Sand & Sea Condominiums in Vacasa website has not more than very nice pictures and good reviews but what an unpleasant surprise when we arrived to a very old and run down furniture with dirty and old appliances. The unpleasant surprise started a soon as we open the door a musty smell came out. Therefore, here are few things to consider:

The media center to our surprised was all messed up. All the HDMIs were mixed and we were unable to watch cable TV so we went out and rented a movie but the DVD didn’t work either. it seems to skip the movie every few minutes. We had to spend a few hours to understand how the cable/TV system was connected, for some reason It wasn’t connected the way it says on labels. The kitchen is out dated and when I say out dated: The kitchen drawers are not property working. The silverware drawer drops every single time you open it. The sink faucet is hard to open. The stove is damage and dirty. The countertop is old and damage. It took some time to make the dishwasher door to work. The door doesn’t properly close anymore. The wood cutting board in between the refrigerator and the stove was full of crumbs and dirty. Once you open the unit front door, an intense, awful smell comes out. The balcony light was out. Few of the outlets in the living room were damage or not working. There was no laundry soap provided. Amenities were closed on Christmas Day and not conveniently accessible. One of the elevator is not working at all and the one working, the door gets stuck all the time. Very unpleasant to listen to unwelcoming comments from employees passing by and inside the only functioning elevator.

I will say this property is in need of a major renovation from the kitchen to the bedrooms. But also I strongly believe Sand and Sea Condominiums are desperately in need of a new management company that truly cares about customers and strive to please and make your stay memorable and leave with the feeling of coming back soon. But to open the door and walk into this awful place it is not only bad business but also very disrespectful to customers. While there all you want is to get out of there, and this shouldn’t be the case. I will not stay here again or recommend this property. One of the reason people go away on vacation is to stop thinking about the daily activities and responsibilities, when you arrived to your condo/hotel the last thing you want to do is to stress out or worry about anything. Rather be around in a worry free environment. This is not the case at the Vacasa: Sand...

We recently stayed in Unit #610 at The Sand and Sea. It was in a perfect location, the room was well appointed and immaculate and the view was great!!! I would have given it a 5 star rating... That being said, this was a Spring Break trip with our special needs Grandson and we purposely booked here for the "indoor heated pool" which is very helpful with his situation. We arrived for Spring Break to find out that the pool had not been operational. Not only was there no prior notification, but we felt strung along every day by being told it would possibly be fixed the next day, then the next day, waiting for parts, wrong parts were delivered... until one of our party spoke with a gentleman who said there was little to any chance it would be fixed for the entire week. Had they told us up front about the situation, we would have re-booked our stay for a different time (not asking for a refund) and we would have looked for another situation which would have had an indoor pool (although being Spring Break that would have been difficult, no doubt). We expressed our disappointment, and said we understand "stuff" happens, but it would have been nice had they been transparent and forthcoming with the information at, or even prior to, check-in. The staff apologized but definitely had a "not our problem" attitude. There was no mention of any partial refund or even credit for a future stay. Kind of disappointing they did not make good on their inability to provide what was advertised or make any offer of amends for the situation. While I would love to say we'd stay there again, because it truly was a lovely place, I would definitely confirm the pool was operational beforehand, but, I'm not certain we'd be given accurate information if it wasn't working. Jury is still out at...

My husband's family has been coming to Seaside since the 1950s so it was inevitable that we would too. The location is ripe with loads of solitary and family activities. Surrounded by conservation-protected old growth forest there are miles and miles of hiking trails from the most kid friendly to the experianced hiker level. Taking the North entrance of the Tillamook Head trail hike is an experience of solitude and peacefulness that challenges the body ( its a steady climb) but renews the soul. There is the Lewis and Clark interpretive center over looking the mouth of the Columbia River, Cape Disappointment, lighthouses, the Maritime Museum in Newport, the Tillamook creamery in Tillamook and just relaxing, flying a kite and playing on the beach at Seaside. Sand and Sea has the best ocean front condo rental experiance. The unit we rent on the 3rd floor has breathtaking views of the ocean, beach and Tillamook Head. The units are well appointed with everything you need to cook and eat-in everyday if you like. The place is well maintained and the office very helpful. If you want a night out and have the budget for it, we/ I highly recommend Finn's FishHouse. The service is listed as three meal though we have never had breakfast there. The menu is surf and turf they dont take reservations so the dinner line up collects around 5pm, the wait is about 20-30 minutes for the dining room or patio seating and NO WAIT if you are dining alone or have an adults only group, in the lounge. Its our preference because its quite, and you still have the full menu and the bar. It appears darker at first but once you are seated at a table your eyes accommodate and it brightens up into a quiet, private...

This review is specific to UNIT 400 Sailor’s Retreat. Listed as a “premium stay” this Condo was anything but that. As frequent travelers - we have no issue with dated style but the disrepair in which this unit was in was unacceptable. Dirty and horribly stained carpet and tiles that left the bottom of our socks black (note the entry had a sign requesting shoe removal). Bathroom exhaust fans were filled with black dust that looked close to a fire hazard. The couches were filthy and covered in stains/dusty. The pull out couch comforter was covered in stains and looked like it hadn’t been washed in several stays, there were no sheets on the mattress. Everything had a coat of grime, from the walls to the ceiling to the floor. The online listing images misrepresent the actual state of the unit. While there were cleaners on site, this needs a top to bottom deep cleaning and repair. There was also dirt/cobwebs on the ceiling and severe ceiling damage seen in the images. Forgot to mention the dead bugs in the light fixtures! Could not close the curtains properly due to them falling off the rail and being ripped to shreds. Additionally there was a broken window in the master room that was broken and taped. All reports of concern to Vacasa were given the same generic reply about “reaching out to the local team” and “something’s need a little TLC”. The only positive was the view and the kind front desk staff. Would NOT recommend staying in this unit, especially with the exuberant cost which is by no means justified.

Hands down, best place we've stayed at along the Oregon Coast! The condo (Room 118) was not only spacious, it was so cozy and inviting that we didn't want to leave when it came time to check out! The location couldn't be more perfect, it's right next to the beach AND downtown where all of the fun little shopping spots are! They have two different washing stations to wash off your sandy feet. The kitchen was fully furnished with all cooking utensils and dishes, there was even a dishwasher for a quick clean up! The unit had a washer AND dryer, which was incredibly convenient not having to do it once we got home. The fireplace was everyone's favorite feature 🔥 the balcony was used pretty much every chance we got, the room had floor to ceiling windows on one wall, it was gorgeous! Two bathrooms between two adults and two children made our lives much easier, no one had to wait! The pool is open from 10am-10pm and they also have a Dry Sauna on site for people 21+. They have an abundance of parking on AND off site, so no extra stress on if you'll have a spot or not. The staff was so friendly and helpful, I highly recommend Sand and Sea Condominiums for your next stay in Seaside Oregon! Can't wait to go back! ❤️🌊⛱️
