I came in for the Japanese Straightening as my sister had done the same thing here a few years back and was happy with the result. Due to religious reasons I requested a female stylist and to have the process which takes well over 5 hours done in a private room. Rob, the owner, was very accommodating and I respect his efforts in that respect. I worked with Noriko and I must say she is the epitome of professionalism and hospitality she even offered to go purchase snacks for me as I was hungry after sitting for more than 4 hours. She offered hair tips and advice and she was very genuine not to mention beyond meticulous in her work. In terms of the end result, I believe this salon delivers. However, I feel that there is an issue of honesty and straightforwardness. On the website, the Japanese is listed as starting from $350 and I can understand the keyword is STARTING however, I was quoted $450 and my sister well above $600 so as an initial listing I feel $350 is not even realistic and I would suggest placing the more accurate description of the pricing. After the consultation Noriko quoted me for $450, I had already paid $25 deposit. After I was finished and went to pay the owner, he quoted me at $500 which I thought was weird but assumed he included tip. I left and headed towards my car and was followed by my stylist who very politely told me that if I am satisfied with her service that tip was not included. When I went back into the salon I explained to Rob that I was quoted $450 and was charged $500 and now I am being told that doesn’t include tips he said that is correct. He then proceeded to speak with Noriko and asking her why she quoted me for $450 he then came outside and spoke with me and said whatever she has said is not accurate and that around there he is the only one who is accurate. To me, that is demeaning to his employees as he undermined her in front of the customer which I find a tad rude even if she made the mistake of misquoting me he does not have to put the blame on her there was just something about the way he said it that I found offensive. I then left saying okay then I’m just not leaving tip which he just laughed at. I got the vibe that he doesn't really care about his employees as long as he got his share it didn't really matter if she didn't receive tip. I would excuse this if it were the first time but the same exact thing apparently happened to my sister who said she always was tricked into paying even more to include tip and that there was no honesty initially about how much she would be charged. BOTTOM LINE IS GREAT SERVICE BUT MAKE SURE YOU KNOW EXACTLY HOW MUCH YOUR EXPECTED TO PAY AND IT DOES NOT...
Read moreI’m giving 5 stars to Sachiko.
I was recommended by my friend, and after going to a well-known hair stylist for years, I decided to stay more local for a change. Sachiko has great attention to detail, layering my hair nicely and giving me the curtain bangs that I wanted to try out for a change. It is even from right to left, and even her hair coloring skills are great as she was able to blend my roots to my grown out color quite well. 5/5 for her !
Unfortunately, my husband had a terrible experience with Shivana. He went for a perm and cut, and mind you - he has gotten perms many times before. The chemicals were left on for too long in his hair - I have never seen his hair so fried to the point where he actually has breakage. We have an upcoming wedding which is why he’s trying to figure out a style that works. There was also no technique/skill in the direction of rolling the rollers to what made sense with his inspo picture. Not only that, but the shave on the lower parts of his head were blocky and uneven. I can’t testify to Shivana’s skills with women’s hair. I’m sure she’s great at that given the other Google reviews. But between sounding discouraging and almost giving him warnings during the beginning of the session (as if he never got a perm before) to actually doing a less than decent job with the perm and cut…please just don’t offer to do it if you lack any confidence in doing so. It’s better to admit you can’t do a certain look than to attempt and mess up someone’s hair. Hair is so important, and to fry it up prior to a big event is quite disheartening.
I would personally go back to Sachiko for my own hair, but my husband is back on the market for a...

If you enjoy pointing out every little detail that a nail technician should have noticed herself, then this place is for you! Yes, I spent my precious time guiding her through where she missed waxing spots on my arms—upside, downside, left side, back of the elbow, you name it. You'd think a basic waxing service would include, you know, actually removing hair from all visible areas. Silly me for expecting that.
Moving on to the nail shaping extravaganza! Blink and you'll miss it. In a record-breaking two minutes, my nails were filed into... well, some shape that vaguely resembled what I wanted. Then came the masterpiece: a swift application of polish that could rival a toddler's finger painting session. For this stellar performance, I was graciously charged $15 for hands and $20 for legs. Because clearly, the speed at which the nail file was run over my toes warranted an extra five bucks.
If you're looking for a place where your detailed instructions fall on deaf ears and your nails are transformed in less time than it takes to order a coffee, then congratulations, you've found your spot. For the rest of us who value competence, attention to detail, and perhaps a bit of respect for our time and money, steer clear of this disaster zone.
Save yourself the frustration, disappointment, and the urge to micromanage your own beauty treatments. Trust me, there are far better places out there that actually deserve your...
