My wife and I are moving to Florida, stopped at this "Inn" because of the low rate we noticed in the North Carolina "Travel Coupons" magazine, rate of $39.99... I called to check for availability with coupon price, clerk stated rooms were available. Upon arrival, I was charged $56.00.... Does North Carolina charge $16.00 tax?||||Clerk was rude, a bit on the flighty side... Seemed very annoyed when I went back to the lobby to inform her that the remotes for the TV did not work, she informed me that the TV must be manually turned on... TV turned on, --- HDMI2 No connection. - At this point I decided the clerk would be no help, I checked the TV, HDMI cable was connected to HDMI1, Remote did not access input options, had to find the correct input option on the bottom of the Emerson TV, which I had to carefully hold in place so it would not fall of the broken stand. Upon changing input to correct HDMI input, still no signal... TV sits on top of an older TV/Dresser, inside the area where a TV would go I find a plug disconnected to a Cable box mounted to the back of the TV/Dresser... I reconnected the TV showed box rebooting, after 20 minutes I had signal, yet a poorly set screen... - Fire hazard as the outlet TV was connected to had a 6 outlet power strip with lamps, Microwave, Coffee pot and refrigerator connected to it, hanging in mid air.||||Room smelled clean, yet chairs were visibly filthy, carpet had several stains, only 1 towel and washcloth in bathroom, hot water took forever.||||Lastly, we were concerned about our vehicle as several people were "hanging" around outside... Locals living in the place as they offer weekly rates, very dirty looking. ||||WiFi did not work, Stink Bugs...

I have worked in hospitality my entire life; I know how to manage and run motels and hotels; I have also done housekeeping alongside that. I have several years experience in both aspects.
The man behind the desk also tried to instigate arguments with my autistic younger brother and disabled stepfather. He was very rude from the second day we got there. Also had to deal with neighbours smoking illegal substances and had to deal with neighbours banging on the walls the entire night until photos fell off the wall while we slept and hit us in the head. My four year old nephew was playing outside one day and the man came over and yelled that he needed to shut up because he was being loud (he is FOUR YEARS OLD AND HAS ADHD).
The housekeeper and the manager never once offered to replace what they broke.
DO NOT STAY HERE!! If you rent weekly, it's mandatory that you must let the maid come in twice a week to clean the room while you're out; she broke one of our ashtrays and never said anything to us about it. The rooms had bedbugs and always carried a musty smell. Cleaned the room before leaving and didn't get our security deposit back because one of the towels we used to clean had a spot on it. And the bed was wet after someone showered and sat on it. Money-grubbing and was never planning on giving our...
Read moreFor an older motel, this place was TERRIFIC! I honestly wasn't expecting a whole lot when I made my reservation because I knew it was an older an inexpensive motel, but that was totally fine with me - all I needed was a place to sleep and take a shower. And the price was unbeatable! However, I was unexpectedly surprised when I walked in my room - it smelled SO good and that, along with the cheery green and yellow painted walls, gave it a "homey" feel. The bed was VERY comfortable - I don't know if it was because of the mattress or the linens or the comforter or all of them combined, but I was more comfortable there than in my OWN bed! Everything was newer and clean in the bathroom, too - there was tile surrounding the tub and the shower curtain rod was curved (I've been told that gives larger people a little more room in the shower). The grass was neatly cut and even though the motel sits right at the Hwy's exit, it was quiet and peaceful. AND because it was right there at the exit, it was conveniently located to restaurants and gas stations. I was there on business, and it was less than a mile from where I had to be the next morning. They provided a continental breakfast (I chose sausage biscuits and coffee, but they also had fruit, muffins, cereal, and bagels and probably something else I'm forgetting). Also, the staff was friendly. :) I had a wonderful experience, and I would without a doubt stay...
