The responses from "The Management" on the reviews for this place are a laughable attempt to try and convince people that they care about their guests and the quality of the hotel. They don't. The business practice being applied here is similar to that of a slumlord. The idea is to rely on the low cost and good proximity to the airport to keep it alive, while minimizing costs by cutting corners and ignoring sustainability (like by skipping routine maintenance). The result is a decrepit hotel that's in disrepair, with no sense of hygiene, and it will no doubt get worse with age.
The walls and ceilings were filled with bad plaster repairs, careless paint touch-ups, and water damage. The tub had also been refinished, and the coating was falling apart, which was a bit gross to look at. I would suspect that someone with a mold allergy would have trouble breathing here. Speaking of breathing, the entire place reeks of some kind of deodorant/air freshener that was thick enough in the air to taste. We had to air out the room using the window in order to be able to breathe ok (I don't totally have respiratory issues).
Regarding cleanliness, the place was a disaster. Other people's hairs were left in the sink, on the counter, in the shower, and on the toilet seat. Upon inspection, the toilet seat had lines from where the disinfectant dripped and dried, which means their cleaning practice is to spray the toilet but not wipe it up. I suspect they do this in every surface, which explains why everything looked filthy, even though it was hopefully disinfected. The floors were sticky and the corners of the rooms were caked with dirt and dust. It's clear that the maintenance staff here cuts corners on everything. I hope I didn't contract any disease from this place...
The only thing this place had going for it is that it had climate control and a...
Read moreMANAGERS AND EMPLOYEES FIGHTING AT 3AM!!
I stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Pooler, MD from January 13-16, 2017 and was pretty shocked at the professionalism of the staff. On January 14th at 3am, I woke up to what seemed to be the manager cursing up a storm at two of his employees outside in front of the hotel. Their swearing was heard throughout the hotel, which made it very difficult to go back to sleep. I walked outside and the staff completely ignored me and continued fighting. The words from the alleged manager included, "You think you're irreplaceable? You're replaceable mother f@%^er!" "You better find a new job mother f@%^er or I am selling this b*&%h tomorrow!" "You and your F@&#ing brother!" After a few more exchanges the manager would peel off in his Infiniti coupe and return in 5minutes and begin again. I witnessed this happening 3x over the duration of over an hour. The manager peeled off and returned several times during one round. The altercation eventually got physical and one of the employees took his shirt off and they began to fight.
I spoke to another gentlemen the following morning looking to speak to a manager. He claimed he wasn't the manager and kept telling me to come back. I spoke to an employee who stated that the gentleman I spoke to was in fact the manger/in charge. Ownership was never taken and the alleged assistant manager didn't offer any assistance whatsoever. I left my number and the manager never returned my call after our initial conversation. Very...
Read moreWell we booked this room for a week while we looked for our new home here in savannah ga. The outside looked alright but upon check in I was told a 75 fee was required the front desk agent didn't seem very professional. He was extremely nosey to begin with which I wasn't a fan of already. We got to our room 209 the living room ac worked bedroom ac didn't there was an awful smell to the room the bathroom was the worst smelling the floor was sticky as well as soft spots in the floor. Well we put my water purifier on the counter where the microwave was only to find out it was sinking in the middle so it wasn't level. The people who stay here are questionable. The mattress protector on the mattress had a cigarette burn in it which to me is really disgusting. We were a family of 5 and trying to get enough towels for my family was like pulling teeth. The breakfast is only bread and waffles they at least have crandberry juice. If you don't let housekeeping in your room they will berate you on why you won't let housekeeping in. I used to work as a housekeeper so I prefer to clean my own room as well as have my own sheets on the bed because not all hotels practice proper cleaning regiment I believe this is one of those hotels. So overall I will say it's fine for single people who don't care or are staying a day but long term definetly not it. We don't plan to...
