To the curious traveler. I recently had the absolute pleasure of staying at Orli La Jolla, and it was an experience that surpassed all expectations. Nestled in the heart of La Jolla, this boutique hotel is a perfect blend of historical charm and modern luxury. Hip, beautiful and serene to say the least.

From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning architecture of the 1910-era building, beautifully restored to maintain its historical essence while offering contemporary comforts. The attention to detail in the design is evident in every corner, from the elegant flooring to the meticulously chosen furniture. Not to mention the delicious kombucha and cold brew on tap. Yum!

The location is unbeatable. Just a block from the beach ensures easy access to the serene coastline, while also being within walking distance to some of La Jolla's best restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions.

Highly recommend parakeets baked goods paired with an iced latte from Elixir. I particularly appreciated the hotel's proximity to the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, which was a great option for things to do.

The room I stayed in, The Conservatory, was nothing short of spectacular. The décor was a perfect mix of coastal and Parisian art deco styles, creating a relaxing and stylish atmosphere. The room featured a cozy reading nook that overlooked the beautiful courtyard, providing a peaceful retreat for enjoying a good book or simply soaking in the serene surroundings. The luxurious bedding and thoughtful amenities, such as the Marshall speaker, added a unique and personal touch to my stay.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and memorable. From the warm welcome at check-in to the helpful local recommendations, every interaction was marked by genuine hospitality. I also loved the on-demand contactless services, which made my stay both convenient and secure.

Let’s not forget the light clean scent this place has. The aroma is the scent of a clean space/spa. Loved the memories this scent carried with them so I ended up purchasing a bottle of the room spray and candle on my way out. Absolutely love!

In conclusion, Orli La Jolla is a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of history, luxury, and convenience. Whether you're visiting for a relaxing beach getaway or an exploration of La Jolla's vibrant cultural scene, this boutique hotel provides an unparalleled experience. I can't wait to return and would highly recommend it to any discerning traveler looking for an exceptional stay...

Orli is a truly exceptional boutique hotel. The rooms are beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable. Each one is beautifully designed, with luxurious touches and modern amenities. The staff was friendly and provided exceptional service during my stay. I was especially impressed by the lounge, its library, and the courtyard, which added to the overall atmosphere of relaxation and luxury. Can’t forget its perfect location for experiencing the best of what the area has to offer. Overall, my stay at Orli was truly unforgettable and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-end, boutique hotel experience. Will be back soon!

Second Stay Update

I just wrapped up my second stay at Orli, and once again, it was nothing short of magical! This time, we stayed in the Conservatory, and it exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we stepped into the beautifully designed space, we felt a sense of serenity and luxury. The high ceilings, abundant natural light, and tasteful décor made it feel like a private oasis.

Every detail is so thoughtfully curated, from the comfortable bed to the cozy sitting area that invites you to relax with a book or a glass of wine. The room’s garden view was absolutely stunning, adding to the overall tranquil atmosphere. It’s clear that Orli prioritizes their guests’ comfort, with all the amenities we needed for a perfect weekend getaway.

The location is unbeatable, offering easy access to local attractions while still feeling tucked away and peaceful. The seamless check-in process and the team’s attentive service made us feel so welcome and well taken care of.

Orli has quickly become my go-to for a luxurious escape, and I can’t wait to return again. Highly recommend staying in the Conservatory if you’re looking for a beautiful,...

The Orli is a cute hotel in a great location. If you’re booking a room for a few nights, I’m sure you’d have a great time. However, we booked out the entire hotel for a group event and it was not a great experience. We originally planned to book out the entire hotel for our wedding welcome reception, but due to the lack of communication and transparency around potential additional costs, we ended up moving the wedding welcome reception and just had us + our bridal party stay at the hotel. While there were a lot of frustrations leading up to our stay (it seems like they’re still working out how full buyouts work, because their policies seemed to change a few times before our actual stay), the two biggest were the total lack of communication from the events director (we were constantly chasing him down for answers and he was entirely nonresponsive in the two weeks leading up to our stay) and lack of organization. By this I mean that, on the day we were supposed to check in, everyone in our party received a text stating the hotel was looking forward to welcoming us on an entirely different date. The text provided a link, which linked to entirely different people’s personal information (full names, addresses) and allowed us to charge items to their credit cards on file. This was really concerning to me—I did raise the issue with the team, but the links remained active our entire stay. The staff actually onsite (not the events director) were very nice, and we did ask about getting information to Venmo tips to the team. We were told the events director would follow up with us to provide that information but, of course, we never heard from him. Ultimately, for the price it cost to book out the entire hotel, I definitely expected more organization, communication, and...

This place felt more like a well-decorated Airbnb than a real hotel — and that was never made clear to me. At no point during the booking process was I informed that there would be **no front desk staff** and that check-in would be completely self-service. I arrived at **10:00 p.m.**, tired from travel, only to find that I had received a code in a message — and that was it. There was absolutely no one on-site to assist with anything. I’m 75 years old and paid close to **$500 USD** for my stay. Had I known there wouldn’t be someone to greet me, help with luggage, or offer basic assistance, I would have never chosen this property at that rate. I found the entire experience quite disorienting and frustrating. The room looked nice at first glance, but comfort was clearly not a priority. **Noise traveled easily**, and I could hear every sound from the guests **next to me**, including conversations and footsteps, which made it difficult to rest. The **bathroom was so compact it felt almost unusable**, especially for someone my age. And despite the warm weather, the **air conditioning was weak and barely made a difference**, leaving the room uncomfortably warm throughout the night. What I find most upsetting is that none of this was clearly stated in advance. The property presents itself as a hotel, but fails to disclose that **no one is there to help you**. During my stay, I even crossed paths with another guest who was also looking for someone to assist him — we both just looked at each other in disbelief. I honestly don’t understand how this place has such high ratings. For the price charged and the complete lack of hospitality, it was incredibly disappointing.

We thoroughly enjoyed the two nights we spent at Orli La Jolla. It was easily one of our most comfortable stays - the concierge team were super helpful and took excellent care of us. We stayed in the Nomad room - the room with two queen beds - which was spacious and comfortable with ocean views. The room was super quiet and the beds were so comfortable. We arrived a little early and they were able to hold our luggage for us - then brought it to our room so it was ready when we checked in. Text worked well to communicate - anything we needed was a text away - and the staffed front desk was also outside in the patio so we could always talk to someone during regular hours. They also let us know about wine hour via text - a really nice choice of wines and we enjoyed sitting in the patio and enjoying them. The cold brew and kombucha were delicious - and they had Sugar & Scribe pastries every morning - which was a wonderful surprise. They also outfitted our room with a Nespresso coffee maker and provided granola bars and bottled water. The grounds were immaculately kept - and ever detail was well thought out. We paid ahead for parking (which I would recommend) - and it was a short walk from the hotel. All in all, we had a wonderful time in La Jolla and hope to visit Orli the next time we are in town.
