I love Red Door Escape Rooms, so naturally I was excited to try their new Game Show Studio. I had done 3 other “game show” franchises before coming to Game Show Studio, so I had something to compare it to.
PROS-nice lighting done by the in-room “producer”.
Nice podiums for single contestants. (It seems like it would be a little crowded with 2 contestants at each podium, though.)
Adequate emcee (though he seemed a little forced rather than natural.)
Nice spinning wheel.
CONS-Instructions were vague and confusing. We weren’t sure what our options were with certain games/rounds. For example, we didn’t realize that we could answer a board without spinning the wheel again.
Only the team captains got to play the plinko board, rather than giving each contestant a turn.
If you found the “sweet spot” on the plinko board, it almost always ended up in the same slot.
Spinning wheel had some weird categories such as duel, and my least favorite clover, which allowed the team to guess 4 letters on a single turn.
Only the host got to roll the dice, and only to break ties. Other shows I have done, the contestants got to roll the die.
There was absolutely NO TRIVIA involved, which every other “game show” I have done has had. Some people might like that, but trivia is my absolute favorite type of game. At the end of each previous game show I have done, there was a trivia question where you could wager “Jeopardy” style any or none of your accumulated points on a single trivia question. Instead, Game Show Studio relied on an Over/Under round, where one team had to put a price on an object, and the other team had to guess whether the amount was over or under that price. Since there were only 3 objects, the team that guesses over/under has an unfair advantage.
GOOD-“Producer" said they were working on adding more/different games which would help.
CONCLUSION-All in all, we had a good time, even though there is room for...
Read moreWe came in for my sisters birthday party. The whole thing seemed really fun and we were excited about trying out the Game Show Experience. A little background, we originally booked with 15 people but were unsure if more or less were coming so we paid $50 to have the ability to make changes. We also paid $200 extra to have our own room and not have extra people from the outside. Our reservation was at 8:30pm and we showed up at 8:20pm to have everyone fill out the waivers, by the time that was done it was around 8:35pm. We then sat in the lobby for close to 20 minutes while the two ladies at the front were figuring some stuff out on the computer. I went over to talk with them and they informed me that they had to charge us extra for having two more people. I informed then that we had paid $250 to make sure it was okay if we had extra. Anyways, we ended up paying, no big deal. I looked at the clock and it was 8:50pm. I. asked if we would still be able to have our full hour since they had taken so long and they said "of course, no problem, there no one after you anyways". We proceed to have a great time and I only gave it 3 stars because of that. We were promptly told that we were done at 9:30pm, meaning the whole thing only lasted for 35 minutes, we paid for an hour, we were promised and hour, and we got 35 minutes. All and all, it was not worth the money or the headache to argue about getting extra time when we felt like we were being rushed. We had fun for that short time, but I would not recommend...

We had a team of 12 reserved for 7pm. They send you a waiver to sign ahead of time or you can sign during check in. When you’re there, they give you these big giant price tag labels to write your name.
We got escorted through the elevator downstairs to the basement, pass a handful of escape rooms before we reached the studio. Before we enter, rules were given and there were lockers outside if you need to store your personal belongings.
The room was simple w a giant wheel to play Wheel of Wonder, a spin on Wheel of Fortune, projector screen to play Family Feud and name that price. Finally Plinko.
We played 3 games of each. Very interactive and brings out your inner competitiveness. Great way to get a group together to play against a random group or if you can pull together 24 to play against people you know.
Our host was great and funny. He was very much in character and had a line for everything.
The only negative was that our session was less than an hour, about 45 minutes. I guess if it were on tv, with commercials, that would be an hour show? Time just went by fast when...
