I wrote a review 3 years ago about how awesome this place was. What the hell happened? Today we went to eat there because we loved this restaurant. There was, may 4 tables. We ordered our food, got the guacamole dip (the server who walks that around with the cart is the only thing good about this place anymore) then waited.... and waited. We watched 3 tables leave, new people sat, they ate then left as well. After about a hour of waiting we decided it was time to leave. We asked for our server but no one went to get her. We waited ANOTHER 15 minutes just to tell her we were leaving. As we were leaving she suddenly appeared! Told us our food would be up in about 10 minutes. So now we have been there a hour and 20 minutes.... for a table of 3...... and they want us to wait even longer. Mind you were didn’t receive drink refills either. My husband and I were so angry we just left. Watching everyone come in, eat then leave while we are still waiting to get our food was frustrating. She never even came to let us know anything. She dropped our drinks, took our order and left. Now, I know there’s a short staffing problem in our nation right now. However there was 4 tables and a woman waiting for carry out.... she was waiting as long as we were. We will never go back! I’m beyond disappointed. We watched this place go down hill slowly but thought it was pandemic related. After today, we will never return. We eat there at least 3 times a month. Never...
Read moreI am visiting Pennsylvania to see a friend this weekend and we decided to come to this restaurant. I am from Texas so I didn't expect this restaurant to be the best Mexican food I've ever had or anything. The food was "okay" edible but the reason I am even bothering with a review is because of the service I received the worst service I've ever had in my life at this restaurant. Our waitress either had an issue with us or she was just having a bad day I am not sure. We were there for over 2 and half hours and the majority of that time was waiting on her to come back to us. It took 45 minutes to even get our order taken ( they weren't even that busy) I also watched multiple people come to the restaurant and get to order their food before we were able to. I understand once we order the food that it will take some time to get the food made so that wait was expected. I asked her for the checks and took over 20 minutes to get us the checks. I dont quite understand what was happening but this is not service at all. I hope this isn't the every day experience when people come here. We had to ask multiple times to refill our water and drinks and still had issues with that. We also asked for guacamole before 2 other tables even sat down and watched them get theirs before we did. Just not very good...
Read moreThis one is a little slice of heaven. You walk in and the furniture looks a little gaudy, a little crummy, but then you realize that it looks just like you might expect to see in a restaurant like that in Mexico. Everything screams "authentic" and "hand-made". The food is eat-it-slow good. I ordered the chicken quesadilla, and Rio burrito. The meat is so flavorful, and they balance the other ingredients and seasonings just right. But first, you get to enjoy complimentary chips and salsa as well as, if you choose (and I highly recommend you do), guacamole that is prepared right beside your table as you watch. You can only get fresher than that by doing it yourself with ingredients you just picked from your own garden. And it shows. The only way the experience would have been more perfect is if it had been my birthday. And the staff is so attentive, without being nosey or pushy. Every refilled drink, every emptied plate, even a fresh batch of chips were taken care of just as the need arose. And the instant they were sure we'd decided to go, and not just stretching our legs or something, they swooped right in and bussed the table with expert efficiency. I can't...
