We booked this venue for our wedding reception in June 2019. We stayed in the bridal suite, had their delicious buffet food, scrumptious cake, and had a ball, dancing the night away on their dance floor. We had 50 guests which was perfect for the space. Staff was kind and the coordinator was patient and knowledgeable. Our overall experience was positive but there is room for improvement. There was a lack of communication between the coordinator, the staff, and myself at times. The coordinator had legitimate reasons for being unavailable or unresponsive during event planning stages. She appointed other staff members to take care of things if she was not available. The coordinator was not available to set up decorations so she appointed her assistant. I was not completely satisfied with her assistant however who seemed stressed and confused about how to decorate the reception. My bridesmaid had to assist the assistant instead of getting ready for the ceremony. My bridesmaid was able to return in time to get ready and to help get the bride, myself get ready. Even though this happened, the space was decorated nicely and was satisfied with the end result. Additionally, we were not informed of a conflict with parking in the hotel’s parking lot. We found a sign on the entrance door of the venue a couple days before the wedding that said no parking was allowed. No parking was allowed the day after our wedding due to a scheduled car show event. After expressing our concerns with the coordinator, the venue made accommodations by setting up a valet for our guests and ourselves. However, we were hassled by the car show event coordinators and event participants about parking in the lot when we were checking out of the hotel and packing our items from our room and reception. Another time there was a lack of communication was at brunch the next morning. We had reservations for brunch the morning after our wedding and the staff did not set up the floor plan in a way to allow my guests to sit together. Instead, we were sat at two, large circle tables and separated from each other. Because of this error, they made it right by waiving the bill for the bride/groom and offered mimosas as an apology. There were other things that did go as smoothly as I would like but overall, all concerns and issues were resolved at some point with satisfaction. There are a lot of moving parts when it comes to a wedding and things could have been disastrous but it never got to that point. There were some distressing times during the planning stages but when the party started, all of our guests were happy and more importantly, we - the bride and groom were happy during the wedding reception. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a good value - a lot of bang for your buck. We thought we could not afford to throw a wedding reception and this place made our dreams a reality. I do not have any regrets about having my reception at this venue. I had the best...
Read moreCalled to make a reservation for Mothers Day Brunch and was told that the price was $60 per person not including drinks. I was a little taken back about the price but figured it would be worth it if the food was great and after all it was for moms special day. We arrived and were seated in the upper dining room which meant that we had to walk downstairs each time we wanted to visit the buffet. This was a little inconvenient for younger folks but to expect that older folks could keep walking up and down the stairs every time they wanted more food is ridiculous. The food was terrible. The buffet consisted of shrimp, waffles, frozen square potato homefries that were hard and overcooked, Scrambled eggs, cold penne pasta, chicken marsala and made to order omelettes. There was a separate room for desserts but as people picked through it the table with the desserts looked totally unkept and a mess. Thats it for $60 per person and they took the liberty of adding the tip. The service at the table was equally as bad. We had dishes stacked up in the center of the table because the waiter did not come and pick them up until we said something. Each of us had a drink from the bar and our bill for 7 people was over $600 which is completely OUTRAGEOUS for what we got. The buffet at Hennings Market blows this place out of the water. I am not one to leave bad reviews on Google because I am a business owner and realize that everyone can have a bad day once in a while but this was beyond anything I could have imagined....
Read moreLocated in the heart of the walkable Skippack Village, this classy but casual, rambling place was a lovely escape. Heading past the welcoming hostess to the to the Rathskellar for the danceable rockabilly and roots rock band Delcobilly, not quite knowing what to expect, I passed several large, pleasant, windowed rooms with tables and staffed bars. Descending the stairs into a place that was not at all cellar-like, I found a living area with beautiful, ornate, dark wood, carpeting, and several rooms flowing one to the other. From the bar, which had cushioned, backed, swivel stools and a couple of high top tables, you could see in one direction a room with comfortable sofas facing a fireplace mantel, and in another the room where the band had set up behind a small parquet-look composition dance floor. Off of those 2 rooms was a large, cozy room with café tables and chairs. Your choice of seating, no reservation. The plentiful staff was professional, personable, and attentive. People drinking anything from bottled beer to mixed drinks were treated with respect. The shrimp cocktail I ordered had the biggest, best shrimp I've had in many years, and came with a cloth placemat and napkin. You'll understand that I also must put in a word for the spacious ladies' room with its modern fixtures, yet wonderful old wood decor. Highly recommend this place where you can go, "ahhh", and forget about the outside world...
