When I first got to this place, I didn't think much of it since it was on a main road and the neighborhood had alot of businesses on the street. So when I seen this place, And it's right off of route 80. I thought it might be a bit tough to sleep in considering the shape of the neighborhood but I was actually pleasantly surprised. When you first walk in, it's nice and clean. The front desk clerks were very nice. They allowed me to check in a bit early so that was nice. As I was walking to my room, I noticed that this building looks like it is a more modernized building with modernized decor. And the hallways were clean. So as I got into my room, it was so much bigger than what I thought it would be. We had a couch in the room, a small table, a microwave, fridge and coffee machine. And we had a king sized bed and the room had two sinks, one inside of the bathroom and one outside of it. And it had a big TV. The room was actually really pretty nice, I was impressed. The bathroom was nice and clean too. I actually got hot water when i took my showers. And they do have a little breakfast buffet. The lady who was running the buffet was actually extremely nice. I asked her about the pancake machine and she helped me with no problem at all. Now for the cons of this place.....I was a little disappointed that they had no waffles in the buffet and no bacon. And my next complaint would be the pool. I went into the pool one time on my weekend getaway at around 8am and there was like no lights on in there. And the hot tub was covered up with a board so I think it was being worked on. Also, the pool water was freezing. Honestly, I am not even sure if that place was even supposed to be opened considering the fact that the hot tub was under construction but the door was unlocked and there were no signs saying "under construction, do not enter" or anything like that. So I assume I can go in. But that pool area was a huge let down. And I don't understand why there was utility trucks parked in the parking lot when it's such a small parking lot to begin with but it is what it is. Other than these cons, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It's right off of i80 and my room was very nice and my bed was comfortable and it was clean as far as I seen. So I enjoyed my stay...
Read moreUpon arrival at the hotel, we noticed that they were doing renovations. Our room was fine, they started removing the tiles of the bathroom and left it unfinished, but we decided not to complain since we were out for most of the day anyway. Their breakfast was very good for the price you pay, I commend their breakfast staff. Most of the front desk staff were very good as well, but.... On our third day, I approached the front desk to ask about the printer and needed a replacement microwave (wife burned a styro cup that she shouldn't have used in the microwave, but when I tested it, it wasn't turning so we still needed a replacement, which was not a big deal or issue) and while I was there, another guest was asking for a refund. She complained about the renovations going on that it didn't make her feel safe, and when she looked at me, I simply said "I know right?!". I was taken aback when the front desk manager went on a rant about moving me to another room, and whatever filth came out of his mouth. I told him that I was simply agreeing with the other guest and didn't understand why he reacted that way. I was shaking my head the entire time, and wondering what was wrong with this guy. So, I decided since he started it, I was going to complain about the other things we didn't like about our stay. I told him that I wished that it was mentioned on their website that they were doing renovations and that their pool was being used for daily swimming lessons, I said this in a very calm manner and his response to me was "What do you expect from a hundred dollar hotel?!?" Wow, such pride in your hotel right there, this guy should train every front desk staff of IHG on what not to do or say. We were planning to go back and stay at this hotel this winter, but I guess not anymore. I really hope someone from IHG...
Read morePros first: Clean room, comfortable bed, friendly woman taking care of breakfast bar. |Cons: I reserved a standard room through AAA and was given a handicap accessible one. I never reserve that type of room. We went to the desk and were told that was “what came up”. The bathroom had absolutely no countertop so there was no space to even put a toothbrush let alone any other toiletries you have. We had to put them out in the room and retrieve them when needed. The fan in the bathroom runs continuously. As soon as you walk in the bathroom, the light comes on (nice feature) but the fan revs up and is very loud and annoying, especially because you can’t turn it off. If you hit the switch, it slows down then revs up every 15 seconds. ||The blinds in our room were broken. The cords were broken off so they wouldn’t go up. In order to get any sunlight, we had to roll them up and slant them against the window (see picture). We told the young lady at the desk but since it was late afternoon, there was no one available to fix them…understandable. But the next morning, we notified the young man at the desk who, to his credit, immediately got on the phone and notified maintenance. That was at 9:30 am. We got back at 5:00 pm and nothing had been done. I really felt they just didn’t care and it was too bad for us. ||This hotel is located on a busy street with a very noisy overpass next to it. At any point during the night you will hear trucks using jake brakes or cars racing. Also, semi’s are parked right beside the hotel (see picture of the “view” from our room. ||The sink had plenty of hot water, not so much in the shower. It was hit or miss. ||I would not recommend this hotel and, in fact, we will not be staying at any more Holiday Inns. There are plenty of nicer...
