Decent customer service. The room was, however, dirty and old but at least did not smell of smoke since we got to choose between two rooms (the first room smelled of smoke despite the no smoking signs). Carpet looked like it had never been steam-cleaned; old and dirty-looking though at least it was vacuumed. The sheets and blankets were slightly stained though they look like they had been washed, but seriously, throw out the stained sheets and blankets if washing doesn't get rid of stains! Same goes for the towels. Every single towel had a stain of some sort. Most had blood or other "body stains" on the towels or black/grey grease stains despite obvious washing. So strange! Seriously, who keeps stained towels and doesn't invest in some cheap new towels for guests?! It's like management doesn't care at all. It's a cheap motel, but c'mon- stained towels and sheets?!?! The microwave and small fridge were also old and dirty looking and the ice box constantly melted all over our food, though the food kept cold. Asked to have the microwave switched out for a new one due to a missing grounding prong on the plug and the Indian man managing the hotel gave a bit of trouble. He ultimately did bring us a newer microwave with a plug in tact. I told him how dangerous it was to operate a microwave with no grounding prong attached to an extension cord full of other plugs and the potential for an electrical fire or shock and he pretty much acted nonchalant like I was the crazy one for worrying about such a silly little thing. He told me he'd go ahead and change it out because I "was too scared to use it". Reallly?! Nice customer service! (I'm being sarcastic) I believe he might own the hotel which just makes matters worse! What's strange is that otherwise, he's a pretty nice friendly guy and mostly accommodating if you need to change your plans. I just wish he understood what good customer service is when running a hotel/motel. Mattresses are old and uncomfortable.||||Room cleaning was terrible. They seriously need to hire new help. The same lady does the cleaning everyday and I don't think she spends more than 10 mins in each room basically just making up the beds, vacuuming up real quick, and adding new, dirty/stained towels (out of the wash, but still with stains). Our toilet bowl stayed dirty (it was obvious she didn't clean it). The bath tub stayed dirty and filmy looking though it looked like she rinsed it. The only thing that was ever decently cleaned was the sink and the trash-liner. Very poor room cleanliness. No dusting!||||We ultimately stayed because it was very budget friendly, but were very tempted to leave because of the dirty looking towels, sheets, dripping fridge and unsafe microwave, and we will not stay again until some major changes take place. I can't get over the dirty towels. We ended up just using some of our own. We will pay extra to stay somewhere cleaner next time. I think Motel 6 is a major step up from this place. If you decide to stay because of the price, bring your own sheets/blankets and towels. There's no A/C if you plan to come during the warm months....
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying at Motel Fireplace inn , and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm, friendly smile from the front desk staff. The team here is truly exceptional — so professional, helpful, and attentive. They made sure I felt welcomed and comfortable right away.
The professionalism of the staff stands out the most. They were always available to answer any questions, provide recommendations for local attractions, and ensure my stay was as smooth as possible. It was evident they genuinely care about their guests, and their positive attitudes made the entire experience that much better.
Not only were the staff exceptional, but the motel itself was very well-maintained. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The location is also great, offering easy access to nearby shops and restaurants.
I wholeheartedly recommend Motel Fireplace inn to anyone looking for a cozy, welcoming place to stay. With such an incredible staff and top-notch service, it’s clear that they take pride in offering a memorable experience to...
Read moreJudging by the previous reviews on this hotel it has clearly been renovated since and probably new owners.
I was very impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel inside and out but most notably for the price point.
I’m travelling California for 2 weeks so have been using quite a few low price hotels. I had stayed at 2 other hotels the previous nights for the same sort of price (£60-70) that were so bad I slept fully clothed.
At Monterey Fireplace the bedding didn’t just smell clean, it smelled good. 3 full size proper pillows. Towels were all immaculate and folded in a fancy way, with care (unfortunately I didn’t take a photo). I didn’t check the fridge or microwave but whole room looked clean. I have to admit, the layout seems a bit odd when you walk in as to the rear right there’s a small corridor to “nothing” but, in this area was an ironing board and iron, plus either a bench or hatstand, I can’t recall.
I made good use of the built in air con unit to warm up the room.
A short walk from plenty of food and shops, I walked to breakfast at Denny’s and picked up some bits from...
