Sandy Feet's Sandbox Inn of South Padre Island — Hotel in South Padre Island

I won a 2 night stay at this property a year and a half ago. From the beginning, I messaged the owner to ask if any black out dates. She said only holidays, so I respected that. However, each time I tried to schedule my stay based on open dates on her own calendar I kept getting excuses like the calendar isn’t updated but it’s not available or it’s open but I have people working at the property. She finally accepted my reservation for June 25-27. However, 2 days ago she canceled my reservation stating that she had forgot to update the calendar with my reservation and it was now double booked and she was canceling my reservation! I explained we already had plane tickets for some family members, but of course she still said no. Obviously, the paying customer had more weight to her than honoring her obligation to this donation she made to a nonprofit organization. She offered nights in the fall, but given all the runaround and this most recent cancelation leaving me and my family high and dry right before our scheduled weekend I would not book another time and risk being left with nothing again. It’s a shame that the organization she “donated” to has to now explain to their donors that their so called grand prize was worthless thanks to this owner not honoring her obligation. She also claimed that she was only trying to bounce back from a tough year but obviously it wasn’t that tough if every time I tried to book she was supposedly booked solid. One of the most unique and intriguing air Bnb places I’ve stayed at! The owners were so awesome and so kind and they provided everything and I mean everything you could possibly need except for your own clothing. It took like 4 minutes to walk to the beach and or to any other stores or restaurants. The place was so clean and so spacious. They were so kind enough to even provide us with snack and all the condiments you could need. I love the fact that they had a front and back patio to hang out. The Sandbox Inn in South Padre Island is a beautiful, quaint place to stay. It's updated and has beautiful light into all areas of the place. Large kitchen, easy access to the beach only a few blocks away. Has a two great decks for lounging and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! I give it 5...
