyone was respectful and quiet during the night so I had no issues. One critique is the phone line- I tried calling a couple days before my trip to confirm my reservation and I kept getting sent to the after hours service even though I was calling during operating hours. I had to leave a message with the after hours staff, but the front desk did call me back to confirm. Otherwise a beautiful place and I would definitely love...
Read moreMy parents have owned off season 1 bedroom weeks here for more than 20 years. Directly across from La Jolla Tidepools and beautiful sunsets. Downtown La Jolla accessible on foot. No car needed if you just want to enjoy La Jolla. Cars must be parked on street which has quite a bit of 2 hr parking. Meets standard timeshare expectations unless you have an ocean view unit, then wow! Current issue is need to make handicap accessible has caused outdoor deck and spa to be closed for a year. The deck is crucial for units without view. Hopefully the project...
