Freshería in La Jolla is the ultimate spot for fresh, healthy, and downright delicious eats. Tucked away in the charming Village of La Jolla, this cozy little gem is all about serving up vibrant, nutrient-packed meals that leave you feeling good inside and out. If you’re into clean eating without sacrificing flavor, this place is a must-visit.
The Food: Freshería’s menu is a celebration of fresh, whole ingredients with a creative twist. Their bowls are the star of the show—I went for the “Baja Bowl,” and it was a flavor explosion. Think quinoa, black beans, grilled chicken, avocado, pico de gallo, and a tangy lime vinaigrette, all layered to perfection. Every bite was fresh, satisfying, and packed with texture. They also have amazing tacos (the cauliflower ones are a game-changer) and salads that are anything but boring. Oh, and don’t skip their agua frescas—the watermelon mint is like a sip of summer.
Vibe: The vibe at Freshería is laid-back and welcoming, with a casual, beachy feel that fits right in with La Jolla’s relaxed energy. The space is small but cozy, with a few outdoor tables where you can enjoy your meal while soaking up the SoCal sunshine. It’s the kind of place where you can roll up in your flip-flops, grab a quick bite, and feel totally at ease.
Service: The staff are super friendly and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. They’re happy to walk you through the menu or make recommendations if you’re new to the Freshería experience. The service is quick and efficient, making it a great spot for a healthy meal on the go.
Overall: Freshería is a breath of fresh air in La Jolla’s dining scene. It’s the perfect spot for anyone looking for a healthy, flavorful meal in a chill, no-fuss setting. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu and soak in...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped by around 2:30 this afternoon… it wasn’t super busy. We ordered some basic items. This is after we had no idea what was in the sandwiches or wraps bc the menu doesn’t show and the cashier wasn’t much help either. Our mistake not pulling up the online menu. Nonetheless, service was slow. Took about 15 minutes to get a smoothie and an Aqua Fresca only after we asked is that done yet, was it provided. The Aqua Fresca was more like an Aqua Caliente. The bagel looked like and tasted like it was left in the toaster for 20 mins. How is it possible to mess up a bagel with cream cheese. After asking numerous times where the grilled cheese was, we were told they’re working on it. Then after another 15 mins I was told she didn’t have it in the order. Why were we told that they were working on it numerous times if she didn’t even have it on the order? There appeared to be enough staff in the kitchen, seemingly tending to grubhub orders rather than taking care of the customers standing in front of them. I’ve worked in the food service industry for 10 years, never seen...
Read moreOrdered on Uber eats. Spent $150. They didn't send part of our order. Said cracked pepper on menu for avocado toast but came with a boat load of crushed red pepper instead. Fruit salads were smallest portion ever received compared to the other 50 of these I've ordered from at least 7 other local restaurants. Fruit seemed like it was prepped hours ago instead of fresh. Strawberries and watermelon were already oxidizing in color and texture. Super soggy, bottom of container was a lake of water. They put a ton of yogurt as what seemed like a technique to avoid any more fruit than they had too. Way to much yogurt, at least 25% by volume. Both fruit salads were the same. Pineapple had parts of core in the pieces. The corn cup was cold. It was also the smallest corn cup we have ever gotten from anywhere we have ordered it before Acia bowls were good, apple salad was average. Overall not inedible, but a complete disappointment. A lot of money for some subpar food. Don't waste your time, to many great places in...
