I've been to this location several times in the past couple years and the food and service has been superb. So I was disappointed when I took out of state family (8 of us) on a cold Saturday morning this past November. We were offered the option of sitting on the outside patio which were told was heated. After about 10 minutes, we were informed that an employee had to run out and get gas canisters for the heaters. I asked a female waitress if the plastic tarp could be lowered at least 2-3 more feet to block the cold wind. She said no. Later, when our food arrived, I noticed three of us who ordered chicken and waffles got regular syrup not Metro Diner's signature syrup and hot sauce mixture. After waiting about 10-15 minutes for the waitress to return and she didn't, I got up to go inside to ask for three syrup and hot sauce. I ran into the waitress finally coming back out. I asked and she annoying responded, "I'll get it, you can sit down." There was another male employee who was attentive, funny and engaging while he added gas canisters. Very nice. My second negative was yesterday, Friday morning. I was by myself, ordered steak and eggs. Usually I'm asked my preference for the done ness of the steak but I wasn't and didn't think about it until I got my food. The steak was medium rare and rubbery. A waste. I wasn't given a steak knife and used the butter knife to attempt to cut the steak. The waitress never came back to check on me so I caught her leaving another table and asked for steak sauce. Never offered a coffee refill. Just sad service and the food was subpar. However, I know Metro Diner is better than this because I've visited this one and others in...
Read moreStarted off ok. Server never introduced herself. But cool not really a big deal. I got the special on the board, country fried steak. Got my meal the steak was bleeding and overly salty. Our server dropped our food off and never came back. The manager finally came to the table, told him what happened, I told him I just wanted some eggs and sausage I didn’t want the fried steak. At that point our server popped back up from where ever she was at, checked on her other table which was next to us but never came to see what was going on. When the food came out my wife couldn’t hold back her disappointment of service server still didn’t come check on us, coffee needed a refill, after we told the manager about our situation our server finally came and checked on us we didn’t even wanna be there anymore. But the icing on the cake was after all that another server whom had not been over in our area came by and kicked my chair. This was a horrible experience won’t be coming back rather drive 2 hours to go the ones in Jacksonville than...
Read moreWe are so happy for the serendipitous finding of this awesome place! Traveling back home to North Georgia from Savannah, we felt like getting fish and chips...so we started going to Culver’s but saw this place on Google maps with wonderful reviews and decided to give it a try. Glad we did....WOW!!! Not only was the fish fresh and very authentic without being too greasy, but these are the best hash browns I’ve ever had! Cooked to perfection without too much grease. And oh those home fries! My hubby had bacon/mushroom burger and was delighted. Our server was the best! Jazmine was not just knowledgeable about the food, but quick, attentive and professional as well as charismatic. Kudos to the chef and kitchen staff for their great cooking! Manager also checked on us so he was great, too. Music was awesome and the place including the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. We will come back again (a 4 hour drive) because this may just be the best diner and generally best food discovery, in all of...
