The Seashore Inn is an amazing place to stay on a budget. Seaside is very expensive in the summer, especially for a beachfront property, but this place was very reasonable in comparison. I booked a deluxe double queen room in June for 4 nights which was around $1200, and included a balcony with a gorgeous ocean view. Across my whole stay, all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room overall was a good size and had nice amenities like coffee & tea, a fan, and a large flatscreen TV. You could tell the bedding and furniture were on the cheaper side, but considering the hotel is cheaper, I thought it to be fair. It was mostly clean when I checked in, clean enough to not be dirty, but I wouldn’t say *sparkling.* They had continental breakfast from 6-10am and it was GREAT! It wasn’t “fancy” as in they didn’t have hot-served food, but they had a pastry display with bagels, premade French toast/pancakes to put in a toaster, as well as other staples like cereal, juice, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs, etc. I was more than happy with it. One of the best parts about this Inn was its location. The back door was probably 20-30 feet from the sand on the beach. Easiest beach access, plus it was one block away from Broadway, which has all the shops and restaurants you need in Seaside. Parking is included for guests, and while spots filled up mid-way in the day, I never needed to move my car because I walked everywhere. And finally, they had an awesome indoor pool, hot tub, and dry sauna for use until 11pm. The only downside to this Inn was there wasn’t any A/C. The room was usually noticeably warmer than the outside temperature and it made it uncomfortable at times, mostly at night. They did have a fan in the room, but it didn’t do a lot, especially because the cord wasn’t long enough to put the fan in front of the window. Overall, there were way more pros than cons to this place and I will definitely be staying here again the next time I want a beachfront vacation on a budget.

This was my first time ever staying at the seashore inn. I'll go over my experience of the Room, the service, and the location. The Room: The room was on the first floor, was mostly clean, and smelled a tiny bit musty. The ceiling is a very old, stained popcorn style panel ceiling. Some area are dirty and water dnasnged. The shower was just gushing water like crazy and gets very hot so be careful. The bed was comfortable, the couch not so much. There is a tiny table in the corner good for 2 people. The TV was satisfactory. The window is nice and big and looks out on the beach. The service: the staff have clearly been there a long time, they were very kind, informative, friendly, and always talking with guests to share tips, and discuss local recommendations. They also were quick to notify people of the times you an grab coffee or snacks and use the different facilities like the pool. The included breakfast was a little lackluster, but it is a basic hotel/ motel. The food was some bread options, with some spreads, muffins, fruit, and boiled eggs. There was also a cereal dispenser. The location is quite prime. You are only a minute walk from the first shops, and 30 seconds from the beach. You're also only a minute from the aquarium nearby as well. The whole town is a quaint little place, that has a lot of fun shops and restaurants to offer visitors. It is all old, as most coastal towns are. Nothing has been renovated in the town for 30+ years, but that's sort of the charm. You can enjoy it the same as when you visited decades ago.

This is an older, basic hotel but still it was great due to the location. Pros: lots of them!! LOVED the location right on the Prom and a block from the main drag, corner room with amazing ocean view, beds shockingly super comfortable, it was nice having a full kitchen and they stocked it with cookware and utensils (a Keurig would have been nice though), but there’s everything you need. Free breakfast, hard boiled eggs, bagels, yogurt, juice etc. It was pretty quiet overall and it was very clean. Decks are thin but nice to have. The beach is right outside the hotel, like 10 steps away which was very convenient. Highlight of the trip was having a seagull catch a hard boiled egg mid-flight from the deck. I liked the beach there a lot because there wasn’t anything gross on it like the jellyfish at Ocean Shores and Cannon Beach. Cons: I did not like the shower, it was odd and small and looked like something from a camper or RV. I didn’t feel that safe using the designated dog potty area at night as it was dark and down an alley that had people congregating at times. Would I stay there again yes! The dog says two paws up for people watching even in bad weather!

I rarely write a review, but this was the worst stay I've ever experienced. We were staying at 4-plex unit, on second floor, room 563. At first, customer service wasn't great but we didn't pay attention due to the lower price we paid compared to the other hotels that were right on the beach. Then, when we got in our room, you could definitely see outdated and smelly rooms with dirty brown carpet. The mattress on the side had yellow stains too. Again, we didn't want to ruin our vacation and dropped our stuff and went to enjoy Seaside town and the ocean. When we came back to our room at night, we saw one bug crawling on the wall. My husband smashed it and then I saw another crawling in the bathroom. I started getting uncomfortable as I didn't want any crawling on us when we were sleeping. Who knows what else is there - bed bugs? I tried not to think about it, and went to bed. The bed was really hard and uncomfortable. I kept waking up multiple times throughout the night. In the morning, I touched my daughter's swimsuit to see if it was dry and saw a bug dropped from it on the carpet. I couldn't squish it as the carpet was dark. Then I looked again, and there was another crawling inside my daughter's swimsuit. It was unacceptable and I took a picture of it. We were then checking all of our cloth, shoes, socks, suitcases. We found a few: in my husband sock, in his shoe, two in my son's shoe, two on the wall, and two in my daughter's swimsuit. My kids went to get some continental breakfast and then went back to get some more juice. They came back without the juice as the lady at the front desk said they can't get more. When we were then checking out, my kids wanted to go and swim for a few minutes. I saw the manager running out to the pool screaming at our kids to "Get our of the pool!" That's when we've had it and complained to the front desk about our experience and the bugs in our room. The lady at front desk apologized and said that it was unacceptable the way our kids were treated by the manager and that we had bugs in our room. She said that it is their policy that the pool cannot be used once we are checked out. We didn't know that was their policy, but didn't appreciate or tolerate such treatment. She said that the general manager would definitely give us a call within two hours. As we were finishing packing our stuff, the manager who screamed at our kids came up to us and started saying that they checked our room and found only one bug that was squished. I said that she needs to spend in that room more than 5 minutes in order to find more. She started arguing with us and we said we don't want to talk to her and will talk to her manager. She then said "customers are not always right". It's been 12 hours, and we still didn't receive a phone call from the general manager. I would rather pay a little more and receive greater customer service with understanding and careness, cleaner and updated rooms. This is unacceptable and would not recommend this...

We booked this room last minute on a Saturday afternoon. I literally think that it was the last room in town so we were grateful to have a place to sleep.

Other than that, there really isn't anything special about this place. When you pull in, you can tell that it was probably a nice place to stay back in the 60's but that seems to be a theme with all of the hotels in Seaside. A mix of the old, very old and a few things new, the room was comfortable and had a great view of the beach but as far as vacation resorts go, it was lacking.

They say that the devil's in the details and that's what I look for when I visit an establishment. The photos that you find online of the rooms here are not an honest depiction of what the rooms really look like. They have done some updates. They've put marble walls in the shower and upgraded the fixtures. There are 32" flat screen TV's in the rooms but that's about it for new updates.

The walls are covered in this horrible looking texture material. The ceiling is made of tongue and groove wood slats giving you the feeling that you're sleeping under a deck. The carpets are old and dingy. The bed was sufficiently comfortable but not that great. There are no air conditioners and the room was super hot the whole time.

They do have a pool with hot tub and sauna that the wife and kids enjoyed. They are located in their own building so you can go swimming year round. I couldn't find a light switch anywhere so people have to use the sauna and restroom in the dark and they ask you to limit yourself to two towels yet they get soaked very quickly and it's hard to dry off with only two.

They offer a continental breakfast between 8am and 11am which of course is a nice gesture but when it's just some pre-packaged muffins and some oranges and bananas, you're better off going out for breakfast.

I thankful that we were able to book a room here and at such short notice but I really feel like this was a $100 per night room. Nowhere near the $230 that I paid for the one night. I would stay here again in a pinch but for less money per night, I can rent a suite at the timeshare place just two doors down on AirBnB.

After posting this review on other sites, I was contacted by the general manager of the Seashore Inn. They did not give their name or number but made it very clear that they were more than disappointed with my review. They rambled off a whole list of excuses as to why their resort wasn't "that bad" and did a lot of comparing themselves to the other establishments around town. Evidently, being slightly better than the rest makes them the best around and why should they improve as long as they are the white speck on the top of the chicken poo pile.

Thanks...

Addendum: Later that evening I went by the front desk and spoke to the young man at the desk and told him I knew it wasn't his fault and that it was an unfortunate situation.

The next morning I received a text from the front desk to come down and speak with them. The older lady from the previous day was there and a manager. They apologized again and said they would take care of the gift certificate. I was surprised and grateful and thoroughly understood that it wasn't the fault of the people at the desk. It was the fault of the booking site. But doing the right thing for their customers made me feel better about the situation and I am changing my review to reflect that. No one wants to be put in that situation, the customers or the staff.

Had a gift certificate for $200. Went online to book a room for the weekend. 500 links for every company out there to book the place. Used the first option booking.com

Site wouldn't let me use the coupon so it gave me a number to call.

It seemed to me at the time that I was routed to someone at the front desk of the hotel. They asked me specifics about the coupon.. The number, how much, ect. They said they would hold the room on my credit card and I would redeem gift certificate when I arrived.

When I arrived at the hotel I presented the coupon to a young man and he stated he couldn't use the the gift certificate because I didn't directly book through the front desk. Then a older lady came over and was clearly agitated. She was loud and upset saying that I booked through a third party site and there was nothing they could do. Maybe she was agitated because this had happened so many times before and that agitation wasn't because of me but because of the third party companies continuing to make these kind of mistakes.

The young man then called what I assume was a manager and once again said there was nothing they could do.

Nothing on the gift certificate said the reservation needed to made from a call directly to the hotel.

The front desk lady says this happens all the time and they keep having problems. This seems to be an issue with the third party companies online and how they compete for booking rights. Sometimes they are giving incorrect information and the hotel doesn't have control of what is done or said. Hopefully they can reconcile this in the future.

We drove four hours to get to Seaside and after the issue with the front desk we didn't let it innterupt the funt we had while...
