I leave reviews because I myself rely heavily on reviews before going to a place. So with that being said here’s my take on Taiji spa, I came to get a massage after being on the road (almost a 30 hour road trip) and my back was on fire. I tried to explain to the lady that I had a muscle spasm and back pain but she could not understand me. I didn’t really mind because the massage was great and they were really nice. Here’s why I left 3 stars, when we got to the front I left a tip for both people who took care of me and my boyfriend. Obviously tip is OPTIONAL and it is what we WANT and CAN give them. Times are tough and jobs are not paying enough. Never the less I left them each a reasonable tip that I can afford and all of a sudden the lady who couldn’t speak English when explaining my back pain was having a full conversation with me about how I need to leave a $10 tip. I asked her if there is a minimum for the tip at her place I didn’t know about? She just kept insisting tip is $10. She was saying it in a way like as if we NEEDED to leave TIP and it had to be $10 or over. Everyone who works for tips should understand that we give what we can. At the end of the day we work for our money too and I don’t need to be harassed to give MY MONEY to someone after I paid you and TIPPED you already. Anyways I won’t be coming back because anywhere they beg for tips is...
Read moreI've been to this place at least 30 times and always have a positive experience. I went today and had a new masseuse because my normal masseuse is no longer there. After 3 minutes of beginning the massage she excused herself to help somebody at the front desk for about 5 minutes and then came back and then after 1 minute started speaking loudly on headset phone. I asked her politely if I could have a quiet massage + she didn't seem to understand or did not want to stop talking loudly on the phone so I told her that I would leave. I really just wanted a quiet, peaceful relaxing massage and it was too chaotic. My recommendation would be that although I understand they might be short-staffed and the masseuses have to do customer service, they should try to keep customers that are there satisfied first. I hope...
Read moreHad 90min shiatsu. Very disappointed. Nancy started a great massage on me the first 10min, then switched to another lady, who didn’t know how to give shiatsu at all. The remaining 80min was her just rubbing oil on all over my back and legs, and pressing my skin against her arm and palm. No fingers accu-pressuring into spots to break tight knots. How can they give me a masseuse like that for 90min massage?! I went for 90min cuz I had pain and wanted to heal. Rubbing oil on my skin certainly won’t do anything. This lady probably was trying, but PLEASE TRAIN your masseuse better! Nancy’s first 10min was better than the following 80min of oil n skin rubbing. I paid full and tipped minimum in cash, but still feel like they didn’t deserve it at all. My pain...
