Pizza On Pearl — Restaurant in San Diego

Don't Order the Meatball Hero. I ordered The hero along with some slices of pizza. Pizza was warmed quickly and were fine, but 15 minutes went by after receiving slices and had to ask if the Hero was ready. They evidently forgot to make it . I waited another 15 minutes and got a pan with sliced meatballs, sauce, melted cheese and no bread. If anyone looks up definition of a Hero it would be a subway style sandwich. I asked shouldn't it be a sandwich? They said they don't have sandwiches. I paid $10+ for 6 slices of maybe 2 meatballs in total. This is supposed to be New York style pizza shop and the term Hero in New York is a sandwich. The workers should be better trained to what a Hero is and to keep track or orders so they are not forgotten like mine was. Going down hill. I have been going here for 4 years and it's not what it used to be. I used to love this place. Service, quality, friendliness, ingredients, etc - it's all going south. They are on their way out; maybe not tomorrow, but the tide has changed, and unless the owner takes notice, the end is in sight. Mr. Moto's pizza is better, but is working out their operations issues as a new business. I will be going there from now on. I went back Pearl recently only to find it was even worse. The staff literally had a snarl, the ingredients were obviously low quality (poor taste), they don't take your order as you walk in, so the wait is twice as long as it used to be, and the place was overall chaotic, with an unfriendly staff. legit pizza by the slice location...kind of crazy i had never been here before. showing up aroun 9 pm on a...saturday i think...kinda limited my options. i had wanted a slice of the margarita. ended up with the greek (which was totally margarita just with olives on it), and also some other pepperoni & spinach type one. the slices are generous and fresh. id love to order a whole pie something to really get it in all its glory.

i will say this, and i will recommend you listen to me and not the masses on here: the garlic knots are terrible. dont get them. they are relatively cheap and you can order in 1 item increments which migth leave you saying "oh well it was only __$" but let me save you the trouble and just skip them. they just taste doughy...
