The food was fantastic, unfortunately, the service was not. I found myself in a socially delicate situation where I had to ask a Sea Star team member to wash their hands before handling our food. I debated walking out or not ordering, but that wasn’t a realistic option due to circumstance.
Knowing it would be uncomfortable, I remained extraordinarily polite during the brief interaction, thanked him for complying with my request, and even tipped well afterward because they did, albeit reluctantly, wash their hands. Sadly, the team member retaliated by treating my family poorly. They slamming our orders on the counter and abandoned our transaction, leaving me to grab my own receipt while being actively ignored.
What followed made the rest of our dine-in experience genuinely uncomfortable. There were prolonged stares, side conversations between the team member and coworkers, and several back room staff came out, seemingly just to look at us.
I felt backed into a situation where I had no good option. I either risked upsetting a staff member with a long line of customers behind me or disappoint a group of people I care about. It was an unpleasant way to end an otherwise great trip with family...
Read moreThe plan looks like this: Shower and get dressed. Walk to “The crabby oyster” to eat. GELATOOOOOOOO! Gelato. Gelato.
EVERY time we come to Seaside, we get gelato from “THE gelato place” (that’s how my daughter calls it).
The young adults who are working here are the epitome of patience, respect and kindness. There is ALWAYS a line, there’s ALWAYS a couple of young kids who can’t sit in one place, there’s ALWAYS a Mom who yells…one scoop kiddo…only one scoop because you just had dinner… 🤣
This little beautiful place has never disappointed us in the past 11 years. The phrase of the day is “Can I try….?” and they do let you try all the flavors.
Today, I fell in ❤️ and I was in total awe of the “peach - hibiscus” mix. Whoever came with that idea is my forever hero because now I want a body lotion and a shampoo that smell like that. For my fellow cinnamon lovers, they have “horchata” gelato….well, get yourself a scoop of each and you’ll feel like Jason Momoa’s girlfriend…just loved. 🤣❤️🤣❤️🤣
Have patience in the line, even if it rains a bit. It will be...
Read moreWe just went to this amazing little place and we will be going back! We tasted several flavors and ordered: P.O.G. and Ricotta in waffle cup and Blackberry Milk Chocolate and French Kiss Chocolate (I think that’s the correct name) in a cup. It’s a really cute sea themed gelato shop and we got to enjoy their Halloween decorations, which were super fun! The gelato offerings are numerous and super creative, from coffee drinks with gelato to different specialties like the gelacos (taco shell shaped waffle cones filled with two flavors of gelato and all kinds of toppings! The P.O.G. was light, fruity and very much like the juice of its namesake (Passionfruit Orange and Guava). The ricotta is like eating cheesecake without the crust, the combination was delicious! The Blackberry Milk Chocolate was also very tasty, as was the French Kiss Chocolate which had ribbons of chocolate sauce, dark chocolate chips and vanilla gelato. And yes, there are dairy free options! All with great service, the person who helped us was well versed in the ingredients of each flavor....
