Im writing this today about a visit I had yesterday. I typically do not complain because everyone is human and makes mistakes but yesterday was awful. We chose Red Lobster because my Grandmother grew up with this being "a fancy place" and she has fond memories of it. It was her 73rd birthday yesterday so to us, it was a big and special day, which is probably in part why we were all so disappointed. We arrived at this restaurant around 445 as a large party of 9. We waited around 15 minutes to be seated, although the place was empty. I assumed this was because it was such a large group. We sat down and met our server. After a few minutes she took our drink orders (lots of specialty drinks and a few adult drinks) Within a few minutes bread arrived at the table, it was warm and enjoyable. Our drinks took a little long to get but nothing unreasonable. (we assumed it was because it was being made by the bartender.) We order appetizers (4). The drinks arrived and were a little off but small things (the non alcohol pina colada had no fruit slice, the alcoholic pina was very watered down like the ice had melted) but we were ok. The appetizers came out and were good but we were behind with two of the mushrooms. It took another 15 minutes to get them to the table. During this time we were checked on once and we ordered 3 mountain dews for the younger kids. After 10 minutes they still were not at the table. We reminded the server and after an additional 10 minutes and a now very irritable kid we got the drinks. So 20 minutes for a fountain drink. After we ordered our entrees it took 45 minutes to get our food. We sat in the back of the restaurant with irritated kids and now adults wondering if our order had been misplaced or forgotten. I kept saying even though the store was empty maybe it was the 2 other groups that were causing the delay. Our food finally arrived and this was when I had enough. The alfredo was a pile of plain noodles with a spoon of sauce. It looked cheap and not presentable at all. Like it came right out of a preportioned microwaved bag (at least try and hide this by maybe stirring a little and then topping with shrimp. It tasted like dry, plain noodles. All of the food was not cold but it was not hot... room temp, probably sitting for a bit. Not a great thing for seafood. None of the lobster had butter with them and we werent going to ask and wait. My 13 year old son got a bacon burger. The sesame seeds were black. The side of the bun was completely black. This one we did request a new one of because it was all he ordered. After 15 more minutes the waitress came back with a to go box and said the kitchen burned it a second time. We just left the food on the table. It is insane to wait 20 minutes for a burger bun. So my son had nothing to eat during this visit and opted to stop for fast food instead. Like I previously mentioned I typically do not complain but this was multiple issues from different areas. (bar kitchen server) I will say I still believe in tipping the server a reasonable wage because I may not be seeing what challenges they are facing but it is unacceptable for this company to allow those challenges to affect the customers like they did. We pay decent money to, at the very least, have a mediocre visit. I am writing this on google because the "contact us" on the website is not working amd will update my review if I receive a call back about...
Read moreThe cooks did a great job. Everyone else, the manager, the hostess and our waitress was dreadful. We came in and waited to be seated for 5 minutes before another person in my party walked around toward the back and found the manager and the hostess on their phones, chit chatting. We were seated and a waitress that carried herself and looked like a sweaty disheveled pack mule took our order. You could not see all of her face because if her long, sweaty very untended hair. Gross. Just because COVID restrictions have been laced this does not mean that basic hygiene and sanitation standards should disappear. I ordered appetizers and drinks. Drinks took about 8 to 10 minutes, which were refilled once when we asked about them and never again. Langostino Pizza, very good. Calamari was almost crispy enough but way way way too salty. And I like a little salt. Bacon wrapped scallops. Fine, solid. I ordered salad w blue cheese (we only have Caesar salad). I like Caesar, not a huge deal, it was actually good. My employee ordered the Cod sandwich with American cheese. Waitress came back after the appetizers were being eaten and said we don't have American cheese is cheddar ok? He said no he didn't like cheddar what other cheeses fo you have, she said parmesan, he said thats fine and she rolled her eyes. Unacceptable. He also ordered without coleslaw, and it came loaded with it. Smh, we decided already that the experience was going to suck and given her attitude, how busy she was, the clear lack of proper management, we were concerned that our food might fall victim to something she would do, so he didn't mention it. My shrimp were normal fried well butterflies shrimp Key lime pie was good but was a tiny piece. I asked for Tabasco when I ordered the drinks and appetizers and got it when she took the appetizers away. Red Lobster you really dropped the ball. You have someone that would come in regularly and spend 60 to 70 for lunch and you blew it. The only pleasant member of their staff was the younger, heavy set black gentlemen that brought us our entrees, he was great. A real manager would fix all of...
Read moreRED LOBSTER Has been my favorite seafood restaurant for years. No matter where you live every decent sized town will have one! I love love love the crab dishes, especially the Crab Alfredo! My daughter and I used to go there fairly often and I would order my Crab Alfredo, and she would order the Shrimp Alfredo . The Alfredo sauce for the crab was always perfect, creamy, cheesy, and DELISH!! The Shrimp Alfredo always had garlic in it which my daughter loved!! The Staff is friendly and helpful, and if they find out you are there celebrating your birthday, they will bring you a piece of cake and several staff members come out and sing their own version of the Happy Birthday song, making you feel warm and welcome! The Caesar salads are wonderful as are their delightful cheddar Bay biscuits, which they will refill if you finish them before you get your meal. Lately I noticed that my Crab Alfredo has much more garlic than usual. Unfortunately, I now have Gerd which will make me I'll if I eat much garlic. When I explained this to my server, she asked me to please wait a minute while talks to the chef for me. She is smiling when she comes back to tell me that the chef is going to see what he can do... She brought our dinners out sooner than I thought, and God Bless her and the chef because the dinner tasted just like the old Crab Alfredo, wonderful. I can never finish the big meal they give me, so I took a take out box of it with some biscuits I ordered extra to take home for my son!! I gave my server a bigger tip than usual since she went out of her way to keep me a happy...
