I am providing Pizza One with an honest review because while the majority of times I found at Pizza One were pleasant, they were not high quality enough for me to overlook the nightmare I experienced. I ate at Pizza One in the summer months of 2021, with a friend. I can't remember if the clerk was male or female at that time. We were given enough attention and received our slices, and there was adequate professionalism. I visited again in 2022, I was by myself, and the clerk was very careful. I had the undivided attention of the clerk, and I was given a good portion of an amount of food; it was an appropriate value. During this visit, I had a female clerk. I visited again in 2023, and the experience was the polar opposite. I ordered eggplant Parmesan without cheese, and I had a cashier who was a man. I ordered and he was asking me if I wanted angel hair or linguini, and another question. He never asked me if I wanted to take my food to go or not, and after I paid I went to sit down because I received a phone call. The cashier then put the food which was two separate containers of the eggplant and pasta, in a paper bag and small metal containers. The cashier didn't bother to put the heavy bag in a plastic bag over the paper bag, or even ask me if I wanted it to go! I had to leave so I didn't ask him to put it in a plate and I would sit down, and it was not my responsibility. It was obvious that there was more food than the container could hold. I get out of my car, and the bag breaks and spills tomato sauce all over my pants! I was forced to be put in public with tomato sauce all over my clothes and mask, all because of the carelessness of the clerk. It all would never have happened had he asked me one question, and took more precaution. I have a generous tip, and end up being given very careless service. I was humiliated. It was beyond inconvenient, I had to clean up my car seat. I was lucky that a person at another business was kind enough to give me a disposable face mask because I had a disposable one on that day (not a business located in the pizzeria's plaza). It seems that there is potential for the pizzeria to progress into a business in better practice, because they are fair in prices but certain practices...
Read morePizza 1 has been our very large family's go to Pizzeria for delicious authentic Italian Pasta, Pizza, great customer service and great family atmosphere in our hometown in the Poconos. Hands down even after the transition of owners the pizza and service remained and STILL IS GREAT and we remained loyal.
Regrettably It is sad and unfortunate to say that WE (Immediate friends and family) will no longer be supporting this establishment.
A few weeks back my wife and daughter decided they wanted to stop by for a slice of pizza and beef Patty as they normally do when shopping in town, on this day it was particularly busy.
After 40 minutes of waiting she politely asked if the order was not placed if they could kindly cancel it.
As a result the Pizzeria Owner became extremely irate and upset and told her the pizzeria was busy. My wife responded that it was fine, it has been 40 minutes, if the order hasn't been started please cancel it.
Please understand that My family and I have the utmost respect for this man, his family and his restaurant. His family has fed my family for years with great service and great food and for tat we are grateful. As a result we in turn consider him and his family friends.
Ultimately this man decides to humiliate my wife and daughter in restaurant full of people and YELL at them remarks, and sentiments that I do not wish to repeat.
In short the food is great and we have never have had any complaint.
Unfortunately our last experience will be our last.....
Pizza 1 My family and I would like to thank you for years of great food and service, with that said we will be moving on.

Read moreThe food is good - if you can get it - the service is SOOOOO inconsistent. I've called multiple times to place an order. The times where someone picked up promptly are few and far between - sometimes they never pick up the phone (even though shortly after I drive by and see they're open), OR you have to let the phone ring for quite a while before they pick up.
If and when they finally answer the phone, I am often greeted by a simple "Hello?", forcing me to verify that the number I called is indeed for Pizza 1 (How about answering by saying "Pizza 1"?). But the person who frequently answers has a very thick foreign accent, and seems to make little attempt to speak slowly and clearly, which forces me to constantly say "could you repeat that, please?"
I have been a faithful customer of Pizza 1 since the days of its original owner, Nicola (before he opened his fancy restaurant). It has gone through several owners since then, and it's been a struggle to maintain loyalty when the owners fail to realize that good food itself won't sustain a business - you need solid and reliable...
