1st time here. I ordered the lobster ravioli based on a review I read here. They said it was the best they ever had, and it was stuffed full of lobster. 😶 I would love to know who stuffed the batch they ate because my lobster filling was minced so small I had to look in it to make sure it had lobster. It just tasted like cheese ravioli to me. My husband got a filet, which he loved, and the roasted potatoes that came with it were excellent. He normally doesn't eat sides, so that is saying something. My friend got the rigatoni porcini. The pasta could have been cooked a tad bit more. It was hard to chew, so she didn't eat that much of it. Her boyfriend had the rigatoni short rib, and he liked his meal. I ended the meal with the tiramisu, which was OK, and my husband got the hazelnut figato, which he loved. My review is a mix of some of us liking our meals and others who thought it was OK. Which is in line with the other reviews on this place. It seems this place is hit or miss depending on who is cooking. It was nice to try it. We might come back to try the pizza and stromboli.

We were in the mood for Italian, so we decided to give Vallini in Skippack a try. BYOB is always a plus for me. We brought a nice bottle of merlot, and the hostess escorted us to a booth that was extremely uncomfortable. It was a small narrow bench seat accompanied with a straight 90-degree back. It was awkward and uncomfortable, so we asked to be reseated, which was not a problem. Our new seats were much better. We sat at a half table/booth, and even the booth part was better. Anyway, the waitress brought out the house bread and dipping oil, unfortunately the bread was so hard and stale it was basically unedible. We started with an order of calamari which was excellent and a good-sized portion. And for dinner we both ordered lobster ravioli and it was the best lobster rav I ever had in my life. The ravioli's were stuffed full, and the blush sauce was excellent. The fried prosciutto was a nice touch on the dish. The lobster rav saved the review... it was phenomenal. 4 stars.

I ordered the special: homemade pumpkin ravioli in a white crab sauce with pine nuts. It was fantastic, the sweet pumpkin a great contrast with the savory sauce; although, the otherwise delicious bechamel could have included a bit more crab. My companion ordered the halibut - one of the most expensive selections on the menu. Unfortunately, it was way, way overcooked, dry and leathery, and lacked the typical moist, flaky, tender character of properly prepared halibut. This could have been because of the busy evening at the restaurant; however, an establishment should be consistently excellent, regardless of traffic, especially as otherwise fine an eatery as Vallini. The tiramisu, espresso, and service were exceptional.

What a disappointing experience. It was my mother’s birthday and I ordered takeout. She does not like cheese and she picked the gnocchi thinking it would be a safe choice. When ordering online I wrote under the instructions “birthday girls meal. She does not eat cheese. Please do not even sprinkle any on top.” To our disappointment, the meal was covered in cheese melted cheese. And cheese was all throughout the sauce. A simple phone call from the restaurant explaining their sauce is made with parm cheese mixed in it would have allowed us to pick another meal option. And there is no excuse for slathering the meal with cheese on top when I specifically specified not to. The restaurant was empty when my husband picked up the order so I can’t even say it was because the restaurant was overwhelmed. And I ordered the meal the the before so they had plenty of time to contact me. Everyone else’s meal was mediocre at best. Chicken parm was dry, barely any sauce. I will not ever be eating here again nor would I...

We had been to Vallini twice before and really enjoyed it. This time the food was very good but the service was poor. They finally have a limited wine selection so my wife chose a glass. The waitress came back saying they were out of it. It was not an extensive list so my wife chose ice tea, expecting the unsweetened tea since the other was labled lemon tea. The tea was loaded with sugar. She said out of un sweetened. Salads were fine, entres took for ever and my wifes was cold. Got a desert for my son to go but had no forks available. I went to restoom and my wife took out a gift and credit card. When I got back the waitress took the cards but without a detailed check just receipt. We were not happy. Can't completely blame the waitress. She must of had poor training. If you're out of wine or tea or nearly so let the waitstaff know. If there is are two types of tea ask beforehand. And I have never been to a place that didn't give a detailed receipt. Again poor service and that goes back to...
