Behind the server's very welcoming, jolly presentation was someone who couldn't get our order straight.
Another server came over to her table and told me I confused the other server when ordering. This is unacceptable; and she couldn't either understand our order.
Then she brought us the wrong appetizer items. After that she mixed up our dinners when serving the six of us by placing the wrong dinners with different members of our party of 6. For example, she mixed up a veal dish with a chicken dish.
We waited over an hour and a half for our meal.
No one in management took an interest in the situation.
I've been there a number of times, experiencing a number of small issues. This was the last time. Too much chaos, too much inability to understand orders, too much inability to respect the customer.
When speaking with a manager about our dining experience, she explained that they were extremely busy that night. We’re willing to give it another try, as we do find the food and atmosphere enjoyable. We look forward to a better overall experience during...
Read moreThis used to be one of my go to places for Italian food when I'm home. Perhaps I got used to better Italian food in NYC or maybe the quality has decreased, but the food was simply quite average. I got the gnocchi and it was just alright. The garlic knots which are usually fantastic were not warm and felt kind of stale.
The main issue today was that my friends and I wanted to order some drinks, however we were met with some trouble. They claimed that some of our IDs did not scan. That is impossible because we are all over 21. The employee tried a "gotcha" on us because 2 IDs said "not for real id purposes". That refers to the federal standard. If someone was using a fake ID, why would they use one that said fake ID on it. It seems like the employee had something out for us and lied that thr IDs didn't scan. It's pretty remarkable an establishment in Pennsylvania doesn't know what a Pennsylvania drivers license looks like. Perhaps there was another motivating factor for making...
Read moreWe've been frequenting Basta Pasta and almost weekly for the past six weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed our meals! We're particularly fond of the gluten-free pasta with oil, sun-dried tomatoes, and spinach. We appreciate the restaurant's efforts to accommodate our vegan and gluten-free needs. However, we've noticed that occasionally cheese is added to our pasta, despite our repeated requests for it to be omitted. (We know it’s standard to put in on top, it’s their signature move, but I think the person taking the order might not be relating to them we are vegan when I say it each time) We understand that this may be an oversight, and we'd greatly appreciate it if the kitchen could pay extra attention to these specific dietary requirements. Overall, we highly recommend Basta Pasta for its delicious food and friendly service. We look forward to continuing to enjoy our meals there...
