Krispy Kreme — Restaurant in Santa Clara

Yikes, this place is a hellish type of sensory overload. The fluorescent lights are glaringly bright, video game electronic music is blasting, and the long lines even late at night have nowhere to go, leading to a crowd of disorganized people in front of the case. It was obviously really poorly designed. The donuts are ok - the glazed are really good, but all the icing flavors have absolutely no flavor and taste like straight sugar; the chocolates don’t taste much different than vanilla, and even the cake donuts taste like powdered sugar rather than cake. For the prices, going to any local donut shop is probably a better bet. The service is incredibly poor. When I was last there, the red haired guy with glasses was super, super rude; he yelled at customers and should not be in customer service. And, the other guy looked sick and exhausted, and seemed completely overwhelmed. They had forgotten they had TooGoodToGo orders coming and hadn’t prepped them in advance. If you want Krispy Kreme, maybe find a way to get some delivered, rather than going into this particular store, and go for the glazed, not iced or cake. If you do go, be really careful in the parking lot; it’s extremely crowded but poorly lit so it’s easy to miss...

I had the worst experience here. Krispy Kreme had a promotion running through Wed 6/18 which this store refused to honor. Any purchase made by the date would come with a reward of three free assorted doughnuts per the email. The cashier told me I was not given the reward and questioned my English abilities, even though I had confirmed the promotion in advance of paying. Did not receive the free x3 doughnuts promised. Extremely poor experience here and incredibly disgusted with Krispy Kreme for the low methods they conduct business akin to a scam.

Warning other people here to reconsider spending your hard earned dollars at Krispy Kreme, who will refuse to honor their own marketing and let down their local customers. Always support small and local bakeries, instead of a big company that has no concern for their customers, only for their wallets. Only 3 stars for atmosphere because it's just a typical KK - but there's nothing wrong with that! The doughnuts are a little pricey, but they are just so good, it's worth it. They're fresh, delicious, and they don't skimp on frosting or filling. There's a big variety of flavors and you can get plain doughnuts, too.
