I went to order the pastrami special but asked if I can order it without double meat. I was rudely encountered by one of cooks that he is not willing to accommodate me and how my previous requests (same thing which was agreed several times & approved) were no longer valid. I’ve eaten there over 30 times, and really felt that knowingly as a return customer that they chose to act in such manner still. Just a bad business move. If you can’t accommodate someone for a $13 sandwich & you have limited hours of operation then you are just not a good business.
I did not appreciate the tone and communicated that my business will go elsewhere. They seem to really lack business acumen with how they raise the pricing but struggle to meet customer satisfaction. Most of my colleagues that work in the building adjacent to store already express dissatisfaction with price increase & decrease in value. Most of their business relies on our office lunch hours. I would not be surprised if this deli would close end of 2023 due this kind of behavior. There’s an Ike’s down the street with more options and half the price for same size sandwiches. That’s where I’ll be going...
Read moreAnother first timer for me. I am always on the look-out for a good sandwich shop and CRUST Sourdough Deli on N. First Street hit all the right buttons for me. Easy on-line ordering (they even pay attention to the special instructions), reasonable prices. It was ready to go when I got there, and the food was really good with a decent sized serving. I ordered the Albacore Tuna cuz I am a tuna freak, and this stuff was probably better than most places. My only grump, (not a complaint) is that they don't have a selection of breads (while I like sourdough, there are other breads I like more). But, when Sourdough is in your name, there's not much more to expect. Overall though, I really liked it and will definitely be back. Next time - pastrami. Hope you...
Read moreDELICIOUS! A tiny hole in the wall creating heavenly delights. I had the special beef dip sandwich. I have eaten sandwiches in most states of the Union and eleven countries. This is one of the most flavorful, best sets of textures ever! The sourdough bread is simply unavailable on the east coast - for biochemical reasons - but is exquisite. Great cheese, tender finely sliced roast beef. It was accompanied by a super pickle and very good quality brown mustard (by request). Their cookies are really good, soft, sweet, just baked enough. I would happily have given them 5 stars, if they had had a bar or over-stuffed chairs, …. Hmmmm, ..perhaps I expect too...
