Bed bug!!!! ZERO STAR. RUDE STAFF MEMBER NAMED CHRISTINA ….. NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE.
If I could give La Quinta in South Jordan negative stars, I would. My stay here turned into a full-blown Fear Factor episode, except the bugs weren’t optional. Yes, bed bugs. Real, live, bite-you-while-you-sleep bed bugs. BED BUGS!!!! They have bed bugs. On 9/8/2025 at 10:30 pm I discovered a horrible sight as I had removed all my garments in preparation for bed. (Naked as the day I was born) The only reason this monster became visible is because I heated my room as I like my sleep environment warmer than most. It was the creature you see in the images attached. I scurried to the bathroom and grabbed a tissue and squashed the giant bug. Then took a photo and asked Google what is this. To my horror Google confirmed what my eyes was seeing. It was a cimex lectularius, a bed bug. I ran with the tissue and now dead bug to the lobby where I met this woman, Christina is her name. She was rude and cold and had the audacity to tell me “I don’t know where you got this from” after telling her it was found on my bed just before bed. She insisted the hotel did not have bed bugs and that they were a new location and told me they were at capacity and would not be changing my room. I maintained my composure and told them I would be sleeping in the lobby until the company I was contracted with would make adjustments to my reservation. She then called her manager who offered me $10 in quarters to pay their washing machine to wash all my clothes and moved me into a different room I spent the rest of the night washing, drying and moving myself to another room I have everything on video. I will be posting on my TikTok asap. When I politely informed the staff (thinking surely this is a health and safety emergency), I was met with an astonishing level of indifference. They initially refused to move me to another room. Their solution? “Just stay in the bug room.” I had to escalate to the point of saying I would sleep in the lobby, because apparently that was the only way to get a manager involved. The manager finally offered a solution so insulting it was almost funny: a whopping $10 credit to use the laundry machine (which costs about that much, if not more). So basically, I got the privilege of washing my own bug-infested clothes at full price — courtesy of the hotel. Bravo, La Quinta, for redefining the meaning of hospitality. I left feeling disgusted, itchy, and downright furious. This wasn’t just bad service — it was a masterclass in how to alienate guests permanently. If you value your sleep, your sanity, or your skin, skip this place. Unless of course, you enjoy late-night negotiations for basic hygiene, or paying $10 for the honor of doing your own laundry after fighting off bed bugs. In that case, this is your dream...
Read moreThis is a great hotel! To start, when you drive up the property is clean and inviting with a touch of warmth. As you walk in the lobby is very clean and nothing is out of place. Also when you enter it is very plain and clear that the hotel is taking the covid crisis very seriously. There are hand sanitizer all over the hotel and every precaution is taken to protect the guests. Upon entering I was greeted promptly and with respect. The check in process was quick and easy and all of my special requests were granted. There is a small convience store with th in basic items you would expect in a hotel. Down the hall are the complimentary breakfast and dining area as well as the workout area with all the modern equipment which is in great shape and then there is the indoor pool wich is clean and well maintained. The pool and workout area are well insulated from the rest of the hotel so that guests are not bothered by noise and or smell. The hotel has four levels all accesible by elevator. The room we stayed in was imaculate and everything was in good repair. The house keeping department seems to care about the work they do and by the appearance and cleanliness of the room they take pride in their work. To sum it up, the employee's are great the property is great and so is the stay and the price is great for the quality you get. The only complaint I have is the amount they charge per day for your pet their pricing is way out of line compared to all the other La Quinta hotels ive stayed at. When my budget is tight the pet charge policy will make it so I have to choose a different hotel that has a less expensive fee. I almost gave the hotel four stars because of the pet charge policy but the positive far outweighs the negative so I stuck with five stars.
UPDATE: Well things are not what they seem at this property. Without going into detail I will sum it up; when considering a long term stay, I was treated with tricky word play that ultimately evolved into a flat out lie in regards to pricing. I have been extremely loyal to this hotel and enjoyed staying there, but if this is how the new management conducts business then unfortunately I will seek out a new hotel. I would have accepted the price offered if I hadn't been treated like I was dumb and not valued as a customer. Luckily I figured out the word play. It is with some saaddness that I have to lower rhis review to a two star as the hotel is very nice as are the employees but greatness starts at the top and the top is ultimately responsible for lack of a perfect outcome in making the customer feel...
Read moreManager Lorin.... I hope you get to read this... Big shocker, we’re still wondering if any service personnel ever came back to RM105 to fix the horrible A/C rattle. My money is NOPE!!!! We checked in for a 3 day trip to SLC and booked this La Quinta a second time because our first stay was so nice. What a mistake that was. Thursday when we arrived after a long all day drive we pretty much grabbed some dinner from a local eatery and came back our room for some RnR. NOT!!!! Our AC unit kept us up all night with a horrible vibration rattle. After very little sleep, we brought it to the attention of the front desk the next morning and were told they’d take care of it. We got back to our room late in the afternoon and to our surprise, nothing had been done. We immediately brought the issue up again to the front desk and the maintenance guy (Dustin), followed me back to our room for immediate action. He said he knew what the issue was and that he'd be back shortly with a screwdriver to fix it. That never happened that afternoon, that evening, nor did it happen all day while we were gone on Saturday!! By the time we got back to the room on Saturday it was way after hours for fixing anything so we got to listen to the rattle again for a third night. When we checked out Sunday morning I politely asked for the names of the desk staff and manager on duty. The young lady working the desk gave me that information without hesitation as I explained our issue. Lorin the (quasi) manager would be my POC for any phone calls who could supposedly correct any issues and perhaps get us a refund of sorts. It’s been a little over a week since I spoke to Lorin and I’m sure RM105 is still waiting for Dustin to show up with a screwdriver to fix that junk. BUT, no contact from La Quinta at all as of this review. We cannot not endorse, will not recommend, certainly can't say anything positive, or provide a good review of this Hotel from hell. Oh, BTW, the lower level floor ice maker is prolly still out of service (8-8-25), and I’m still wondering if room service ever cleaned to room, as they never did squat the entire time we were there other than swap out our towels and only because we asked them to do so. Do your best to find another Hotel, this one is not good! Nothing to see here, as this place has really gone down hill since our first stay. Lorin promised a call back with a resolution, but after a week, her new name is Casper the Ghost!!! How did she make...
