To the curious traveler. I recently had the absolute pleasure of staying at Orli La Jolla, and it was an experience that surpassed all expectations. Nestled in the heart of La Jolla, this boutique hotel is a perfect blend of historical charm and modern luxury. Hip, beautiful and serene to say the least.
From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning architecture of the 1910-era building, beautifully restored to maintain its historical essence while offering contemporary comforts. The attention to detail in the design is evident in every corner, from the elegant flooring to the meticulously chosen furniture. Not to mention the delicious kombucha and cold brew on tap. Yum!
The location is unbeatable. Just a block from the beach ensures easy access to the serene coastline, while also being within walking distance to some of La Jolla's best restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions.
Highly recommend parakeets baked goods paired with an iced latte from Elixir. I particularly appreciated the hotel's proximity to the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, which was a great option for things to do.
The room I stayed in, The Conservatory, was nothing short of spectacular. The décor was a perfect mix of coastal and Parisian art deco styles, creating a relaxing and stylish atmosphere. The room featured a cozy reading nook that overlooked the beautiful courtyard, providing a peaceful retreat for enjoying a good book or simply soaking in the serene surroundings. The luxurious bedding and thoughtful amenities, such as the Marshall speaker, added a unique and personal touch to my stay.
The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and memorable. From the warm welcome at check-in to the helpful local recommendations, every interaction was marked by genuine hospitality. I also loved the on-demand contactless services, which made my stay both convenient and secure.
Let’s not forget the light clean scent this place has. The aroma is the scent of a clean space/spa. Loved the memories this scent carried with them so I ended up purchasing a bottle of the room spray and candle on my way out. Absolutely love!
In conclusion, Orli La Jolla is a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of history, luxury, and convenience. Whether you're visiting for a relaxing beach getaway or an exploration of La Jolla's vibrant cultural scene, this boutique hotel provides an unparalleled experience. I can't wait to return and would highly recommend it to any discerning traveler looking for an exceptional stay...

Second Stay Update
I just wrapped up my second stay at Orli, and once again, it was nothing short of magical! This time, we stayed in the Conservatory, and it exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we stepped into the beautifully designed space, we felt a sense of serenity and luxury. The high ceilings, abundant natural light, and tasteful décor made it feel like a private oasis.
Every detail is so thoughtfully curated, from the comfortable bed to the cozy sitting area that invites you to relax with a book or a glass of wine. Read moreThe Orli is a cute hotel in a great location. If you’re booking a room for a few nights, I’m sure you’d have a great time. However, we booked out the entire hotel for a group event and it was not a great experience. We originally planned to book out the entire hotel for our wedding welcome reception, but due to the lack of communication and transparency around potential additional costs, we ended up moving the wedding welcome reception and just had us + our bridal party stay at the hotel. While there were a lot of frustrations leading up to our stay (it seems like they’re still working out how full buyouts work, because their policies seemed to change a few times before our actual stay), the two biggest were the total lack of communication from the events director (we were constantly chasing him down for answers and he was entirely nonresponsive in the two weeks leading up to our stay) and lack of organization. By this I mean that, on the day we were supposed to check in, everyone in our party received a text stating the hotel was looking forward to welcoming us on an entirely different date. The text provided a link, which linked to entirely different people’s personal information (full names, addresses) and allowed us to charge items to their credit cards on file. This was really concerning to me—I did raise the issue with the team, but the links remained active our entire stay. The staff actually onsite (not the events director) were very nice, and we did ask about getting information to Venmo tips to the team. We were told the events director would follow up with us to provide that information but, of course, we never heard from him. Ultimately, for the price it cost to book out the entire hotel, I definitely expected more organization, communication, and...
