My #1 dislike of this hotel: Location + noise. Please note that this hotel sits right next to the highway, and if you are not a heavy sleeper, remember to ask for a room facing the pond, not the highway. I hardly got any sleep during my first night because I could hear the cars on the highway flying by, and I tried to leave the bathroom fan on to cancel out the noise but it wasn't helpful. I could hear the footsteps of the guest upstairs. The staff are very nice and as I brought up my issue for the first room, they changed my room to the other side on the top floor for the rest of my stay to accommodate my needs.
#2 The rooms does not have central AC system, and with the wall air conditioner, there's a lot of noise in the room at night if you do not like the noise at night like me, this can be challenging. Another thing about their AC system is that I thought it was broken when I tried to keep the room at 74F while I kept getting hot air by putting it on high/low fan. I tried to make the room as cool as I could when I get ready for bed, then turn the AC off when I go to bed. Later, I was told by the staff that I need to put it on auto mode to get the cool air, otherwise it's going to be the air straight from outside.
The front staff are helpful and friendly, they offered me water when I checked in, and greets me every time I pass by. During the breakfast, there were two ladies constantly present in the area to make sure enough food are being put out, and the area was clean. Anytime there was a spill, big or small, they are very fast to come into assistance. All the ladies are very helpful and friendly during my stay.
I noticed that someone complained about the room's cleanness, and my experience overall was pretty good. The room overall was clean, the bed was clean and no bedbugs, but I did notice there are some spots that were probably missed out by the room keeper: 1. The desk had a lot of grease splashed on it from the previous guest and was not cleaned. I put my big binder for work on the desk upon arrival, and the next day when I pick it up, the bottom of it was covered in grease. The room was dark when I checked in, so I did not notice the desk was dirty. 2. The toilet seat was up when I checked in, and I would appreciate it if they could left the seat and cover down. But maybe the cleaning lady just forgot to put it back down and the toilet looked clean, so I am not bothered by it. Overall I think the room was kept pretty clean, and I understand some spots could be missed for one cleaning dozens of rooms a day.
The location of this hotel is great, close to the highway and restaurants. Just remember to get a room not facing the highway if you are sensitive to the...
Read moreMy stay started off pretty good but ended awful. I stayed from December 21 through December 23 for my daughter’s wedding in Savannah. I woke up on the 23rd still exhausted from the wedding on the 22nd. I was on my ipad using my apple pencil when I fell back a sleep. When I woke up again and started packing. I managed to forget my apple pencil in the bed. This part was my fault. We checked out and it took me 9 hours and 40 minutes to drive home to Virginia. When I got home and was unpacking I went to get my ipad and apple pencil since I use it every day. I noticed right away my apple pencil was missing. I called the Hampton right away which was about 9pm on the 23rd and explained to them I left it. The desk person told me the housekeeping was gone for the day and lost and found was locked up. She made a note and took my name and number. I did call back about 1 pm the next day 24th. The desk person said she saw my note but had not found it and she would check with housekeeping again. She called me back about 30 minutes later very happy to tell me they found it. I was very happy to hear that because they cost $99. She asked me if I wanted to pick it up or have mail to me. I asked her to mail it and gave her my credit card number. Here is when everything goes bad. It was shipped on the 27th 2 day shipping at the cost of $21.53. I received it on the 29th and was happy to see the box. However when I opened the box I was very upset to see it was not my apple pencil. Mine was in perfect usable shape and white. The one they sent me had a broken tip which makes it unusable, a missing cap over the lightning charger and blue ink stains on it. So after housekeeping turned over to the front desk someone stole mine and swapped it out for their broken one. Even if it was accidently vacuumed it would not have blue stains on it. My guess it was the person who put it in the envelope and then the box to seal it up was the person who exchange it. I called again very upset on the 29th about 12pm and the front desk person said housekeeping was unavailable and she was by herself. Her attitude she gave just made mad. She then said she would check with housekeeping again and leave a message with the general manager. After two days I have not heard from either one of them. I cannot believe the attitude and dishonesty of these last couple of people. I am now out $21.53 for shipping and have to pay $99...
Read moreI debated whether or not I should write this review but decided to because there are so many other hotels in the area that value their guests. We checked into this hotel after traveling all day. The guest service agents, Natasha and Samantha were not only incompetent but also unprofessional. First, our reservation was cancelled upon our arrival and was then rebooked at a higher rate. Our remote for the TV wasn't working and Natasha informed us she would have to come up and swap out the remotes. After telling them about this issue I asked if there was a manager or supervisor I could speak with regarding our cancellation. They told me there wasn't anyone with authority working that night - only them. I asked for the general manager's card, at which point Natasha gave me a blank card. Once I turned my back, Natasha started talking about me and laughing. I quickly turned around and said, "Excuse me, what was that?" She snickered and said, "Oh I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to my coworker." Not only did I find this unprofessional but I was stunned that this was done in front of two other guests checking in. She then refused to help me with the remote. Hilton honors was contacted regarding my stay and the hotel said they had resolved the issue. Apparently their way of resolving any issue is by not responding. If you read the reviews, you get an accurate picture of the climate of this property. Professionalism and hopsitality is at the bottom of their priority list and revenue is at the top. Perhaps Natasha would be better suited at an establishment that doesn't require her to interact with people and requires less mental stamina. For a property this size and one that should be able to run it's self, I'm shocked that noone took the time to reach out to us to make things right and to ensure this doesn't happen to us or another guest in the future. That being said, my husband and I have been loyal Hilton honors members for 9 years and this is the first time I have ever reached out to HH. With so many beautiful and well run properties in the Savannah area, you can stay anywhere and be treated with respect. Save your money. On the upside, the location is convenient and you can't hear the cars with the AC on....
